The property is literally right across the road from the Mono Cliffs Provincial Park which boasts amazing trails, views and features the Niagara Escarpment.
The 4-acre pond/wetland is designated 'Provincially Significant' by the Ministry of Natural Resources and is an important part of the Nottawasaga Watershed.
This area is renowned for its terrain - the fields are rolling and the views are quite special.
You will enjoy a private firepit and private overlook at the pond with hammock. The site isn't visible from the road.
Our house is visible from the site but far enough away as to not disturb one another.

We built a 1 acre campground on our property which also has a few trails for you to wander. The property is great for walking your dog leash free. Close to amenities and town but also feels secluded.

This was our second time at the farm. We had another amazing time. We were greeting by the host immediately and had everything ready for us, including a heap of firewood.
We were happy to see our donkey friends Lily and Oliver, and alpaca friend Bullwinkel. The leaves were beautiful colours and weather was sunny and warm.

We had such a great family weekend staying with Donna near Mono Cliffs! The spot was peaceful, clean, and perfect for our trailer. Donna was so kind and helpful — it was a busy weekend at the park, and she went out of her way to show us where the locals park instead of the main provincial park lot, which made things so much easier. The kids loved exploring and we enjoyed being surrounded by nature but still close to everything. We’d absolutely stay again — thank you, Donna, for making it such a relaxing and welcoming stay!

What a great spot! The sunsets over the pond are incredible. Lots of flat spots for tents. Great hammock spots. The closeness to Mono Cliffs is amazing and Donna is super helpful in providing recommendations for hiking and parking.
While the house is visible form the site. There is still a sense of privacy. Donna was attentive and helpful.

We had a great 2nights camping at Sujo funny farm. Although we think we were mistakenly directed to the wrong campsite from what we booked, the campsite that we had is still good coz it’s kids friendly and quiet, away from the road. The hosts are really nice and very generous. While kids are having fun feeding the donkeys with fresh apples from the tree, the dads enjoyed fishing in the nearby pond. We will definitely recommend Susan’s land to our family and friends for their future camping adventure.

This was a spectacular little gateway in nature. We had a whole big spot surrounded by evergreens and felt a sense of privacy. Donkeys, alpaca, bulldogs, oh my! We also had a great experience birding! John was very kind and helpful and met us upon arrival. I will be returning because this place has a ton of nature to explore. I loved our night there!

Susan and John were BEYOND attentive to my numerous inquiries....Always responded kindly and super quick.
Could not have asked for a better place to stay.
When we initially pulled up I was like "oh this is kind of close to their house"
(You could not see the house, just occasionally my girlfriend hounds me to turn our music up and it gives me terrible anxiety)
You couldn't hear a thing; literally felt like we were in the middle of nowhere
Pre purchased firewood as well as the hydro and water hook up which I highly recommend...
Had a nice chat with John when he delivered our firewood both days.
The donkeys are super friendly, the place is superb, and I would definitely stay there again
Can't begin to express how much this little trip meant to us, and can't thank John and Susan enough for their hospitality

We had a wonderful experience at Donna’s private campsite. Multiple options for where to pitch a tent or place a small camper. Great firepit, clean privy set back just enough to be private but not too far away for nighttime visits. A grill, cute table & chairs, pondside hammock, all of which we used. And delightful grassy paths carved out of the hilly spots, rewarding the explorer with great views of the pond and surrounding terrain.
Best of all, Donna was a great host, greeting us very soon after our arrival, checking in just the right amount, seeing us off at departure. Very personable and full of helpful tips on how to best enjoy the surrounding area (try dinner at Peter Cellars!). We would love to return some day!

I recommend the Glamping bundle- we were later arrivals and earlier departure, so it was nice to not have to set up and dismantle a tent. Perfect site for the kids and dog!! Will definitely be back.

First, let me say I would 100% recommend this beautiful place! Whether you are seeking a place to play and have fun with family, or a quiet space to relax by a fire, sit, reflect, journal, or mindfully walk the well kept and beautiful paths on the property or down the road, on your own, with a another (human or furry!), this place will meet your needs. Situated just a kilometre plus from the entrance to the amazing Mono Cliffs Provincial Park, this space offers many opportunities to hike, picnic, walk part of the Bruce Trail, or enjoy the spacious campsite and nearby pond at your fingertips.
Donna, is a kind and friendly human who went above and beyond as host. This being my first HipCamp trip, I didn’t know what to expect. Donna met us when we arrived, brought a wheelbarrow full of firewood (a small fee) down to our site, and showed us the property explaining what is nearby and offering a map if we wanted one. She then wished us well and left us to enjoy the time we had booked in privacy.(She also greeted Lucy warmly, and, well, that says it all :-)). The RV/tent/Car space is large and level, grassy with lots of large trees and shrubs around. The fire pit, chairs, outhouse and pond are located slightly below the tent area. Lucy was able to be off leash enjoying running and playing around the site, and lounging by the fire with me after a nice hike into the woods. Electricity is available at the site, convenient for keeping electronics charge! Thank you!

Where to go
Close to Town
If staying near Kitchener is your priority, a number of private campgrounds are available just outside of the city. Laurel Creek Conservation Area is the one public campground in Waterloo.
Conservation Areas
A few of the conservation areas managed by the Grand River Conservation Authority have seasonal campgrounds. Elora Gorge is particularly popular with families for the experience of tubing down the gorge, while Guelph Lake, Conestogo, and Pinehurst also offer camping.
Near Stratford
If you’re planning to visit the Stratford Festival, there are a couple of campgrounds between Kitchener and Stratford, some with tent and RV sites as well as cabins. You may be able to find some beachfront campsites.
When to go
Most of the camping options near Kitchener are seasonal, operating between May and October. Campgrounds often have lower rates in May and from after Labour Day until they close for the season. Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest runs for nine days in late September and early October, when there may still be some campgrounds open.
Know before you go
- With St. Jacobs being home to a Mennonite community, you may find yourself sharing the road with horse-drawn buggies in the surrounding areas. Give them plenty of space.
- Kitchener-Waterloo has two universities, so even when it’s not time for Oktoberfest, there can be rowdy students around town.
- GO Transit commuter trains connect Kitchener and Toronto with hourly (and often more frequent) service. Even if you don’t have a vehicle, reaching Kitchener is easy.
- When the large student population leaves for the summer (from May through August) the city becomes much more relaxed and quiet, but popular summer spots like the Elora Gorge get crowded on weekends.

For an enriching nature retreat, camping near Rockwood Conservation Area is ideal. The Rockwood camping experience combines tranquil forest trails, mesmerizing limestone cliffs, and crystal-clear waters, promising a truly invigorating outdoor adventure.
