Willow Lane Farm is a Heritage Breed Poultry farm that runs a
small rescue/sanctuary for livestock.
The Main farm is situated on 60 acres which backs onto crown land.
There's open fields, forest, wetlands and paddocks full of all sorts of animals.
Towards the back, there's
several small ponds and a river that runs through the property.
Located in the north east corner of Sudbury, in the town of Hanmer, Ontario.
Sudbury is known as the Blueberry Capitol.
The small mining town has grown into a good sized city which is situated in a crater.
It's prime location is a haven for geologists, blueberry pickers, snowmobilers, and fishermen. With over 50 lakes close by, and lots of ATV/sled trails, it's a great recreational place with lots to do or sit back and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
Animals are welcomed. And Paddock space is available for Horses, riders and eventers looking for a place to stop over, rest or excersize their livestock.

Welcome to our family-friendly farm! We are open year-round and are located in Hanmer, Ontario in the Greater Sudbury area. While staying with us, we encourage you to take a farm tour, try the petting zoo or enjoy the scenery.
With over 60 acres of farmland, our private and secluded campsites are level and are ideal for any type of camping, from tents to large RVs and everything in between, we can accommodate anyone looking to get outside and enjoy the outdoors. The property offers flat farm fields that back onto wooded areas with a river, pond, and nearby hiking trails!
A firepit is provided (Firewood available to purchase) and if you are planning on cooking we have pots and pans upon request. If you need water please feel free to fill up at the house. We also have an outhouse on site.
30 lakes are within a half-hour drive, great for fishing! Sudbury is in a crater, so there are lots of interesting rocks to see if geology interests you. We also have many trail plans for ATV and snow machines (permits required). Seasonal blueberry picking is also available on-site. We are only 10 minutes away from the Train Museum, a must-see while in the area!
Pets are always welcome, as are riders and their mounts.

Our stay at Site 1 on Matt's property was exactly what we were looking for. A peaceful and private site with everything we needed.
My pup and I enjoyed a quiet night watching the gorgeous sunset before turning in.
Unfortunately due to some poor communication on my part and odd arrival/departure time, I did not get to meet Matt. But we would absolutely stay again for longer next time we're in the area.

I truly had such an amazing time here and can’t wait to come back! I came home and have told everyone in length about the most knowledgeable farm tour I have ever been on (although I don’t have many farm tours to compare it to). Either way, I learned so much about chickens and turkeys and birds of all kinds! As a young woman travelling alone, I felt safe and comfortable here, would 100% recommend.

We caught PG in its infancy and what a treat. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The sites a huge. The put in at the lake is exceptional, with a fabulous dock and small sandy beach for easy access for canoes and kayaks. The birding was also amazing. The river was fun to paddle, but the many beaver are hard at work, and that's just nature. We look forward to seeing the next stages of development.

The site is on the lake and was quiet and peaceful. I had 2 retrievers with me who loved being able to swim. The hosts invited me to join them at their bonfire in the evening which was incredible. It excelled my expectations, could not have been a better fit for my visit. Thank you.

Cabin was nicely furnished and fit me, my husband, our large dog, and 8 month old son very well. Large mostly flat grassy area was perfect for the dog and the baby.
We saw Kevin when we arrived & he was very nice and helpful. After that, we didn’t see a single person for the 3 days we were there.
Saying hi to rusty on the way to the lake was cute and made me laugh. Not a very groomed trail, was nice and easy enough but definitely tripping hazards for anyone with any mobility issues. There is also a large step up into the cabin so bring a sturdy stool if you’re coming with youngins or others who may have a hard time with that.
Fire pit came with racks was great for cooking and keeping warm late at night.
We had a great time in this private off grid cabin, would definitely come back another time !

Matt was very welcoming. I visited the horse, the sheep, the chickens, the geese. While I was there some neighbours were also there. There was a sense of kindness and community that I walked in on and I felt immediately welcome. Matt has several projects on the go and I was allowed to help.

This was a beautiful and secluded campground with the necessities like pit toilets and a wonderful office with all the info you may need. This was my first time ever staying in Canada and I feel I got the perfect mixture of wilderness (with beautiful star gazing) and safety in an unknown country. Thank you for such a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to come back

Lily Pad is a great grassy spot with the woods behind you and a gorgeous view of the lake in front. Marianne is a super kind and helpful host and we felt very welcome. We had a really lovely time and definitely plan to return. :)

We had such a great time! We foraged for wild blueberries with the grandkids and enjoyed a great tour of the farm with Farmer Matt who gave the kids horseback rides. A very memorable stay!
