Me and my partner stayed at Chalky downs for 2 nights for a little get away ✨. Sharen’s land is beautiful, everyone is so friendly and we even got to order a sausage bacon and egg bap with tea and coffee in the morning! ☀️. We went into Brighton town for a bit of shopping and to see the sea, only a 14 minute drive and we parked in the station car park 👏🏼. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be going back! There were fire pits to hire and wood if we needed it.

Spotlessly clean, the showers and facilities were as good as at home, the extra added thoughtfulness of clean bath mats tea towels washing up liquid and lots of toilet paper and hand towel and soap.
My shepherds hut was delightful, and yet again everything I needed with the welcoming cream tea, milk, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, spotlessly clean as everywhere was.
The windmill, the bakery, the café, my grandchildren loved the animals and the play area. There is absolutely not a thing I can think of that was not perfect. Oh I forgot to mention the games room. Thank you

Peter was a great host and the campsite felt calm and quiet even at full capacity over bank holiday weekend. I would say the number of showers and toilets were appropriate for the number of campers. Absolutely wonderful site.
Not only was the pitch beautiful, by the lake and under an oak tree, but the owners went above and beyond to help us when we realised one of our tents was missing it's poles!? Even finding a tent locally for us to borrow!
What could have been a disastrous trip, turned into a perfect vacation. We have the amazing hospitality of all at archer's field to thank for saving the day and providing such a great campsite.
Simply can't say enough about this hidden gem of a campsite... We will definitely come back next season.

This neck of the woods isn't exactly known as England's camping epicentre, but for those in the South East of England it's a far cry closer than the national parks further afield and with charming local beaches, boat tours, walks along Burnham Quay, seals to spot and birdlife to see, it's certainly a beautiful place to pitch up in summer and enjoy the delights of the Essex coast and countryside.
