Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
This unique 30-acre property was once home to a water-powered carding mill that processed sheep's wool, making a task that once took families months possible in a single day. The mill operated along the creek flowing from the pond to Grants Settlement Road, where remnants of the original earth berms can still be seen. The pond was once approximately 10 feet deeper and supplied the water needed to power the mill. Today, beavers maintain the creek and have created a thriving natural wetland habitat. The property's Old Mill Cabin, built in 2020 from salvaged beams taken from the historic barn on the property, was constructed as a family project and stands as a tribute to the site's rich history. Whether you're gliding through the snow-covered forest on the property's snowshoe trails, paddling across the peaceful pond on a warm summer day, or simply relaxing by a crackling campfire, this is a place designed to reconnect you with nature. Spend your evenings taking in breathtaking sunsets reflected on the water, roast marshmallows under a sky full of stars, and enjoy the sights and sounds of abundant wildlife. Bird watchers will appreciate the variety of species that call the pond and surrounding woodlands home, making every visit a new opportunity for discovery. From quiet mornings on the water to cozy nights by the fire, this property offers an unforgettable outdoor experience in every season. What we are offering is an off-grid experience.
