Northern tableland property with a boundary on Tenterfield creek. Open creek flats running back to timbered hills and gullies. Part of the Donnybrook range which straddles the Queensland/New South Wales border. The creek is on one of the major waterholes on Tenterfield Creek with the lower section being shallow rapids with small rocky pools. It supports native waterbirds, wildlife, & platypus have been sighted. The property has been sensitively cleared with areas of open woodland & dense tea tree & wattle scrub. When the season is on there are many native wildflowers & flowering plants. Kangaroos & wallaby are often seen. Dog friendly. No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace.

Very friendly host! Beautiful and piece full campsite with river access. Owners were lovely enough to lend us some kayaks and the dogs had a blast. Would definitely return

Thawungali Creek Campsites
Beautiful, peaceful location. We enjoyed the abundant bird life along the creek. Recent rain has greened the grass, but very sad to see the land still in the grip of drought.
