Weekend Trip to Painters Farm Campsite

We’ve camped a lot in the past but this was our first trip with our little fella, and safe to say it was a total success. The campsite was lovely with some stunning sunsets. It had a pub and play park 5 minutes walk away and the washing facilities on site were clean and well looked after. The campsite is within an easy drive to Whitstable, a brill little seaside town, where we spent a day and close to Faversham which was a nice market town. There was also a massive Aldi less then 10mins drive away to stock up on anything the on site shop didn’t have. The owners were very helpful and all in all it was the perfect little trip.

Fab friendly hardworking wardens & such a lovely campsite! We walked to Faversham, & when we returned later in the day we fired up the bbq & kept warm with the firepit, enjoyed the sunset & views of the cherry orchard. Toilets & showers were clean & water warm enough for me!. Appreciated the nearby field to walk dogs & the great pub within walking distance . Nothing not to like about Painters Farm, we would love to revisit!

Weekend Trip to Woolton Farm

We had a fabulous time at Woolton barn. The camp site is lovely, with (what looks like) 2 brand new toilets and 2 showers and a basic camp kitchen with water. The guy who checked us in couldn't have been more helpful and the setting is beautiful. Short walk to the train station and 1 stop into Canterbury, with plenty of walks nearby, means you can ditch the car if you wish, the food and the cider/wine at the barn are a definite plus.

We loved staying at Freedom farm - really secluded away from all noise, and beautiful grounds! Helena and Duncan were so hospitable, checking in on us that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. Thank you so much!

Weekend Trip to Elham Treehouse

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin over the Easter holiday. It was warm, cosy, and tastefully decorated,.There’s a BBQ area outside so we had a lovely BBQ. Mark was incredibly nice. he brought us fresh bread every morning, which was absolutely delicious! When it was time to leave, he even gave us a lift to Canterbury. Such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I’d highly recommend it to everyone!

Camping is good especially for people with families. If you are looking for more “wild” experience, this is not your place.

1 night at Elham Treehouse

Went for a weekend with my partner and it was really fantastic. you really feel isolated while town is just a short (ish) walk away with a great restaurant. the property is superbly well kept and Mark is a great host, always looking out for us. The treehouse itself is very cosy for two and stocked with board games, books, and binoculars which was a detail we loved. There is also a amazing loaf of bread which we were sent in the morning. when I say amazing loaf of bread, I mean a big block that smells like a bakery all on its own both my partner and I were singing its praises for hours on the train home. highly reccomend.

This land provides seasonal hire of a rural grassland non electric pitch situated within one of the site’s plots. Staying opposite to the long-established, Grade II-listed pub is certainly a big perk to staying down here. The pub serves traditional pub grub as well as light lunches from only a tenner, so you’ll have somewhere nice to eat out. Another big pull is the scenery over the surrounding hills. This is a site that welcomes families and groups of friends, and it's dog-friendly too (there’s a 4-acre woodland to the north of the site that's great for dog walking). The site has good TV reception for relaxing indoors on damp or chilly days. The popular village of Westleton (10 minutes’ drive) has a village store, a farm shop, a garage and 2 pubs; and if you fancy a change from cooking, there is also a nice pub and a tearoom, in the Darsham village area (only 5 minutes drive or a 30 minute walk away through some lovely fields). Back on site, there are a toilet cabins with hot running water, plus other facilities including 4 showers, a portaloo, and a washing machine, grey waste and chemical toilet disposal and recycling points. Wi-fi is nearly all over the site too. The shared facilities at the top of the site also has a fridge and a washing up area, with a warm water tap, a nearby kettle and a plug socket for charging mobiles. Lighting and wifi is also provided. Please not that dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, and sorry, no campfires are allowed at the moment.
