Platypus Hole Sarabah Stud
We loved our time at Sarabah Stud Platypus Hole. Such a beautiful, peaceful spot. Rob was welcoming and we loved meeting Tiger the dog. To be able to see platypus cruising around at dusk was magical! Can’t wait to go back

Lower Platypus Hole Sarabah Stud
Lower platypus hole at Sarabah Stud was great. We stayed 2 nights in the middle of summer and this shady spot by the creek was cool and beautiful. The swimming hole further down was great for a refreshing dip. If you don’t like portaloos, bring your own toilet ;)

Corn Patch Sarabah Stud
Tranquil
Quiet tranquil camping spot, only a handful of campsites well spaced apart. The only sound was the creek & neighbourhood cows, we enjoyed the best sleep. We stayed on corn patch, it was a good size for our van and came with a fire pit, picnic table and toilet. We have already made another booking on lower platypus, which had a nice view of the creek. We walked to the winery Saturday afternoon for woodfire pizza & enjoyed a good walk Sunday morning along Sarabah Road. Good spot!

Stoney Camp Sarabah Stud
Stoney Camp is a very private site well away from others. Very rocky in places but space could be found for a small caravan or swags / tents etc. We had a 5m caravan. Close (50m) from a beautiful swimming hole where we saw, at dusk and nightime, a platypus, eel and small to medium sized fish. The site has a fire pit. Rob the host is super responsive and helpful. Will deliver firewood to your site. Portaloo supplied just a short walk across a dry creek bed. Beautiful stars and outlook. As the Hipcamp site says, the amount of sun for solar is limited but we didn't run out of battery. Easy to get to and close to Canungra. Our second time to Rob's property (different sites) and we will be back. So close to our home (only 66km).

Highly reccomend this spot
Really enjoyed our stay here Robert is super friendly and site is very well kept we stayed here three nights and there was plenty of room for our party of 9. We did a bit of swimming at local water hole which was very relaxing and having a couple of wineries and attractions close to hand makes this spot even better.

The Mulberry Tree
Loved camping at Sarabah Stud. We had the Mulberry Tree site. Beautiful grass coverage and a nice distance from other sites so you feel like you have plenty of space to yourself. Creek is good for sitting in to cool down after set up and a short walk to the lovely swimming hole. There’s is no shade during the day so it is a bit hot in summer but at least the mulberry tree and shady creek is not far away. Kids loved the greeting by the friendly horses when we arrived. Rob is a great host, will be back.

Lower Platypus Hole Sarabah Stud
Lower Platypus Hole was a great site. Far enough away from other campers to feel private; surrounded by views of the water hole and bushland. Robert came by to check we had everything we needed on arrival and otherwise left us to relax. We were provided our own toilet facility which was tidy and well-stocked. It even looked like he had dried out the fire pit for us! We camped in Summer and were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable temperature at night. During the day the beautiful swimming hole provided welcome refreshment and was only a short stroll from our site. On site we had a lovely tree which provided some shade. I would definitely camp at Sarabah Stud again!

A great spot!
Such a great spot! Close to town. And a great place to stay to take a day trip to O’Reilly’s. Very quiet & peaceful location. Campsites well spaced apart. We loved the creek swim and found there was a lot of beautiful. Lots of friendly campers that we enjoyed getting to know. The toilet had a light inside that was useful at night. The long driveway in however was very stony & I had a few rocks scrape the bottom on the car. It wasn’t an ideal drive in for a 2WD.

Overall experience was good. They don’t have facility to put on rubbish not dustbins provided. Just for 2 water bottles he tried charging us $150 which he is calling as rubbish.

Stoney Camp Sarabah Stud
Beautiful spot along the banks of Canungra Creek. Tall hoop pines nestled amongst brush box and eucalyptus. Abundance of bird life. The creek has plenty of feed in and flows well with a terrific swimming hole. It’s not too deep and perfectly suited for kids. Lots of animals around, horses and cattle. Robert is a friendly and helpful host and is often seen with Tiger, his large cheerful dog. There’s plenty of clean portaloos and firewood is offered for sale. Thank you Robert, we loved this spot and hope to come back again some day.

Top Spot
Pumpkin Patch is a great flat grassy site with views of the valley and the hills in the background. Whilst you are not right on the creek it is only short walk to both waterholes for a swim. We had a great time there and will be back. Robert also supplies some of the best firewood I’ve had in years

Platypus Hole Sarabah Stud
Great for new campers
I thoroughly enjoyed my time camping at Sarabah Stud Camping. The Platypus Hole site is a great private spot on the end of the site. I didn't see the platypus but saw lots of turtle sunbathing on the logs! The description of the site was very accurate and I was easily able to find it following the directions and each site has its own toilet with a solar powered light.

Amazing place to camp. So quiet with plenty of space between sites. The water hole was beautiful and we saw the platypus as well as some turtles and a few fish. The winery within walking distance had amazing wines and the food was spot on.
