This is a secluded and quiet property tucked back off the road in the bush. Lots of room to roam, trees to relax under and let your dogs run. We have three dogs that roam the grounds and are a welcoming committee. We have lots of sites tucked into the greenery for privacy. We operate a vintage trailer restoration shop on site and have lots of interesting units around. Lots of firewood available, a shower and bathroom indoors along with fridges, coffee maker, microwave and fresh water for some guests.

Established in 1870 as a mixed farm for new immigrants to Canada to settle and begin their new life in Canada. In the early days the farm housed dairy cattle and pigs. Had pastures for cattle to graze and grew corn and wheat for cattle feed. In the 1980's the farm was rented by the University of Guelph to house their goat research livestock. Our family purchased the farm in 1998 to raise our daughters. The farm is located beside Trish's home farm, where she was a dairy farmers daughter growing up. Dean was raised on a beef farm. Dean & Trish meet in University studying agriculture. We began a beef business, and marketed our farm products through our website, www.whisperingmeadows.ca until we sold it to a young couple in 2016. Weekend Trip to Tincan Ranch

Fantastic little well-equipped bunkie with excellent privacy on a quiet and spacious lot! Chris and Denise were wonderful and very easygoing hosts who ensured our group had what we needed and gave us a quick tour of the site before giving us free range for the duration of our stay. The shop has an impressive array of trailers onsite to gander at while there, and the shop building bathroom was a nice luxury to have for group camping. Loved our time there, a very unique spot to spend some time.

Weekend Trip to Hicks Haven

The Love Shack was super cozy and the hosts, Marilyn and Jim, were extremely welcoming and friendly. The Love Shack had everything we could possibly need, pretty much all we needed to do was pack our clothes and food. Upon arrival, we met with Marilyn and her fuzzy little friend, Maggie (she’s such a playful cutie). Marilyn shared with us some vegetables from her beautiful garden and also had a fireplace put it in for our stay (which we were extremely grateful for) as the place was getting a bit chillier now. And Jim lit us a lovely fire to enjoy in the night so we can keep warm while enjoying the quiet under the stars. Overall, the entire stay from beginning to end was amazing and we would absolutely be going again!

An exceptional stay with outstanding hosts. The off-leash policy was a highlight, and the resident dogs were friendly and well-behaved. The property is expansive, featuring a fascinating collection of Airstreams and Bolers to explore. Chris and his wife were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. Marilyn’s campsite is a slice of paradise. The land is stunning, peaceful, open, and full of life. But what makes it truly special is the warmth and kindness of Marilyn herself. She is a generous host, and I felt so welcomed from the moment I arrived. The fresh zucchini, jam, tomatoes, and cucumber she shared were absolutely delicious… grown with care and love. 4 nights at Hicks Haven

Hicks Haven was everything we hoped for and more. Jim and Marilyn are the kind of hosts who make you feel instantly welcome — warm, generous, and full of local knowledge. Jim kindly stocked our firepit with wood each evening, and Marilyn even shared fresh produce from her garden, which was such a lovely touch. The trailer itself was impressively well-stocked — cooking utensils, coffee, sugar, and all the essentials were thoughtfully provided, making it easy to settle in and feel at home. We were especially grateful for the air conditioning during a heatwave, and the projector was a total bonus — perfect for cozy movie nights inside when the rain rolled in. One night, with Jim’s help, we even managed to set up the projector by the fire for an unforgettable outdoor movie experience under the stars. They gave us great recommendations for nearby spots to explore, and the location is ideal — just a short 10-minute drive to the Provincial Park beach, with the park pass included! The off-leash dog area at the beach was a highlight for my little guy, who had the time of his life running free. If you're looking for a peaceful, well-cared-for spot with thoughtful hosts and all the comforts of home, Hicks Haven is a fantastic choice. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a great time staying in this little trailer. It’s a cozy setup with just enough space to feel comfortable, and it’s located on a beautiful open property right next to the forest, perfect for a quiet getaway. There’s bathroom access close by and a firepit just a short walk away, which made the evenings extra relaxing. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a peaceful spot with a bit of retro charm.

We had an amazing day here. The trailer was cozy and cool, which is great with the summer heat. It was also very clean and neat when we arrived. The beach is only a few minutes away and we were allowed to borrow a Parks Pass which meant we could visit for which was great! Both of our hosts were very friendly and pleasant to talk to, and when we arrived Marilyn was there to greet us and show us around the property. Overall it was a great experience and somewhere that we would love to visit again.

What a hidden gem spot! Marilyn was such a generous gracious hostess. The property is well-maintained with beautiful gardens and lots of space to wander. The bed is so comfortable. It's brand new! Coffee and games and a cool projector for you to use! There are so many beautiful places to go outside and sit and enjoy the beauty. Delicious fresh veggies from the garden too! Would stay again in a heartbeat.
