Weekend Trip to Pytingwyn Woods

My 8 year old loves making dens and bases and has heard about wild camping that my wife and I used to do and wanted to do some himself. Since he isn’t quite up to a proper expedition at his age I went looking for a campsite where we could give him a taste of it and found this place. We camped in the woods within a few metres of the river. We cooked over fires and slept under a tarp shelter between trees, boiled water from the river and in his eyes lived in the wilderness for a couple of days. Just what we were after.

Great spot for a weekend camping. Lovely site that is well looked after. Harry was a welcoming host and the site hits just the right balance with all the facilities you need with compromising the feeling of simple camping. We will visit again.

Lovely well-maintained site. Quiet and spacious. We liked the meadow feel between pitches, good toilets and showers, plus the pop-up pizza oven was a fab bonus!

Lovely simple campsite Cheedale and monsale trail accessable by foot from site. Loved the fire pits and the no loud music rule. Would definitely stay again

Lovely campsite, in a lovely setting. 10 min walk into Knighton, 30 minute drive to Llandrindod Wells. Fire pits available to hire, lovely toilet/shower block. I’m sure we will be back 😀

We loved our couple of days on Janice and Paul's campsite! We received a warm welcome and it's a wonderful, rural site. We were there with our sprinter van and it was just what we needed. The facilities were always clean and just as described. We loved it! Hope to return soon. :)

1 night at White Peak Camping

It was as expected and more. What a great spot! Toilets, open fire, quiet. Looking forward to making it a yearly tradition. We stayed for 1 night as it was the first camping experience for my 7 and 12 yr old sons. They enjoyed the hike and the tinned food, burnt sausages, Basic rural living, no fuss. The site is what i come to love about the peak district. If all you want is a spot to pitch up, a great one.

We loved it. Amazing view, flat pitches, basic but clean amenities, great shop and incredibly quiet fellow campers. Highly recommended!

White peak camping is beautiful out of the way and a brilliant experience Even though our weekend had the best of the British unpredictable weather we still enjoyed ourselves and the facilities available was perfect for us to enjoy ourselves

Weekend Trip to Penn Meadow Farm

The campsite was fab! We were greated by two of the farm dogs that came with a ball in their mouth and the kids (3, 8 and 11 year olds) loved playing with them. They loved exploring the surroundings, discovering the goats, sheep, pigs and alpacas, it was great to have the woods for a walk too! they also loved the pile of hay bales to climb on! The facilities were great, showers were good and had good pressure, although there will be a queue if you camp on a bank holiday! Toilets were good and clean too and the little kitchen was a bonus! We had our own kitchen but it was great to be able to boil some water to add to the dishes before washing up and if ours had failed like it did once in the past we would still had been able to cook. I liked that there was rubish and recycling disposal too. All in all we had a great time and will definitely consider going back and recommend it to friends and family (only reason I wouldn't is because I want to explore so many other places and I might not have time to go back! haha) Thank you x

Weekend Trip to Penn Meadow Farm

We loved the site, and my son adored playing with the resident sheep dogs (who were impeccably behaved) the showers were lovely although more sinks would be useful to prevent queues for the loos with showers and basins when the camp site is busy. Free tea and coffee was a great touch and plenty of space! My son was enthralled by the owners motorbikes and they very kindly let him sit on them. They made his weekend! The only down side was the free roaming dog of another camper who wasn't paying attention to where their dog was and he stole food from the kids and wasn't being cleaned up after. I realise this is not the site owners fault but did impact on our enjoyment as we couldn't work out who the dog's owner was to speak to them.

Weekend Trip to Abbey Home Farm

We had a lovely time. The campsite is great and the facilities clean. The views were amazing and there was lots of space. I would definitely recommend the site. Worth noting the check-in time is 5pm. We were a bit late but found everyone helpful. it could have been difficult to sort though if we hadnt lucked out. So make sure you speak to them!

Absolutely perfect spot to go camping, we couldnt beleive our luck with this stunning hidden gem. Will definatly be returning with more people!

Weekend Trip to Four Winds Camping and Canoeing

We stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend with our 3 children and 2 labradors. We used our inflatable kayak on the river as many families did, I would just highlight that the river to the left of the campsite can get a little fast in the wind and can be difficult to navigate back to site. We walked into March and had lunch at The Acre which was good. Walk to March took about 45 mins, slow walking, however, to walk by the river all the way you need to cross over a bridge on a fast road- there is a footpath though. The site itself is well kept and the wardens are lovely. Gutted we didn't arrive on the Friday for Pizza night! The pitches are very spacious and there is plenty of room for the kids to play games and stretch their legs. People have a good time, however, remain respectful of the other campers.

Brilliant stay, owners always on hand with a quick response via messages. An email sent before arrival with local recommendations for food/hikes etc. The dogs loved it and we will definitely be returning.

Camping at panpwyton farm was excellent.the farm is within the hills of Shropshire with great views. Plenty of places to go walking. With a river running through the campsite which my lil one enjoyed playing in most of the weekend. Enjoyed the wake-up call of sheep first thing in the morning. Def be returning soon. Roxanne was a great host and very polite
