Ours is a small family run camp site with the River Frome on one side, next to the medieval buildings of Stowford Farm. The river is suitable for fishing, boating, swimming and paddling. We had the most wonderful stay at this little countryside getaway! From the moment we arrived, Jane was absolutely incredible - so kind, welcoming, and full of helpful information about the lodge and surrounding area. She’d thought of everything, leaving clear instructions for how everything worked, which made our stay effortless and relaxing. The thoughtful touches really made it special - from the freshly baked bread to the delicious shortbread cookies, everything felt homely and made with love. The setting itself was pure peace and quiet, surrounded by nothing but cows, trees, and the soft sounds of nature. It was the perfect place to switch off, breathe deeply, and just enjoy the calm of the countryside. We honestly didn’t want to leave - a hidden gem that we’d return to in a heartbeat!

Weekend Trip to Huckleberry Farm

Our getaway to Huckleberry Farm was a gift for my husband’s birthday. Everything from start to finish was really organised and fun. Met all of our expectations. Charlotte and everyone on site were really helpful and sweet. We enjoyed horse riding and seeing the guinea pigs. We stayed in the shepherd’s hut, a clean and well maintained space that felt like home for the night. All in all a wonderful experience. Completely recommend! Thank you Charlotte and everyone at Huckleberry Farm for having Ali & I. Looking back to visiting again sometime soon!

Spotlessly clean, the showers and facilities were as good as at home, the extra added thoughtfulness of clean bath mats tea towels washing up liquid and lots of toilet paper and hand towel and soap. My shepherds hut was delightful, and yet again everything I needed with the welcoming cream tea, milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, spotlessly clean as everywhere was. The windmill, the bakery, the café, my grandchildren loved the animals and the play area. There is absolutely not a thing I can think of that was not perfect. Oh I forgot to mention the games room. We had the best time in the Shepherd's Huts - it's such a magical place to stay, with beautiful views over the fields and even it's own little woodland walk. We spent two nights just us and our son, then my cousins pitched a tent on the third night. It was so peaceful to be surrounded by nature and have the place to ourselves. The huts were beautiful and cosy and the beds were comfy too. There was everything we needed to have a camping experience that felt both wild yet easy and with all that we needed. This is a lovely place to stay. The railway carriage was very comfortable and very well laid out, packing a lot of functionality into a cozy space. The grounds are beautiful and quiet. It’s just a short drive to several must see places like Bath and Avebury henge.

2 nights at Wingbury Farm Glamping

We had two excellent nights at Oak Pod. The boys (my three grandsons) really enjoyed themselves. The hot tub kept them amused and the campfire finished off their nights with the obligatory s'mores. The pub down the road was handy and the food good. We also spent an evening at the Indian on the way to Aylesbury. The pod was clean, well appointed, great shower, everything was there. Overall a fantastic break with my favourite boys

3 nights at Little Ranch Glamping

We had a lovely stay at Little Ranch. Rod made us feel so welcome and our daughter loved exploring the farm and meeting the animals. The hut is beautifully designed being both spacious and and cosy, with everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. The little extras on arrival really made it special. We enjoyed some nice walks along the canal, evenings toasting marshmallows by the fire and just really appreciated the peaceful location. We highly recommend Little Ranch and hope to be back again soon!

It was a really relaxing get away, the cabin is beautiful and well made. The canal view is really tranquil and calming. The cabin is well equipped and the beds are lovely The animals onsite were adorable. Lovely play area for the kids. A nice little place to escape to.
