Come play in the area and camp on your own private acreage at night. We have 3 designated tent/truck or car campsites at the moment. We will be developing a few RV slips soon and geothermal pools so please watch for that in the future! Learn more about this land: Hagerman / Buhl / 1000 Springs Area. Tired of large commercial campgrounds? We understand. Camp with privacy and space. On6acres is a lost piece of private ground in the Snake River Canyon only 10 minutes from boat launches and hot spring baths in the Thousand Springs area. A 6.5 acre sloping desert with canyon views, ponds, native plants and trees. Including turkeys, deer, eagles, hawks, fish, rabbits, lizards, otters, and many other wild animals. **This is a natural, untouched, raw property. ******Please set your expectations correctly. Please arrive to camp before dark, thank you!! **Note: Maximum TOTAL length we can accommodate is 22' (vehicle AND trailer). Perfect for tent camping, campervans and very small trailers. This is due to the narrow turn around radius. If you are pulling a small trailer, make sure you feel comfortable turning around and backing up. *If the weather is rainy in the 2 days prior to your arrival, we may need to ask you to cancel your booking. Overview

About

Idaho is famous for their potatoes, but did you know they have another claim to fame? In Hagerman, Idaho you'll find the largest concentration of prehistoric horses in the world. So many fossils were found here that the Hagerman Horse became the official state fossil.

For those wanting to get a close look at the first true horse, stop by the visitor center. Here you'll get a look at a full-scale mounted replica of the famous Hagerman Horse. Don't worry, there are also plenty of real fossilized bones on display. Traveling with kids in tow? Children between the ages of 6 and 12 can complete a set of activities to become a Junior Ranger. Pick up your free activity book at the visitor center.

After getting a feel for the area, most folks head towards one of two scenic overlooks. The Snake River Overlook provides a spectacular view of the monument, as well as 600-foot bluffs. Due to erosion, you'll see the bluffs are made up of numerous layers of sedimentary rock. An amazing sight for any geology or paleontology enthusiast. For those looking for a more modern perspective, check out the second overlook. The Oregon Trail Overlook shows where pioneers once carved a route out west. If you look close enough you can see the original wagon wheel ruts!

With so much to discover in the area, you should plan on staying several days. Why not sleep in the great outdoors like the pioneers did? Hipcamp can help you search public and private campground listings for cozy spots to rest.
