A whisper-quiet diesel heater, mounted safely outside, keeps the cabin warm all night while you sleep surrounded by nature. Outside, a propane deck heater makes it easy to enjoy coffee or dinner under the stars. A Cuisinart tabletop propane BBQ cooks fast and clean — perfect for winter gloves and simple meals. You’ll have the entire property to yourselves. Once you step onto the trails, you won’t see other guests — just forest, snow, and quiet. Explore 10 km of private snowshoe trails, including 5 km of groomed routes through maple forest, ridgelines, and along the lakeshore, plus 5 km of quieter, backcountry-style trails. A winter highlight is the hike straight across the frozen lake, beneath towering granite cliffs rising from the shoreline. Snowshoes are available on site. Dogs absolutely love it here. With the entire property private, they can safely run, explore, and play off leash, following snowy trails, sniffing forest edges, and curling up by the fire at the end of the day. Your campsite and cabin(s) are nestled a half-km from our home, along a driveable path to the site, as long as the road is clear of ice and snow. You will have total privacy for you and your guests and yours will be the only rental while you are here! There is a main cabin that is set up for two people that comes with your rental. There is also tons of mowed space for other guests to camp, included in the initial booking price, or, if they choose, they can rent our sleep cabin that has room for up to 7 more to sleep in a bed in a cozy cabin. We are happy to host large, friend and family gatherings. There is an outdoor shower, outdoor games, three hard-topped gazebos, hammocks, scenic walks, a large fire pit with plenty of seating, picnic tables, and more! Weekend Trip to "Romantic" 4-Season Cliffside Cabin

We loved everything about our stay in the Cliffside Cabin and will definitely return. The cabin is cozy and inviting and kept us snug and warm despite the frigid -30 degree temps outside. The bed is heavenly; so comfortable for sleeping, and also surrounded by windows for enjoying the stunning views and sunset. The cabin strikes the perfect balance of rustic and convenience, so you get the charm and atmosphere of being off grid, but the comfort and ease of having lights easily accessible and sleeping through the night without having to stoke a fire to stay warm. The property is incredible. It’s totally private and has tons of beautiful wooded trails to explore. We snowshoed for hours and enjoyed the variety of trail types, from machine set to human set to making our very own in the deep snow! We were there during a nighttime snowshoe race so got to see all the headlamps moving very quickly through the forest from the comfort of the cabin after our own snowshoe adventure. Our dog, who is reactive and barky in the city, was able to be off leash and lived his best life from arrival to departure. He tired himself out exploring and put himself to bed early! Last but definitely not least, Mike was an exceptional host. He is responsive and thoughtful, offering to reschedule when I asked about the cold, and even offering to loan us his dog’s jacket when I said I might buy one. He is interesting and so easy to talk to, and we left his presence feeling uplifted. Highly recommend!

My partner and I LOVE staying here on our occasional trip up north! 20 Minutes from Gatineau Park and 35 minutes from Ottawa, it’s the perfect balance of time in the city and the beautiful countryside. Incredibly accommodating and kind hosts, it’s well worth a stay for any occasion :)

The cabin is beautifully built and well-equipped. Mike's communication is excellent, he went out of his way to accommodate us, and he is a pleasure to chat to. The hiking trails are well-marked and the walk to the lake is beautiful, even in the late fall with barely any leaves left on the trees. We spent a peaceful and restorative two nights, and look forward to doing so again.

We had an absolutely lovely, relaxing time at Mike's cabin this weekend. The cabin is the perfect blend of rustic and cozy, with many thoughtful little amenities that made us feel at home right away and eliminated the stress of packing compared to traditional tent camping. We were lucky enough to book with fall colours in full force and were treated to stunning sunset views both nights. With enough hiking trails and wilderness to explore to your heart's content, there was plenty of opportunity to mix in some adventure. We are eagerly looking forward to coming back soon and experiencing what winter at the cabin has to offer!

Choleena and Larry were the perfect hosts- super helpful, non-intrusive and even told us we could check out at anytime on our last day. The cabin was also great, very clean and well taken care of. The cabin was perfectly located with gorgeous views of Silver Lake. Site was very private and well maintained. Cabin was so cute and cozy offering all the comforts for a perfect glamping experience. Gazebo offered a dry spot to enjoy meals outdoors and the firepit was our gathering spot each night. Short walk brought us to the private beach site. Absolutely loved and would recommend 100%. This weekend was absolutely one of the most enjoyable weekends of my summer. It was so nice to unplug, Choleena & Larry ordered and set up an alternative to being able to have a fire during the ban, which was amazing, and it was so private and peaceful. I feel very refreshed and we certainly discussed coming back in the winter to further enjoy what the land has to offer. Not the mention the hosts are very thoughtful and ready to help. Weekend Trip to The Cabin - Cozy Rustic Retreat

We stayed in cabin 2 for one night. Kris was very welcoming when we arrived and was very helpful with showing us everything we needed to know. There was a fire ban but we still enjoyed the peace and quiet time. The cabin was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We definitely enjoyed our moms night away in this little place of heaven.
