Come on out and check out the natural beauty Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman has to offer. Skokomish Park at Lake Cushman, formerly known as Camp Cushman or Lake Cushman State Park, covers over 500 acres with three boat-launch ramps on the 41,500 feet of freshwater shoreline on Lake Cushman. Park facilities include campsites, RV pull-thru and back-in sites, walk-in campsites, and two group camping areas. Plus, two fantastic day-use areas with picnic sites, a picnic shelter, and comfort stations located throughout the park. The natural beauty of the area can be explored on any of our trails. The eastern part of the Olympic Peninsula has loads of great trails around us in the Olympic National Park. Trailheads nearby include Big Creek, Mount Rose, Mount Ellinor, Dry Creek, Copper Creek, Wagonwheel Lake, Staircase Rapids, Big Log Camp, and Flapjack Lakes. Mount Ellinor Trail is rated 5 stars by many.

Campsite 98 is the best in the park, as long as you don’t mind a very short walk into the site. A cart is highly recommended unless you’re bringing in a minimal set up. There is a beautiful trail that runs through the middle of the walk in sites that wraps around to the lake. We didn’t bring our kids bikes and wish we had, there are several places for them to ride. The outdoor movie is awesome and has free popcorn. The lake is the best part and has so many islands to stop at along your paddle. It gets busy on Weekends but is well worth it. Big Creek trail is a great dog friendly hike a few minutes down the road.

South Group Camp
The group camp is great. Beautiful secluded spot. It is very removed from the main campsite, but has a shelter and 2 porta potties. Most drove over for showers or to use swim area. It has no water which we were not aware of so that it also something to note. It has a path down to the water which is lovely but the path is steep and could be improved. The lake was clear and beautiful! We enjoyed our stay.

The pics and description made it seem a lot more private. While it is more private than the inner park spots, the site is directly on the path that the other sites use to come in and out. Basically the sites are right on top of each other and people are walking through your camp all day and night. If you don’t mind any of that, it will be a great spot for you. Otherwise, you should rent all spots (97,98, and 99) to not have strangers walking through your camp. Another issue was people partying and yelling really loud, until 1am both nights. There is also no lake access from the camp ground which was a little misleading in the listing. For a plus, the bathroom was very clean and the lake is beautiful. We will come back for day trips only.

We came here to visit last year and absolutely loved it, so we were thrilled to come back and stay this past weekend to celebrate our best friend’s birthday. Once again, this park did not disappoint! There truly is something for everyone — outdoor games, kayaking, fishing, and of course, relaxing around a campfire. During the summer months, they even show movies with popcorn, which adds such a fun and unique touch to the experience. The park is very well maintained, the restrooms are clean, and the store is well stocked with anything you might need. The staff is incredibly friendly and always willing to answer questions or help out in any way. We made wonderful memories here and are already looking forward to coming back in 2027!

We camped Saturday-Tuesday at this spot! We definitely want to come back after Memorial Day when they do movies in an adorable outdoor theater set up. The lake is large and beautiful. Staff is friendly, they had packets and a little scavenger hunt for the kids which was much appreciated. As noted in the reviews, the sites are very close to each other, we felt a bit like we were camping with the neighbors next to us. WiFi exists in some spots, not at our site. No cell service. We would come back!

Skokomish Park on Lake Cushman was the most beautiful campsite we’ve ever visited. Extremely spacious/private forested sites including 30 full hook-up sites with paved and level pull-in drives. Very clean and extremely well maintained. Great walking and easy access to gorgeous Lake Cushman. There’s even an outdoor movie theater for a fun weekend night with friends and family.

Skokomish Park At Lake Cushman is a great campground. Very wooded, so it stayed cool all day. Most sites are fairly roomy; we had a 22’ camper and a 10 person tent with plenty of space between. Fun activities for the kids; scavenger hunt, yard games, playground, giant outdoor movie screen showing classics on the weekends (Shrek and Princess Bride for our weekend). Lakefront rocky beach, boat launch, kayak rentals, general store. We loved it!

The sites were REALLY tight. Probably would not rebook this site (#7). The host was not responsive. There was a wild fire and we didn’t know if the camp was impacted. I tried to reach out several times over three days with no response, so I wasn’t totally sure if our reservation was still a go. The day use area was also PACKED during the weekend. Lake cushman is magical, and this place is a great way to get access to it. However, I’d book a bigger site and go on week days if I can. Overall, wouldn’t repeat my experience.
