With a private valley, formed in the last ice age, acres of land and woodland to explore, our farm has a very special feeling which has been mentioned by every visitor. Occupied by some beautiful wildlife, including buzzards and owls, deer, badgers and foxes.
The Wagons have a grass roof, firepits, sleep 4 (in double bunk format), they are hand-made from reclaimed materials salvaged from the local town and other areas, double skinned and insulated with sheeps wool. They have a 2-ring gas-burner in the cute kitchen area, dining table and seating, and are the perfect home away from home.
All the decor is vintage, including cuttlery, crockery and even the childrens teddy's.
Being on the doorstep of Dalby Forest, there are hours of entertainment to be had. You can follow the stream at the bottom of the valley to the River Derwent or venture into the surounding woods. We can provide a guest pass (free access) for Dalby Forest.
The Wagons are not powered by electricity and are romantically lit by candles and oil lamps. Heated by cast iron gas heaters.

It’s all rather peaceful out in the South Yorkshire countryside, where Mooreacres resides. This dog-friendly site has a splendid rural setting in Hatfield Woodhouse, and activities around here are along the lines of gorgeous walks and birdwatching in nature reserves or kayaking, paddleboarding and open-water swimming at Hatfield Outdoor Activity Centre 35 minutes’ walk away.
If that doesn’t sound just splendid already, the centre of the local village is only around half an hour’s walk away. That means that pubs and takeaways are never too far off. The lakes at Hatfield Moors Nature Reserve are just a little further out (just five minutes’ drive, to be exact) and a scenic place for spying on birdlife, including nightjars.
When you fancy a drink or a bite to eat and you want it quickly, the closest pub is just 15 minutes’ walk away (they run a carvery and stone-fired pizza for the foodies among you). You'll sense the history all around you at The Old Vicarage, from the old house to the remains of the water mill in the river bed. 2 nights at Hollow Oak Glamping
We had an amazing stay here for 2 nights with my wife. Before arriving, I realised I made a mistake and booked the wrong date — I was actually one day late. I explained everything to the owner and she was so kind, friendly, and understanding. She told us we could still stay the full 2 nights with no extra cost, which we really appreciated.
The place itself was beautiful, very comfortable, and extremely clean. On the second day we visited the farm and honestly it was one of the best parts of the trip — we enjoyed every single minute there.
Everything about this stay was peaceful and relaxing. We would definitely love to come back again and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a lovely getaway.

What can I say! This place surpassed all our expectations. It’s even more beautiful than the pictures. Kellie is a fantastic, attentive owner who is close by for anything you may need. We were staying for my husbands 40th and was greeted with a birthday banner and a lovely welcome pack with treats for us and our kids. There’s privacy for the hot tub and lots of outdoor space for the kids to play. The setting is beautiful with sheep and geese & even a Shetland pony roaming free around you. The highlight for the children was getting up and helping feed the goats and chickens in the morning. We had a sunset BBQ with our very own fire pit and seating. Very clean. Beds beyond comfy. 100% recommend. Thankyou again Kellie!

Cannot recommend this property enough!
There are so many quirky and personal touches everywhere, its like a feast for the eyes, and we came back feeling very relaxed.
Great comfort and excellent facilities, didnt feel like camping at all, we will definately be returning and would highly Roe Deer cabins to any other camping novices out there.

We loved the log cabin. Took the dogs for a couple of days, the place is lovely. The weather wasn't the best, so after a couple of wet an rainy walks (which the dogs LOVED) we just hunkered down in there. Played games, drank wine, listened to music. Its perfect to hide away for a couple of nights.

Weekend Trip to Tipis at Ponty, Greener Camping
I don’t even know where to start..! What a find this place is, we loved it from start to finish.
Very boho-esque with yurts, tipis and wild camping. The owners are really lovely, and ensured we had everything we needed! We stayed in Rita, a wooden cabin with private outdoor space, an outdoor shower and toilet, cooking facilities, a fire pit, and generally everything you could need they’ve thought of. With views of the sheep too which come right up to the fence, it was just lovely 🥰
Inside was just as wonderful, super comfy bed, the linen was 👌🏼 so cosy. As you can probably tell, we didn’t want to come home 😂
There’s also a river on their land, so we took our picking blanket, some drinks and snacks, and spent an afternoon down by there, with a little go in their kayaks! Then spent some time in the sunset shack too looking out at the beautiful view.
Such a hidden gem, we’re going back again in the summer for a week 🥰
