Weekend Trip to The Black Swan

Great experience, lovely comfortable Yurt and super close to the Pub for luxury. Great combo! Plus we saw red squirrels in the ground! The kids loved this trip.

The area was beautiful, and the views were amazing. The hosts were great and sold us wood for our fire both night's. Overall will be coming again and can't recommend enough to come here.

We had a wonderful couple of nights staying at White Peak Farm. It's a very basic campsite but that's exactly what we wanted, there's no showers but the toilets were very clean and fully stocked and big enough to get changed and washed in. My daughter absolutely loved the tree swing and the table and chairs scattered around, there were also plenty of bricks and barrels so we could make a fire. Janice and Paul were the perfect hosts, they greeted us when we arrived, went above and beyond when we had a request and let us see the newborn lambs. Matt was extremely helpful when bringing the firewood and helped us get it started the first night when we weren't getting anywhere! The farm is the perfect location from the local walks, we walked to Chee Dale Stepping Stones from the camp site. Morrisons is also 5 mins in the car if you need anything. We will definitely be back!

The campsite is in such a beautiful area, there are loads of wonderful walks nearby. It is high up, the walk back from the Monsal trail is steep but worth the effort as the field is so very peaceful...perfect if you just want great views, a loo, sink and drinking water. There was always plenty of loo roll and hand-wash. Janice and Paul very welcoming and provided lots of info. Have booked again for next month!

Had a great stay here! Turned up very late but the site was easy to find and there was plenty of space. Had dinner around a campfire before sleeping under the stars, then left early next morning. Would highly recommend if you're in the area! Also, my car is pretty low and had no problem driving through the farmyard to the campsite.

Had all you needed - showers, toilet, somewhere to wash up. Even had the possibility of a camp fire which kept us very warm during the early spring. Only a 10 minute drive from Buxton so very convenient. Also many Alltrails routes nearby for any keen hikers.

Quite and peaceful location. Although we were told 3 pm was the check in time, we had to wait more than an hour after we reach there to check in. Charlotte was helpful carrying our laugges to the caravan which is about 5 mins walk. Would recommend.

Weekend Trip to Deerstone Glamping

Me and my boyfriend spent two beautiful nights here in the domes. Katrin is simply wonderful super helpful and just a phone call away if you need anything. The dome was just perfect, beautifully clean and came with everything you could need to make the weekend perfect. The cinema dome was fantastic we used it two nights. The showers and toilets were so clean and had shampoo conditioner shower gel toothpaste and deodorant. The heater in the shower was perfect for the cold mornings. The hot tub was fantastic super clean and got really hot, we struggled the second night to get the fire going for the hot tub but with just a text message to katrin she was there sorting it for us with her beautiful little dog woody who came to say hello. There were two heaters inside the dome to keep you warm, also in the chest at the bottom of the bed there were cups, cutlery, mini table, fire starter, pans, bbq utensils, and much more to make your stay homely. The breathtaking views from the domes are just magnificent. 100% will be returning to the site with the kids and the dog. We can’t wait to come back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ended up staying in the bunkhouse as the weather wasn't great which was offered to us and ended up having a great night, the facilities were plenty and easy enough to use and the location was remote so we were able to have a peaceful evening.

Nice little campsite, clean toilet facilities and firepits available. Janice came round to see if we're all doing ok. If your vehicle is very low to the ground you may struggle accessing the campsite due to driving through the farmyard.

This is my kind of camping! Lovely location, great views and just the basics. Some great spots nearby to pick up provisions (Bakewell, Chatsworth Farm Shop) and a short walk to a pub. We'll definitely be back. Probably next month!

What a little Derbyshire gem: back to basics Whitehouse Farm Campsite is a simple site in a most scenic setting five minutes’ drive from the pretty village of Tideswell. The site’s central location in the Peak District National Park means it’s a top spot for those who want to ramble or ride bikes – several circular trails leave from Tideswell and the traffic-free Monsal Trail is a five-minute drive away. And there’s plenty more activity if you require it too, as activity centres nearby can sort you out days of horse riding, abseiling, climbing and caving. All this activity isn’t mandatory, of course – this is an equally fine location for days pottering off to local pubs, pigging out on pudding in Bakewell or taking a leisurely stroll around the Chatsworth Estate, 20 minutes away. And if even that’s too much, you’d be welcome to spend some time loafing about on site: there’s heaps of space here, and as facilities have been kept quite minimal (just showers and toilets) there should be a good serving of peace and quiet to go with it all. Guests are welcome to light up a barbecue or campfire for cookouts and keeping warm; Tideswell’s the place for supermarket supplies, and it’s also handily got a fish and chip shop and a couple of pubs for days when your firelighting skills aren't up to much.

Overview

Mountain bikers can take their pick of trails in Dalby Forest, set in the southern valleys of the North York Moors National Park. Miles of forests lead the way through the woodlands, and you can also explore on foot or on horseback. Kids have plenty to get excited about, too, with activities including a treetop adventure course, paintballing, archery, and orienteering. Stick around after dark as the park is also renowned for its dark skies and stargazing opportunities. The two campsites within Dalby Forest are reserved for use by youth groups, but campers can find plenty of options nearby.

When to go

Walkers and mountain bikers can hit the trails at Dalby Forest year-round, although it can get muddy after rainfall, so wear sturdy shoes. July and August are the busiest months, when it’s essential to book activities or bike rentals in advance. Spring and autumn see the forest at its most colourful, garnished with wildflowers or fall foliage, while autumn through winter is the best time for stargazing.

Know before you go

Dalby Forest is located at the south end of the North York Moors National Park, about a 30-minute drive from Pickering or Scarborough.
The Moors Bus runs to the park from Easter through October, otherwise you will need your own transport. Paid parking (credit/debit cards only) is available.
There are restrooms, a gift shop, and a café in the park. Bike rentals are also available.
Some of the park’s trails are wheelchair accessible, and mobility scooters are available for hire.
