We are a small, family run, eco-friendly campsite in Chailey, set in a peaceful pocket of Sussex countryside. Weekend Trip to Hale Farm

Lovely big pitch, great, clean facilities (both compost and flushing loos available), and beautiful tree edged site with a distant soundscape of peacocks! Being able to visit the animals each morning was a real highlight, especially meeting a day old baby goat! Log delivery available each teatime but we missed it one night and the owners were still able to arrange for us to have logs when we texted them. Thank you.

What a superb camping site! We have stayed on lots of sites and this was one of our favourites- huge pitches, clean and plenty of toilets/showers. The local walks and ideas were fab and I can definitely say that I have never stayed on a site with a camel before! The owners and staff were all amazing and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thank you for creating a space and experience for all to enjoy!

I loved camping at Tomkin's farm. The site is surrounded by beautiful countryside and there were lots of interesting meadow flowers, insects, birds, and animals to be seen in the area. The llamas, alpacas and bactrian camel were fascinating for the children and the llama behaviour in particular was of deep interest to the girl in our group. The showers and toilet facilities were in good shape and water was good and hot. Signage for drinking water and women's only toilet could be clearer. The footpath to the local pub was easy to follow and the pub itself was good.

The campsite is lovely and situated in beautiful countryside. Facilities are good, although signage around the women's only toilet and the drinking water tap, could be better. The showers are very hot, and the one cold shower was very welcome on the hottest days. It was lovely to walk to see the alpacas, llamas and camel - the latter of whom was very sensibly staying in the shade. The walk to the nearest pub is very pleasant!

This was a great campsite, they were very friendly. The facilities were basic but clean and functional. The cafe was great and the option of pizzas on Saturday and Sunday night was brilliant. The location was lovely and seeing the alpacas and camels was fantastic.

What a lovely campsite and host (Tim)! We camped at half term on a bank holiday weekend and despite lots of kids, was quiet and so relaxing with 20 private pitches. Lovely spacious, clean and well put together toilets, showers and washing areas. Great location, close to Lewes and the coast. Wildlife aplenty, with birdsong, bats and the odd pheasant wandering through the site. Recommended!

1 night at Hook Farm Campsite

I stayed at this campsite one night, and overall, it was a really peaceful experience. The site is quiet and truly gives you that immersive outdoor feeling—you really feel like you’re out in nature. You can hear birdsong all around, and there’s no traffic or city noise—just calm. The facilities were also very different; the toilets, in particular, were compost toilets—no smells at all, was a different experience. My only minor downside is that the field itself is pretty steep—so if you’re not a fan of inclines, that might be a concern. But aside from that, it’s a fantastic spot for a quiet night under the stars.

Weekend Trip to Hook Farm Campsite

We stayed two nights in our tent and loved the peaceful surroundings and beautiful nature. The campsite was very spacious, and the toilets were strategically located so you didn't have to walk far. The same went for the water taps. Finding a flat surface was definitely a challenge, as the whole field is more or less on a slope, which we had expected in advance. The owners/camp staff were very friendly and helpful, and other visitors to the campsite were considerate and quiet after dark. We didn't know it was a 'music-free' campsite, but we didn't mind that at all, and we enjoyed the sounds of nature instead. The showers were a bit of a walk, but they were spacious and had hot water. We also loved that bonfires were allowed and that you could buy logs, kindling, and fire starters on site. The 2 pm check-out time was perfect, as we could enjoy our morning and leave without a rush. We also heard The Cat Inn, which is nearby, has delicious food, but you have to book in advance, which we didn't, so we will need to check it out next time. We will definitely be back!

Rebekah's field is calm and peaceful, tucked away where it is possible to really relax. We were met with friendliness and were also left to enjoy the space fully in peace. It was gorgeous to see the big starry skies at night and waking up to bird song and our dog enjoyed basking in the sunshine. Rebekah replied promptly to any messages with questions or requests and I would absolutely recommend it to others.
