We are a family run farm situated in the beautiful Frome valley. The farm has a range of interests from the traditional Jersey milking cows to a community of workshops used by local craftsmen. The cafe serves cream teas from Easter to the end of September and pizzas are sold in evenings during the summer months.
Ours is a small family run camp site with the River Frome on one side, next to the medieval buildings of Stowford Farm. The river is suitable for fishing, boating, swimming and paddling. Historic Bradford-on-Avon is only a 5 minute drive and the City of Bath 15 minutes. For those who enjoy more rural pleasures, 200 metres from the campsite Farleigh Hungerford boasts the only river swimming club in the country, and you can become an instant member for a very small fee.

This family-run camping field on our laid-back livestock farm is full of rustic charm. Pitch wherever feels right—tent or camper van. Dogs welcome but must always be kept on a lead and cleaned up after (dog waste bin on site, otherwise we are a leave no trace site and you should take your rubbish home with you).
This year, we’re introducing the “Missing Camper Trail” hidden in the woodland—can you find Colin? You’ll also find a new zip line and a slackline for adventurers big and small. Mud Café and den building are still here, along with teddy bears scattered through the woods—no official trail, just hidden friends to find.
Also new this season - a handcrafted washing-up area built by Farmer Ben from wood right off our farm.
Coming soon: We’re hoping for showers this season, but we’ll update when they’re up and running.
Wild camping here means no electricity—just two lovely compost loos and a covered cold-water tap. So bring your guitar, light a fire, and soak up the simplicity... The way camping was intended.

Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. The Yurt is big and sleeps up to four very comfortably. It has its own stove and outside is a washroom just for you with hot shower , toilet and sinks. Your own meadow allows you to just relax and be.
Up on the campfield you can bring your own tent or hire a Belle tent from us with all the fittings to camp contentedly. Our new Wash House has hot showers, flushing toilets and basins. You can light a fire and cook up a BBQ or maybe just watch the world go by.
A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you.
We moved here after an 18 month search 11 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

It doesn't claim to be a forest, but it's a perfectly arranged woodland campsite, with pitches in grassy glades. We were the only ones there for our first night, but had quiet neighbours the second night. So relaxing and cool as shaded by the trees. We were welcomed by Sarah on arrival and had a great weekend. Thank you.

Lovely place to spend a night in the woods. Felt serene and safe, with beautiful areas to walk around. The little wood shed to buy small jars of local honey and eggs was a lovely touch even though we just took logs.

We really loved our time at Wookey Farm, the large pitches were the perfect amount of segregation from others (we were all adults so wanted a chilled out time), we had electricity loved having fire which there was a designated place for, and could park at our pitch. Our hosts were really lovely and kept everything clean and looking great, the animals and place to paddle were an added bonus. The name board on arrival was a really nice touch and everyone was really respectful who were staying there too. Solar showers in the future would be great, as that’s the only thing we really missed! Great place to stay all with in a few miles of Wells, Cheddae, Glasto and even the coast.

The way the field was mowed leaving wild grass and flower separations was lovely, it really attracted the butterflies. The field was pretty flat with the most stunningly amazing views.
Good facilities including drums and wheels for fire pits, kindling and logs also available at a reasonable price. Loos and showers were simple yet clean and pleasant.
Shaftesbury was a real gem, especially the ‘Hovis Hill’ & its free museum. The shops were really good also- especially the butchers, bakers, lovely old pubs and the ice cream parlour. We genuinely didn’t want to leave and are already recommending this site and its location to our family and friends.
Highly recommend a visit, you will not be disappointed.

I really like that every tent spot is far enough from the other so we have privacy. Also the fact that every spot has been levelled and with a fire pit is amazing!
We spent the summer solstice there and we had a delightful time!

Beautiful campsite that has the things you need and none of the things you don't. Good spacing between the pitches so it doesn't feel crowded. Monmouth and local facilities are a short drive away. Stunning views across the valley with beautiful sunsets. Highly recommended.

The bell tents here were beautifully set out and very spacious from other campers so it's very private! The sauna was gorgeous with a cold plunge shower and drinking water provided. To go back to the tent with fire wood, all in all made a relaxed and charming night. The hosts were lovely and will be definitely returning ta some point!

When to go
Summer (June through August) is the best time to get on the water, and events and festivals are often held along the riverfronts in Bath and Bristol. Boat tours and cruises typically run from mid-March to mid-October, although winter visits are still possible for private groups. Many campsites stay open year-round, but be sure to check for seasonal closures.
Know before you go
- The River Avon (or Bristol Avon) rises in South Gloucestershire and flows through Wiltshire, Bath, and Bristol, before connecting to the Kennet and Avon Canal and the Kennet Navigation.
- Sightseeing cruises or multi-day boat cruises along the River Avon are possible from Bath and Bristol.
- Most campsites in South West England require advance booking, and you may need to pay the full amount before arrival.
