A rural getaway doesn’t have to involve a long drive or lots of winding lanes to negotiate – and an excellent example of this is Beech Farm, in the West Sussex countryside about five minutes’ drive from Billingshurst. This site is about a mile and a half from the nearest A road, half an hour’s drive from the A3 and M23, and about 45 minutes from Junction 9 of the M25. All of that adds up to a quick-to-reach destination for residents of London and most of the South East, as well as easy access for those coming from further afield. This is a fairly simple site with just essential facilities (toilet block, rubbish area and chemical disposal point), but it’s all well maintained. It’s a laidback place where families, dogs and groups are all welcome, but please note that campfires and barbecues are not allowed for safety reasons. Bed down here and you’ll be in an excellent spot for all sorts of days out – the site is just outside the South Downs National Park for scenic walks and bike rides, and within easy reach of Chichester (40 minutes), the Goodwood Estate (35 minutes) and the beaches of the south coast (half an hour). Great camping spot with beautiful views. It is in a remote area, really peaceful and tranquil environment. The facilities are pretty standard for camping, a bit unclean but functional. I imagine most people don’t intend on spending much time in the toilets though. The site is relatively flat so great for sleeping. I would happily come back and enjoy this hidden gem again.

Just a great campsite, especially if you're into music and like to have free space to pitch. The Orchard is amazing but you do need to like life around you and I don't mean the wildlife type. Great for big groups. The Barn / club has amazing lighting (lasers) and sound system & a sand dance area + a heated swimming pool with fire pits. The restaurant does fantastic pizza / food with Tuscany vibe, lovely helpful staff and decent showers / toilets.

The Mead offers plenty of space for campers.

We loved Snelling Farm! Such a great space to camp on. There were quite a few others there but all spread out so never felt busy. The kids played for hours on the tyre and rope swings and the hay bale play area provided hours of fun. A central point where parents could see the children and know they were safe! So warmly welcomed by the team and the little shop on site open twice a day helped us with essentials like Purbeck ice cream as well as chipolatas and logs for the fire. Great position for local attractions like the Tank museum and monkey world. Really felt like we were miles from anywhere!

Such a gorgeous camp site will definitely return! There were lots of tents and campers around the site but still felt very calm and peaceful and plenty of space to pop up my tent :) The cafe was an added bonus and the drinks were lovely. The views from the site were amazing, only had to walk 30 seconds to the edge of the cliff and you had the most amazing view. When I arrived the staff gave lots of recommendations and help with the area. I took a walk to the pulpit inn which is about 20 minutes away and had a lovely dinner. Again I had an amazing experience and will definitely be back :) thank you!!

Great stay and great value. A rural, pretty field with lots of space provided a perfect overnight stop in our off-grid camper van. Level areas can be found and shade thankfully (it was 30c!). Slept beautifully and woke to a pink sunrise and the sound of a distant peacock! Other campers were quiet. Zero litter. Clean compost loo did the trick. Richard’s directions were excellent and he met us swiftly on arrival. Perfect. We leave with only happy memories.
