Because the dome is made entirely of glass, sunlight warms the interior during the day. As a result, the space tends to stay warm (not hot) even with air conditioning running and won’t cool as much as a traditional insulated room. However, on cloudy days and evenings with little sunlight, the dome feels quite cool.
The 3-ton air conditioning unit and fans circulate air and help reduce heat, but when the sun is shining, it won’t get cold inside.

Like most folks who’ve been bitten by the water ski bug, I dreamed of having my own lake and when I met my life partner Harald, an elite slalom skier, my search began in earnest. By a combination of good timing and good luck, I was able to make that dream come true and in the spring of 2014 I acquired this land with the hopes of building my dream water ski lake on it. 7 years later, we have a thriving water ski club and are constantly making improvements to the site. Established in 1870 as a mixed farm for new immigrants to Canada to settle and begin their new life in Canada. In the early days the farm housed dairy cattle and pigs. Had pastures for cattle to graze and grew corn and wheat for cattle feed. In the 1980's the farm was rented by the University of Guelph to house their goat research livestock.
Our family purchased the farm in 1998 to raise our daughters. The farm is located beside Trish's home farm, where she was a dairy farmers daughter growing up. Dean was raised on a beef farm. Dean & Trish meet in University studying agriculture.
We began a beef business, and marketed our farm products through our website, www.whisperingmeadows.ca until we sold it to a young couple in 2016.
Dean & I care about the land and the environment very much. Over the years we have have worked with the local conservation organization to plant treed wind erosion areas, improve farm drainage and grow crops using no-till practices.
In 2010 we were awarded the Pasture Conservation Award by the Canadian Cattlemen Association.
We take great pride in our farm and ensure it is managed using the best farm practices available. We grow a roation of corn, soybeans and winter wheat for food production.

Ben Howe (Blue Hills in Gaelic) is a state of the art carriage driving facility in beautiful southern Ontario. Conveniently located 45 minutes north of Toronto and 30 minutes from Pearson International AirPort, it offers the best of both worlds both rural and urban. Visitors may book farm stays where they can participate in the daily operations of the farm and take riding or carriage driving lessons as well as enjoy our pool, 76 acres of managed forest with 5+ KM of hiking and riding trails and explore the heritage of the local surroundings. Primitive camping is not available at this time but is planned for the future. We have one full service RV site or you can stay in our spacious, fully equipped Thor Magnitude Class C motorhome. You can also book our modern, two bedroom apartment located over our carriage house that is actually full of carriages!

Established in 1870 as a mixed farm for new immigrants to Canada to settle and begin their new life in Canada. In the early days the farm housed dairy cattle and pigs. Had pastures for cattle to graze and grew corn and wheat for cattle feed. In the 1980's the farm was rented by the University of Guelph to house their goat research livestock.
Our family purchased the farm in 1998 to raise our daughters. The farm is located beside Trish's home farm, where she was a dairy farmers daughter growing up. Dean was raised on a beef farm. Dean & Trish meet in University studying agriculture.
We began a beef business, and marketed our farm products through our website, www.whisperingmeadows.ca until we sold it to a young couple in 2016.
Dean & I care about the land and the environment very much. Over the years we have have worked with the local conservation organization to plant treed wind erosion areas, improve farm drainage and grow crops using no-till practices.
In 2010 we were awarded the Pasture Conservation Award by the Canadian Cattlemen Association.
We take great pride in our farm and ensure it is managed using the best farm practices available. We grow a roation of corn, soybeans and winter wheat for food production.
Ideal for a quiet getaway or short-term stay. High-speed fiber wi-fi is included allowing you to work away from the office.

Excellent stay for a romantic getaway. If you think a wood burning sauna big enough for 4, a shower big enough for a table and bench, and a hot tub just outside your door makes for a perfect getaway, this is your place. The fridge was big enough for a three night stay, unlimited firewood, and all the oils, lotions and scents one could ask for. Truly a great place to be with the one you love, and your dogo. Could there have been a table inside for us nerds to puzzle on? Sure. But the floor works too. Would go back.

My partner and I loved staying in the dome, our dogs had a blast playing with Max and Ruby too, sweetest pups I ever met. It was amazing sleeping under the stars and the moon. It was like camping but a lot better. Mitch was very attentive and made our stay an 11/10. If you forget something civilization is close by so don’t fret. The pond and the land surrounding the dome is breathtaking. If you want to sleep under the stars surrounded by nature add this trip to your bucket list you will not be disappointed !

Beautiful cabin. Cozy, warm, fun games and amazing scenery. Waking to the lake view down the path is a must! My now fiancé proposed during our stay and it was such a beautiful place to do so. Highly recommend! Ann and her husband were great hosts.

Such a lovely place to relax and get cozy! The A-Frame is super comfortable and cute, outhouse was clean, shower with heated water was amazing, and hot tub/sauna was definitely a plus! We had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone looking for an opportunity to connect with nature. Wish we had more time there! Ann and Brian are also lovely hosts.

Wow! We came in mid October to see the autumn colors. What a great experience! First off the hosts are amazing and very helpful.
The lodge itself is very comfy, the bed is super clean and comfy as well. There's enough firewood for the whole stay (2 Nights). Oh and our dog loved it as well!
The place is around 20 min drive away from any nature hike, and there are plenty in the area.

When I arrived, I like the fact that the host was very informative. She gave us a tour of the location and a relaxing atmosphere. We really enjoyed the cabin. It was really very pretty. We had such a wonderful stay at Viva Vila’s A-frame cabin! The host was incredibly warm and welcoming, which made our experience even better. This was our very first camping trip with our dog, and it couldn’t have gone more smoothly—we all absolutely loved it. 1 night at Grindstone Creek Farm in Burlington
So lovely! Amber, husband and all staff were incredible, welcoming and hospitable. We loved staying right with the animals and enjoyed exploring and interacting with the animals independently as well as being invited to feed the animals apples & even bottle feed the babies (I assume we got lucky and this isn't always an offer).
The living space is also wonderful.
Comfortable, clean and stocked with all that you need.
Would recommend this to anyone and stay again anytime!
