Sappy Hollow
Very nice place, and very nice host. Lovely water access just down the private road. The solo stove on lot is a bonus, along with a small grill. Would definitely consider returning.

Awesome camping spot. Very easy access to the river. The campsite was perfect for our group with a nice Solo stove, great spots for tents and plenty of parking. Beautiful views, close hikes, and the only sounds were a distant train and lots and lots of birds. The host was very friendly and available to answer questions. Highly recommend.

Sappy Hollow
We recently stayed at the Sappy Hollow Campground at Mt. Index Sanctuary, and had a great stay! Travis is a wonderful host, was very welcoming, meeting us at the private gated community, showing us around the campground, and answering our questions.
The few campsites are clean, large and private, with a picnic table, fire pit, and nearby sink and porta potties. The campground is spacious, with open areas ideal for families with children, and it's a short walk to the scenic Skykomish River. It's conveniently located in Index, just a few miles off of Highway 2, and is close to many nearby popular hiking trails, our main reason for staying in the area! I highly recommend it!

Perfect location for hiking the many trails in the area. Nice secluded site with amenities like sink and potable water, toilets. Also offered a shelter should a storm arise. Quiet and pleasant, site large enough for multiple people without feeling crowded (and we had two cars). T, our host is friendly and very accommodating. He went over-and-above to help look for a billfold I'd lost. It shows they've put a lot of work into this labor of love. There's even an outdoor community area and river access with Mt Index towering above. Lovely!

Sappy Hollow
Sappy Hollow was such an awesome place to camp! Travis was responsive and attentive the whole time. He had extra wood for our firepit as well. We're hoping to make this an annual trip. I 100% recommend this place if you're looking for some great tent camping.

The campsite was clean and secluded. We had everything we needed including emergency shelter if storms were to roll through. The outhouse was exceptionally clean. There was running water in case you need to clean anything or wash hands, just bring soap. Past the trees next to our campsite was a gorgeous view of Mt. Index. If hiking is your thing, there are trails nearby that are 10 min drive tops! T was communicative and friendly. We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back!

It is a perfect little getaway spot, with spectacular views, and river access (ideal for playing and cooling down as the water slows down. We found clay to play with, rocks, and sand too!) T provided some wagons (probably to haul firewood) that were a perfect toy for our kids and a vehicle to transfer beach toys to the river. T was attentive, ensuring we enjoyed our stay and had everything we needed. The town of Index is just a few minutes drive away, so are the most amazing local hikes and the "Espresso Chalet". We will be back for sure!

The Sappy hollow at Mt. Index sanctuary exceeded our expectations and by far one of our favorite spots on Hipcamp. Travis our host has done a great job with this place that makes feel like you are pitching a tent deep in the woods, yet still have great amenities like a portable toilet that was very clean, access to potable water, a short walk to river access and a gazebo with a super nice grill where we were able to share a meal and our dog was able to run around in the enclosed area. All in all, the reason we are coming back, is, because Travis made the process very easy and was always ver attentive without interrupting our stay.

We had such nice, easy time at Sappy Hollow. We got more than expected in terms of the fenced area for the pups and the river access. We had a lovely fire and peaceful privacy at our site. Our host pointed us to the amenities and features so we could settle in quickly. Thanks for a terrific stay.

It's a picturesque place not too far from Seattle. It has all the main amenities for comfortable tent camping. Our host was very accommodating. Highly recommend!

Well designed, beautifully crafted.
Clean facilities, graveled and maintained path and roads. Gorgeous views. Awesome tree “walls” for privacy and noise barrier!
Loved this spot, would love to continue to enjoy its wonders. Great host, great time.

I loved camping at mt. Index sanctuary. Cleanest bathrooms and so close to potable water. The area was drop dead gorgeous, river was amazing as well as the beautiful mountain backdrop. I have to say though, the thing that blew me away the most was how awesome and gracious our host was. He led us to the campsite and made sure we knew where everything was and that we were satisfied, this guy has worked so hard making such a beautiful oasis and you can tell. Super friendly and approachable. I will definitely be staying here in the future.

Very private and exclusive feeling camping area. Everything has been thought of and Travis is very easy to accommodate and gives very clear instructions so you’re never guessing where to get a resource. The camping spots are private from other camping spots and each offers distinct features around it that feel very thought out. The grass tent spot was very nice at the Sappy Hollow.
The addition of the fenced in river pavilion where you can grill and have a campfire while looking over a gem of a view of the river and have your dog off leash in its own fenced area made it feel like this was a private place of our own. Highly recommend!

T was an excellent host, we came up the weekend of the storm and he came around to let us know the storm was on its way and to make sure we had everything to be prepared. He answered all my questions quickly and was very accommodating. Sappy Hallow is a beautiful area to set up camp. Far enough way so you can’t hear the cars but close enough to run to town if you forgot anything. The river is a short walk from it and it’s next to some hiking trails. Overall a great place to go and we will be back for another weekend.

This is such an easy trip from Seattle as it’s right off highway 2. Directions were accurate and you cannot get lost. T is incredibly responsive and helpful. The campsite was very welcoming and comfortable. The pavilion area was great for kids and dogs as it’s completely enclosed. The beach access was super easy as well. Great for kids and dogs as well since it’s pretty shallow and takes awhile to get deep. It is a bit rocky so shoes are necessary. We found a small sandy spot that was great for playing.
Overall, the experience was lovely and we’d come back!!
