My cedar log cabin burnt down about one month ago and so i am rebuiding a tiny home. The old burn spot has been raked clean with an excavator and can now be a very basic camp site. This is an Offgrid Reserve where we are working toward a sustainable reality and have a special focus at this time on Wild Edible Medicinal Plant harvest and preparation. and Extra available: Walk with Ian in the area and learn about all the edible plants in season or being processed Slocan Lake and Valhalla Provincial Park is visible from the property.This is a very plain and simple spot at the bottom of our hill - there is a decent view of the Valhalla mountain Range and the lake. You pop in a 23 liter pickle bucket which is later composted. We can provide water or you can bring your own. The water we drink is direct from the creek. You are welcome to go where ever you like on the property - you do not have to stay at your site - we have dogs that sometimes roam - but they are gentle and often entertaining. They also protect you from wildlife so you can sleep safe.

Wild Flower Hill

Off grid camping

If you like getting some Kootenay vibes then this is a great spot. Perched up on the side of a mountain, you have an expansive view of the north end of the Slocan Valley and the lake. Town is but a few minutes away and many hidden away beaches and fishing spots await to be explored close at hand. I drove a 15’ trailer up there with no issues but I have a good 4x4 and the trailer is sorta off road. Definitely only recommend small trailers with a 4x4 with 4 low, otherwise happy tenting! Host is very helpful and available.
