The property has been in the Monge family since the 1940's bought by Jose Monge Marquez. The campsite is located in a private property in the outskirts of El Yunque Rainforest in the town of Luquillo. The campsite areas and facilities are about 8 out of 43 acres of all the private property of rainforest, flowers, palm trees, and various fruit trees.
The Sabana River, one of many that originate from El Yunque National Rainforest, the river goes through the property. All the campsites are close by the river with each having their own access and individual fire pits.
The local attractions are:
-El Yunque National Rainforest 15 minute drive up the mountain.
-Las Paylas rockslides (2 minute drive & 8 minutes walking).
-The Luquillo beaches which are La Pared, Playa Azul, Barneario de Luquillo. Los Kioskos de Luquillo, ect. (10 minutes drive).

Pueden caminar al rio (15 minutos) dentro de la misma finca. Visitar otros rios cercanos a minutos. Hay supermercados y panaderias a 3 minutos. Se llega por carretera principal. No necesitan 4x4 el camino esta excelente.

My property is located near El Yunque Rain Forest. Walking distance from several river spots.
You have to park outside, in front of the house, go through the gate, and walk down to the site.
Preferable to arrive at property before sun down. Also, be conscious and try to not arrive here late at night waiting to get help etc.

At the end of the land there's a lil creek.
Definitely good area to do bonfires or use the firepit.
Back in the day, The Boys Scouts of America, used to come here to camp. I myself was a boy scout😁 so I think is a good place to come, camp in a quite surrounded area with many trees doing a natural fence. I got fruit trees planted that are ready to go as soon as the fruit is ready to grab. There's more to mention but I'll get better with this profile thing ☺️

At that time as certified HG instructors we thought ok lets try..came down here with our backpacks, a few hang gliders, and figured we would see how it worked out. Renting places to stay for a few years and including rooms for visiting students we had this opportunity to get and fix up this old house. It was a continuation of my dream to have a back pack travelers , adventure travelers, artists, LBGTQ friendly, off the beaten path type of place to stay.
And so in 2004 Barefoot Travelers Rooms and Adventures Guesthouse was born.

Things to know before you book:
*This is a Glamping tent with a queen-sized bed, a fan, one electrical outlet, and no air conditioning.
*This Glamping accommodation is only for two persons
*Visitors are not allowed
*This is an adult only accommodation
* No pets allowed, including service animals or emotional support animals, due to host health concerns.
*In this two-acre land property are located two glamping tents that share 1.5 bathrooms and a small kitchen with two fully equipped tiny houses all of them with their area but sharing the patio, gazebos, and pool table.
*Even though each tent has its open shower with cold water, just a few steps from your tent you will also have access to an outdoor shower with hot water.
*During the day it is possible to hear some music in the distance from the river above Casa Parcha visitors.
*We have direct access to the river so safety information must be signed by our guests on the reservation day and if you go swimming or exploring you go at your own risk. We have no lifeguard on duty.
*We are also surrounded by nature that maybe you will want to explore, please do not hesitate to ask about the risks, you can enjoy nature but always exercise good judgment. You can also ask about adventure tours guided inside the forest. ***You are responsible for your own safety***
*No refund will be done due to insects, animals, or things from the forest, remember this is their habitat and we are the ones living in their ecosystem.
*Please remember, there is no Wi-Fi at the property.
