We moved here 5 yrs ago and love it! Been working on upgrading and fixing just about everything. We live off-grid, but have solar power and a generator. We have a big garden and orchard. 2 of our tent sites are close to the house and outhouse, 150ft or so. I process firewood and do handyman work, while the mrs. works from home on the computer, so there is always someone here if we're needed. If need be you can charge you cell phones from our house. We will try to accomodate guests needs whatever they may be. Learn more about this land: Welcome to Red Pine Forest, located on Manitoulin Island! We have 4 campsites available for tents or 2 for RVs. We have 100 acres of mixed conifers, including red and white pine. The property boasts a vast variety of flora and fauna, including deer, grouse, porcupine, reptiles like salamanders, hummingbirds and songbirds along with the usual woodland critters, so bring your camera! It is also possible to spot black bears, coyotes, lynx and bobcats. There is a large common fire pit on the property. There is a newer cedar outhouse located near 2 of the tenting sites. You are welcome to walk our trails which can be quite rugged at times, with many alvars and unique flora. There are many beautiful lakes nearby to explore, kayak and fish. You can pitch a hammock under massive pines if you like. Misery Bay Provincial Park is 10 minutes away. There are 2 native reserves nearby that offer the world's largest drum and dream catcher. Locals are friendly and our resident woodworker has some beautiful carvings to see. It is fairly quiet and peaceful, as we are not on the highway. If you time it right you may find mushrooms, or wild strawberries and raspberries. There is a local diner 5 mins away. There is a local market on Saturdays to explore. We are 420 friendly. There is a shared toilet and a wash station. 2. The Firefly Lane is a 30-foot camper in a private site surrounded by trees. Enjoy the great outdoors! It has running water, non-potable, no hot water. Private bathroom, no fridge, no heat. There is a stove to cook inside and a fire pit and BBQ to cook outdoors. Solar powered. Weekend Trip to Sweet Oasis

We took our truck camper to Sweet Oasis and weren’t disappointed at all with the view! Spacious and fairly private. The properties around are long and narrow so the neighbours are quite close but hidden by lots of foliage! It did seem like the neighbours were having a party a couple of the nights we were there so I might be mindful of that if you’re looking for a quiet getaway…The water was lovely (I’d recommend water shoes as it’s quite rocky) we had a nice dip and took out the SUP board. Great way to cool off! Liza was extremely responsive and kind and would highly recommend a stay!!

Lovely, very private, quiet tent-camping spot right on the river. Perfect for launching my kayak for some paddling and swimming. Drinking water and outhouse were a bonus and the sauna before bed with a plunge in the river was an added treat. Easy to find and Beth is a wonderful host! Thanks for an enjoyable and relaxing 3 days.

A nice quiet spot on shore of large lake in southern part of the island so close to ferry crossing. Site is large with many private spots with porch swings or tables and chairs in addition to huge open space. Shoreline is rocky but once past that, water does drop off so nice for swimming at that point. Huge lake would be great for windsurfing once out a little bit.

2 nights at BAM’s Spanish Riviera

We stayed for 2 nights. The cabin was tastefully decorated and comfortable. The mosquitoes were absolutely horrible but both beds came with mosquitoe nets that were 100% needed. We mostly enjoyed relaxing in the cabin due to the intense amount of mosquitoes, but did go out on a canoe one afternoon when we had a nice breeze to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Overall, in spite of the mosquitoes, we had a wonderful stay. Our host Beth, made us coffee and tea and was readily available to answer any questions we had and did her best to make us feel welcome. Overall, the property and host were both excellent.

If you are looking for a perfect spot on Manitoulin Island which offers a place on South Bay right on the water, this is the place for you! Currently, there are no properties on Hip Camp offering privacy on Lake Huron. The owners have laid out the property in a way that you do not notice the neighbors. Rain or shine, the water views are gorgeous and untouched. This is a true Sweet Oasis! For Dark Sky Astronomy events, check out The Manitoulin Eco Park which is right down Rt. 6.
