Peaceful grounds. A beautiful view. I recommend staying at the bottom for a clearer view less obstructed by trees. Alot of hikes and creeks in the area about 15 minutes drive from the campsite. Would come again!

Peace on Earth (Cicada buzz)
Gum Ridge is absolutely stunning!! My 5 year old and I stayed up on the ridge line overlooking the clearing with views to the Border Ranges and Mount Barney National Park. I had plans to explore the surrounding towns however instantly fell in love with the electric bush and didnt leave camp for days. We were lucky enough to have had a massive group of cicadas next to us that lit the bush up with vibrancy. Various beautiful butterflies the size of a childs hand float around you all day. The lower camp near the house has better views than the ridge line however was very busy down there. You will need a good all wheel drive or 4wd to get up to the the ridge as the accent is very steep. The entry to the climb has very loose gravel and rocks but the climb itself is bichemen. Peter was a fantastic host and greeted us on arrival. There is LPG gas refills available at his property if needed and has some semi decent wood to purchase if needed. You are also able to forage as much dead wood from the bush ground as needed however I would not recommend walking too deep into the tall grass as there are snakes about.

Beautiful property
Beautiful property, easy in and out. Lots of room for big group and to choose fire pit area. We are lucky we had no rain but if we did would be slippery specially for the kids so pack appropriate footwear. Lovely views and bush walks where we saw koalas.

Absolutely wonderful spot :) We loved it and would highly recommend. What a view! There's an abundance of wildlife and Peter was also lovely. We felt very welcomed and at home on his land, which was special. Very likely to visit again soon.

We'll be back, worth the trip🤙🏽
The owner of the property was helpful and friendly they directed us were to go on arrival. We camped on the top camp grounds which made for great views across from both sides of the ridge as we were over looking valleys below and mountain ranges in the near distance. There was a good cool breeze rolling over the ridge which made a for a good excuse to have a fire, we walked about 50m and gathered it from the bush nearby. Clear sky's at night made for some star gazing and saw some bandicoots around our camp too. We stayed two nights and would be happy to return in the near future with some mates. Overall, well worth the money, just a short drive from Brisbane, we'll be back.

Magical views, peaceful & wildlife!
Easy going family owned land with around 40 camping spots. We had the beat view imaginable. Kids were nice and came and helped us set up our site and came a few times over the weekend to walk the dog and have a pat. If your allergic to horseflesh make sure you stock up on repellent as there's so many of them. Amazing wildlife...saw my first bilby! ❤️ no signal for phones so it was fantastic!! Peter sells wood and also can re fill your gas for you if you need it or in the case you run out. Most spots have a built fire pit to use, so it was awesome. We highly recommend!!

My dog and I stayed for a night. Peter was helpful - no allocated sites was basically choose your own. I was lucky to get a site that has a million dollars view! Thanks Peter! Will come back again.

Beautiful Mountain Views
We had a great time camping in our caravan at Gumridge! The views out to Mt Barney are beautiful and worth watching the sunset and sunrise for. We stayed on a long weekend but there was still plenty of space between camps. Peter and his family are very friendly and visited us to make sure everything was ok with the rain and wind. He also made sure there was plenty of room for our setup before we arrived. There is a hint of Telstra reception at the top of the canpground.
