Such a beautiful location. The views were amazing. The hosts were super accommodating and kind. They were on site when we visited, and they offered to give my nieces and nephews a ride in their buggy. They had a blast. Kids and dogs loved trekking through the creek and exploring the waterfall. The open field was great for us to play all sorts of games. Played capture the flag at night. All in all a great time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10/10) This was my first Hipcamp trip and it couldn’t have been better. The property was peaceful, beautiful, and gave me everything I wanted out of a true camping experience — wildlife, wide open sky, and the kind of quiet you just can’t find at home. Even with storms rolling in overnight, it felt raw and real in the best way.

Exactly as advertised. Great layout for groups, enough flat land for activities, and beautiful surroundings. Great trails on site. We made the adventurous trek down to the river from this site which took about 30 minutes. Trail was a tough challenge but we enjoyed it. The compost toilet was very clean, and it was great having the wood shed next to the site. Great communications from ownership and everything was very smooth. Highly recommend!

I had a great night here on an absolutely beautiful spot of land. The adventure started on the final drive up to the property where you traverse some really cool backwoods roads to get to this absolute gem. The EV site was easy to find after entering the property and while Im driving a regular vehicle It would have been immensely convenient if I needed the EV charger or power hookups. Would have loved to spend longer exploring the property and hope to be back in the future!

Our group had a really nice weekend here. There were lots of trails to hike, a cool waterfall and a longer hike down to the Allegheny River. The area is fairly secluded which was a big plus. Would definitely recommend.

We had the best time camping! Exploring the land and creek was a blast. We only left the campsite once to adventure for a few hours in the surrounding towns. The creek/waterfall was amazing. Our dogs swam and we hiked down the water, it was too cold for us to go in. The site was very shaded which we loved!! Can’t wait to come back!

We had a great time last weekend. Quiet, clean, and private. 4 wheel drive is a must in inclement weather, but nothing an average SUV couldn’t handle. The photos don’t do it justice; the views are spectacular!

We had such a wonderful stay here as a family (two kids & two dogs! The site itself is absolutely perfect - peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by rolling hills and nature. At night, the view of the stars was breathtaking, and during the day the beauty was just as striking. We loved the short hike to the waterfalls, complete with a natural swimming pool, and I especially enjoyed relaxing in my hammock over the creek with one of our dogs. The owners and their family were so kind and welcoming - they even invited our kids up to play with theirs when they stayed a night at the site above us. Truly good-hearted people! The site was affordable, close enough to Pittsburgh for us to get away without going far, yet still felt like an escape from the chaos of everyday life. We’re so grateful to have had the opportunity to share in this special place!

Great experience at River Ridge site! Clean, shaded, private, plenty of flat space to easily pitch our tents. Of course the view is great. Nice areas to hike/walk around. Composting potty clean and surprisingly odorless (my first one and I wasn't sure what to expect). Hoping to return and explore more. Fantastic place to get away. Chris was great about being quick to respond to messages, it was nice knowing I'd get a fast answer if there were any problems (there weren't). He gives great instructions regarding driving up to the site and what to do and not to do - listen to him, because he was accurate in his description of the path to get there and what to expect with your vehicle (I'm saying that because in the back of my mind I thought nah, it will be fine to drive my minivan. And I'm just lucky I listened to him and brought the SUV instead. It wasn't muddy at the time or dangerous or anything but....he's just correct).

Absolutely loved our stay. The waterfall trail was a short walk away, and the field area was a nice size. The area was beautiful. We forgot a couple things, but thankfully there's a Dollar General about 18 minutes away.

The camp site was secluded and very shady. The ground had several spots that were even and flat, perfect for tents. We loved the little trails tucked around the grounds. The small waterfall and creek were perfect on a hot day too. The jewel of the grounds was the view though. An absolutely stunning overlook of hills and the river, just a short hike from the pine forest site. If you are looking for a campsite that feels like your are alone in the woods this one is perfect.
