This camper is new and well-stocked. It has heating and AC. The bathroom is small, but is hooked up to the city sewage. Note the bed is an RV queen size. Wifi is free. The camper is located between St Johns and Kenton in charming North Portland. It is safely located in the backyard of the property, and is surrounded by tall fences and shrubbery, allowing for absolute privacy. Beautiful yard with outdoor dining area and hot tub access (hot tub available starting September 2025). We are located a half a block away from the historic Columbia Park, with a long walking path through mature Doug firs, sports fields, pickleball courts and a play area/splash pad in the summer. There are many wonderful restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops located nearby. The neighborhood is safe and we have free parking. We are pretty quiet here:)

We provide linen sheets and a perfume-free environment. We only use natural cleaning products and soaps with essential oils for those sensitive to perfumes.
Kitchenette includes 2 burner stove, eco-sink, mini-fridge, cook/dish-ware, coffee and tea supplies, a water filter and outdoor grill.
NOTE: This is a rustic space!
A separate shower, bathroom sink and composting toilet are separate, but only a few steps away, right next to our 8' barrel sauna.
This space is ideal for anyone looking for a quiet place to land while they explore the city and/or endless nature in the surrounding areas - Forest Park, Mt Hood, The Columbia Rive Gorge, and the coast!

We have got the perfect place for you!
Camp on the edge of Forest Park and sleep underneath an evergreen canopy of Douglas fir and big leaf maple.
We have one large forest glade with room for several tents. We book only one group at a time, so you are guaranteed the place to yourselves. We can accommodate up to 15 people, with a max of 5-6 vehicles (parking is tight).
This is a hike-in only campground most suited to backpack style camping. The hike in has two short steep grade sections about 50 feet each. It takes 5-15 minutes depending on fitness level and load. This is not suitable for those with accessibility issues. Pack and dress for backpacking.

-Large fire ring with seating for 7-10 and cooking grate

Parking is separate from the campground! It is a brief but steep 1/4 mile hike to get to the main campground and latrine. Bring hiking shoes and pack light. It takes most people 5-15 minutes to hike up, depending on fitness level and load size . If you want to car camp, you will be next to a road and separate from the latrine and fire pit.
Enjoy several short trails on the camp's property before heading to Forest Park's
Wildwood Trail, which is just up the street, or check out all of the incredible natural and urban nearby attractions in Portland.

Our Garden & Galaxy Retreat in Portland, OR is a stunner. It is built with salvaged materials from nearby painted lady Victorian home that are the pillars at the entrance and the siding is from a nearby barn. The sliding door as you enter is a salvaged US Federal Building Door that glides on barn rails and it has the original mail slot in the door. The retreat is an indoor/outdoor experience as there are two walls that feature beveled shutters that open and the roof is a see through experience to watch the birds, wildlife and stars. The queen bed is super comfortable and there is a small desk filled with maps of nearby places to play. My home for the last 34 years; I have put care, love and abundance in creating a magical garden with surprises throughout. My desire to provide charm and delight has driven most of the details that also includes a pergola that has a swinging twin bed and chairs to gather and chat. There is gorgeous outdoor lighting for at night and hanging chandelier at night surrounded in the deep of summer with mature jasmine bushes that waft their sweet scent from May into September.

This is a great neighborhood spot to park with full amenities just outside of Portland, while having immediate access to 40 wooded acres with walking path and .7 mi to the Springwater Trail for biking/running. 25 mins to downtown Portland; Easy day trips that are ~30 minutes drive to Waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge (Bridal Veil, Multnomah Falls) or under an hour to Mt. Hood for time in the snow!

I was in town for a five day class and this spot met my needs well (short commute to downtown Vancouver). It’s spacious and there’s room for a small trailer. It is within eye and ear shot of a very busy highway though so bring your earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Great value. Ritchie has created a budget friendly peaceful oasis. Overall beautifully quite neighborhood (minus a couple of dogs barking on their morning walk and sound of pickle ball at the park which was pleasant enough ambiant noise)
Camper itself was adorably appointed and I appreciate Ritchie avoids harsh chemical cleaning agents making this a more synthetic chemical avoidant friendly location than I’m always readily able to find.
We had a relaxing time and grateful for the great location and ease of access and communication for a semi last min staycation

Perfect blend of nestled away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to just about anything you could ever want to do to entertain yourself. We were even blessed with clear sky views of the lunar eclipse. Also loved the security of knowing we were behind a coded gate for peace of mind. Definitely hoping to come back some time!

We loved camping here with our kid for their first camping experience. They loved all the little gnomes and fairy gardens hidden about. The site was spacious and had everything we needed and more. Very thoughtful layout and included amenities. The bathroom/outhouse was super cute and perfect for a more comfortable experience. The short trail up was perfect for a quick hike feel without being too much for the little one. The site felt very private and remote even though it was so close to the city, perfect for a quick retreat. We definitely plan to return and could see it being perfect for sharing with a couple more tents. The only thing I would change is bringing some ear plugs for the night. There were a couple of planes that woke us up, not super frequent but also not surprising considering being so close to the city. If you’re a light sleeper ear plugs could be a help.

(6) Wooded tent sites with clean outhouse near by. Went with my dog Duke, a Black Lab. Met the very friendly hosts when they took their dogs thru the hip camp site for daily walks. My dog loved the company of their dogs.
It is near Hillsboro Airport so you do get flybys overhead but otherwise very quiet. Could call on my cell but no internet connection which to me is a plus so you can focus on the nature around you and not all the crazyness going on in the world.

It isn't a quiet street and there are vehicles all hours.
While it isn't something they can control, they have neighbors who like to party into the night.
Having said that, if quiet isn't necessary for you, it is a fine place to sleep.

Ritchie was a great host! He made sure I had all the info I needed to comfortable in the camper, since I was getting in late at night and he wouldn't be able to show me in person. His home is in a nice neighborhood, next to a huge, beautiful park! I came without a car and had no problem accessing public transit from this location.
The camper itself was exactly what I needed: a comfortable, private place to sleep while I was in the city. The bed was comfy, and the shower was a godsend after a day of hiking and exploring the city. I definitely plan to stay here again, and I would recommend this to other solo travelers or a couple who doesn't mind being cozy.

Jerilyn was a wonderful and generous host! Her farm was spacious and entertaining with the animals and ducks, kitties, doggie and geese. One helpful insight would be that there is a free RV dump station down the road at Gee Creek Rest area off SB I-5 as we did not have sewer hookup available at our site that I knew of or saw. Thank you Jerilyn and family for your Hipcamp space.
