The 5k Stay on Highline Road

11 sites ¡ RVs, Tents142 acres ¡ Lillooet, BC
Situated on a mountain plateau overlooking beautiful Anderson Lake there is a rugged beauty to this land. Through a quirk of geography, our land is remote and wild while only being a 3 hour drive from Vancouver. Located at the beginning of the Highline Road popular with adventure seekers, this property is about a 10 minute drive from the Anderson Lake boat launch in D'Arcy. The lake is a fisherman's dream known for its rainbow and bull trout. Paddle boarding, hiking, biking, and motorized sports are among the activities enjoyed in the area. Upon ascending the initial gravel road climb, you will be greeted with fantastic mountain and lake views. Pines, cedars, firs, birch, and aspen make up the forest cover while junipers and wildflowers find their home in the clearings between the trees. Hot during the day and cool at night, the views truly glow just before sunset and then again as the moon rises to cast pale shadows on a land free from light pollution. The property is still under development, so please excuse the mess as we build out our off-grid spa and amenity spaces. Currently we only offer a compost toilet, but stay tuned for a further refined experience that will include access to water, showers, 6 person hammocks, and trails. At this time we do not allow fires due to local fire ban, but CSA approved propane fire pits will soon be available for rent.

The best camping near Nairn Falls Provincial Park guide

Overview

About

Just 20 minutes north of Whistler off the Sea-to-Sky Highway, Nairn Falls Provincial Park is an excellent base for exploring Whistler, the Pemberton Valley, and nearby Garibaldi Provincial Park. The park’s falls are the primary highlight at 60 meters high with a viewpoint accessible via a fairly easy, 1.5-kilometre hiking trail. The park’s forested campground consists of 94 vehicle-accessible campsites close to a waterfall and hiking trails, including a portion of the Sea-to-Sky Trail to One Mile Lake. As the park is located in a mountainous and treed location, the weather can remain cool even during the summer months. Wildlife viewing may be common, particularly in spring.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Make your plans early to reserve a campsite in Nairn Falls Provincial Park. You can reserve campsites two months to the date of your arrival, beginning in March.
  2. All campsite reservations must be made by phone or online at Discover Camping, the BC Parks reservation portal. When reservations are not available, all campsites function as first-come, first-served.

When to go

Nairn Falls Provincial Park is busiest during the summer months of July and August and into September. Springtime may still see snow on the ground, fewer crowds, and the possible emergence of wildlife. In winter, the campground is closed and trails are not maintained, so visitors use them at their own risk.

Know before you go

  • This park is an excellent overnight stop before continuing onto the scenic Duffey Lake Road to Lytton.
  • Nairn Falls Provincial Park doesn’t have wifi, and cell phone service can be spotty.
  • Campfires are permitted and firepits are provided at each campsite. However, park operators encourage visitors to conserve wood and protect the environment by minimizing the use of fires and to bring a portable stove for cooking instead.
