A very warm welcome to our guests at Little Eden, a restful and relaxing, riverside campsite for tents and campervans with grass pitches. We’re in a great spot if you love fishing, kayaking, gorge walking, cycling, seasides, fossil hunting, wild swimming, fell running, bird watching, archaeology or even Viking history!
We are 9 miles from the mystical Glastonbury Abbey and Tor and directly on a Sustrans 33 cycle path route. The River Brue runs alongside the campsite with damsel flies fluttering by and kingfishers darting back and forth. We are on the Somerset levels so the sunsets are amazing as well as night time stargazing. We have a private, wooden jetty where you can launch your own paddle board. It’s a perfect get away for campers and nature lovers. Bring your own raised BBQs and logs or buy firewood on site. A family run campsite around 30 miles south of Bristol on the banks of the River Brue, it has a relaxed vibe and we try to keep things simple and straight forward. It’s ideal for doing some day trips nearby, then lighting the BBQ and playing Frisbee (games box you are most welcome to use). Shower and toilet, drinking water, washing-up sink in garden kitchenette.
Our big sister site is just 4 miles away, and the café bar at 'Wall Eden Farm' serves fantastic coffee, cake, and family-made Somerset cider. If looking for classic countryside pub meal The Duck at Burtle and The Bird at Westhay are local favourites, be sure to book! Burnham on Sea close by has great fish and chips, a sandy beach, a pier and promenade if you like salty fingers and sandy toes.

We stayed at Nancy's (70s’ caravan). The interior was the cosiest I could ever ask for. Minimalist but essential amenities made our stay enjoyable.
The camping site offers good views, especially for watching a splendid sunset if the weather is right. Campsite facilities are well-maintained and spotless.
Its location is very close to Evesham, making it easy to find shops, pubs, and access roads to other nearby destinations.
Don't miss paying Shakespeare a visit if you haven't done so yet 😉

Weekend Trip to The Nut Plat Retreat
The cabin was homely, warm and comfy. Plenty of logs provided for the burner. The hot tub is surrounded by trees and when the stars come out a lovely place to wallow. Nice country pub on doorstep. Would recommend.

wow don't know where to start Sammy was so amazing it felt like home. gorgeous pwople. made us feel very welcome outstanding. wish didn't have to leave. hot tub was so amazing even in the cold Xmas nights. gorgeous. Weekend Trip to The Nut Plat Retreat
Highly recommend, my partner and I had a great time at Finlay’s cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for in terms of: how remote & private it was, outdoor and indoor fire & the hot tub! We also loved the unique structure and authentic feel… however a few things to note, for the cost per night(£180) I would expect: body wash & shampoo / hairdryer, better kitchen essentials, the coffee left was almost empty for example and old stuff was left in the fridge& top shelf was left completely wet.. I know it’s ‘small’ things but for the price you’d expect these things to be attended to.. for us we didn’t mind too much, but would have made the experience a lot nicer to have these things to improve the overall feel and experience. Also I felt that in terms of cleanliness, it could have been cleaner, many cobwebs & spiders, hair and dirt in the bath tub, messy outdoor porch area; we wanted to use the outdoor bbq and had to clean it very well ourselves.. for the price you would expect it to be clean and ready to use with coals etc however we had to make do with the indoor logs with no fire starter as only option was the chemical indoor one which we didn’t want to use to cook food on.. making it difficult. The hotub area is lovely, however we wanted to use it at night which proved difficult as no outdoor lightning, and indoor torch didn’t work.. some lanterns outside would be a great addition. Duncan was a kind host and has a very special plot!

Such a beautiful spot, we took Ransoms for 3 nights. Everything we needed was ready for us, nice kitchen and a lovely hot tub. The host is very friendly and helpful. Don’t miss out on The Kentish Rifleman’s Pie and a Pint on Tuesdays and walks through Plaxtol, Igtham moat, and the green fields.

A truly beautiful place to stay – so charming and full of character. And then there’s Charlotte, the hostess: such a warm and welcoming person, with a genuine passion that shines through in her wonderful camper spot. The surrounding region is perfect for both walking and gravel riding. For food and drinks, head to the pub just around the corner (“The Pub with No Name” aka The White Horse). It’s incredibly authentic and serves excellent cuisine.

We had a great stay. We stayed for one night and used it as a base to cycle to Glastonbury and back. We were left to ourselves and trusted by the owner which we loved. Sites like this are the reason we bought out camper van. Thanks for a great stay.

Wow, Little Eden is exactly what it says it is. It has everything for a wonderful camping experience. You are totally emmersed in Nature. You can hear the wild life and birds around you. You can use a fire pit and sit outside under the stars, whilst keeping warm.
The decor is beautiful, the facilities are great.
Showers, toilets, washing machine, fridge and anything else you can think of.
I would definitely recommend Little Eden to everyone.

Such a lovely campsite and it has everything you need for a relaxing stay! There are great walks in the local area and the on site cafe had amazing pastries!
Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful break!

Where to go
Around Oxford
Plenty of nature reserves, public parks, and countryside spaces, both inside and outside the Oxford Ring Road, provide all sorts of outdoor adventure around Oxford. Port Meadow, Raeleigh Park, and Chilswell Valley are great spots for a glimpse of nature, while Shotover Country Park lures mountain bikers with its sweeping valleys and off-road trails. Campgrounds abound in the area, including caravan parks, private farms, and Thameside tenting pitches.
The Cotswolds AONB
One of England’s most famous camping destinations, this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty lies less than an hour west of Oxford by road. Villages, gardens, historic buildings, and working farms provide plenty for the whole family to enjoy, and a vast network of country lanes and bridleways are ideal for exploring on foot, by bike, or even on horseback. Glamping is increasingly popular in the area, though touring parks and pet-friendly campgrounds remain common too.
Chiltern Hills AONB
Drive less than an hour east of Oxford and you’ll find the Chilterns, another Area of Outstanding Beauty. Home to ancient forests, rolling fields, and winding waterways, these chalk hills offer a quintessentially English outdoor experience. Camping options range from high-end lodges to back-to-basics pitches, with many campgrounds also welcoming pets as part of the family.
The New Forest
One of England’s most famous national parks, the New Forest stands just over 100 km (around 70 miles) south of Oxford, close to Southampton on England’s south coast. A diverse landscape made up of heathland, forest, and coastline, the park is a favourite among wildlife lovers, watersports enthusiasts, ramblers, and riders. Wild camping is not permitted within the park itself, though there are several designated campsites throughout.
The South Downs
Home to the ancient South Downs Way, this national park sprawls from Surrey down to the Sussex Coast, and can be reached in around 90 minutes from Oxford. The chalk downs and winding valleys are ideal for hiking and biking, and the region’s many private farms provide plenty of camping options, from wild pitching to luxury glamping.
When to go
England’s national parks and AONBs are busiest during spring and summer, so book ahead to secure your spot. Autumn and winter bring fewer crowds and striking landscapes—but be prepared for the cold!

- Public transport is widely accessible across England, though campers travelling longer distances may find it easier to bring or hire a vehicle.
- Gear rental can sometimes be arranged directly through campsites, so it’s worth checking in advance.
- Otherwise, Oxford is home to several camping shops, including GO Outdoors and Mountain Warehouse.
