First of al Mark is a real gentleman and a great man. We stayed as wel in the granery as in the treehouse. Both are realy beautiful places to stay. The granary has more luxure and specialy the woodburner in wintertime is lovely. The treehouse is les luxery but a great cosy place to spend the night.

Highly recommend, my partner and I had a great time at Finlay’s cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for in terms of: how remote & private it was, outdoor and indoor fire & the hot tub! We also loved the unique structure and authentic feel… however a few things to note, for the cost per night(£180) I would expect: body wash & shampoo / hairdryer, better kitchen essentials, the coffee left was almost empty for example and old stuff was left in the fridge& top shelf was left completely wet.. I know it’s ‘small’ things but for the price you’d expect these things to be attended to.. for us we didn’t mind too much, but would have made the experience a lot nicer to have these things to improve the overall feel and experience. Also I felt that in terms of cleanliness, it could have been cleaner, many cobwebs & spiders, hair and dirt in the bath tub, messy outdoor porch area; we wanted to use the outdoor bbq and had to clean it very well ourselves.. for the price you would expect it to be clean and ready to use with coals etc however we had to make do with the indoor logs with no fire starter as only option was the chemical indoor one which we didn’t want to use to cook food on.. making it difficult. The hotub area is lovely, however we wanted to use it at night which proved difficult as no outdoor lightning, and indoor torch didn’t work.. some lanterns outside would be a great addition. Duncan was a kind host and has a very special plot!

Weekend Trip to Elham Treehouse
We had a truly wonderful stay in the Granary! Mark is the loveliest host we have ever met. Everything felt so genuine and welcoming. The cabin had everything we could possibly need, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Even though I am heavily pregnant, climbing up was no problem at all as the ladder is very sturdy 🌝
We loved our cosy evenings by the fire and sunny breakfasts in the little garden, enjoying Mark’s delicious homemade bread and jam. The setting is green, peaceful, and full of good vibes with friendly little robins, cats and dogs keeping us company.
We also enjoyed lovely walks in the area, a visit to the nearby village, and a tasty meal at the local pub. It was exactly the perfect getaway we were hoping for.

We stayed one night at Waterbury Farm and it was pure bliss. The camping shed was cozy and clean, with the kettle in a separate shed—making the sleeping space feel roomy. The highlight was the hot tub, perfectly placed for stunning sunset views. Soaking under the stars in total peace was unforgettable. A calm, beautiful escape with thoughtful touches and lovely hosts. Stayed in the cabin for one night. Beautiful location; cabin tucked away in the corner of the site. Owners extremely friendly and responsive. Shared amenities excellent. Would highly recommend

Weekend Trip to Elham Treehouse
We had a wonderful stay at the cabin over the Easter holiday. It was warm, cosy, and tastefully decorated,.There’s a BBQ area outside so we had a lovely BBQ. Mark was incredibly nice. he brought us fresh bread every morning, which was absolutely delicious! When it was time to leave, he even gave us a lift to Canterbury. Such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I’d highly recommend it to everyone!

2 nights at Elham Treehouse
We absolutely loved our trip! Wonderful scenery and mark is a brilliant host. The cabin itself was beautiful and cozy, not a bad word to say about anything. If you’re considering it as an option I’d thoroughly recommend you go for it :)

Weekend Trip to The Nut Plat Retreat
A fantastic cosy, quiet and romantic cabin, perfect for a little weekend getaway. The hosts are super accommodating and responsive but are also very respectful of your privacy. We arrived with both the fireplace inside and the hot tub fire already roaring. A fantastic experience overall would recommend to anyone!
And easy enough to access by just public transport if you don't want to drive :))

This neck of the woods isn't exactly known as England's camping epicentre, but for those in the South East of England it's a far cry closer than the national parks further afield and with charming local beaches, boat tours, walks along Burnham Quay, seals to spot and birdlife to see, it's certainly a beautiful place to pitch up in summer and enjoy the delights of the Essex coast and countryside.
