The tiny stove will keep you warm on the coldest winter days, but you have to keep it going. :) In the winter months, we'll get the stove started to warm everything before you arrive (and provide you with kindling and wood). When cleaning out the ashes in the stove (if necessary,) please use the metal pail outside and place the ash-filled pail back on the concrete blocks. Please note that there is no other heat source. Jacks Cabin was a perfect cozy cottage in the woods. Beautiful property and plenty of classic board games to play by fire light. The wood stove kept up very warm throughout the night. The only con is the outhouse has a window but no curtain. Its a small critique but worth mentioning. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend anyone looking to get away for a quiet weekend check out this property.

Lisa is a wonderful host — calm, friendly, and with great communication throughout our stay. Her hospitality and attention to comfort were amazing. She kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a bit cold during our visit since there’s no electricity in the caravan, but Lisa made sure we had enough warmers to stay cozy. The propane stove worked perfectly, and the kitchen was well-equipped for making coffee and tea. We probably chose the wrong season — early fall or summer would be ideal — but the cold was still manageable for us. Overall, it was a peaceful and memorable experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Monica is fantastic host. The campsite is clean. The yellow chalet is cute. Each cottage houses have there own personalities. They have the stuff you need for cooking and fire pit. Access to the water is good. Good for swimming boating and fishing. The hiking trails are marked. Highlly recommended if you like nature away from city noises.

Warm feels – The host was really friendly and went out of their way to make us feel at home. No surprises – The tent was just as it appeared in the photos (always a plus!). Cozy feels – Extra blankets were produced when the temperature dropped to 0°C. Saviour. Campfire goals – David had kindling ready for the fire each evening. Complete vibe setter. We were also offered a bottle of wine at the fireplace, how kind. Breakfast bonus – Home-cooked breakfasts from scratch? Alone, worth the trip. Garden perks – Had the chance to pick fresh vegetables that they grow in their garden. Yes, please! Glamp life upgrades – Real toilets + a legitimate shower area = a luxury in the woods. They also have a power outlet inside the tent, which is a big plus. Hot water hiccup – The hot water heater malfunctioned one day, but they got us up and running again quickly and even offered us a breakfast discount. Tip: Check if the hot water tank works when booking. Chill zone – Hammock time and well-spaced tent sites = chill time. Booking heads-up – Prices may vary slightly (between $ 65-100 CAD) across booking platforms, so compare them before making a reservation. The host and Hipcamp couldn't help recoup the difference. Final takeaway – Seriously, this house gets glamping right. So comfy, thoughtful little touches all over the place, and just the perfect combination of rough + cozy.

Weekend Trip to Kennebec Nature Escape

Had a wonderful time at this beautiful location. Everything that we needed was taken care of. Rachel was an excellent host and I can't say enough about how helpful Brian was at making sure we were looked after. I will definitely be visiting again. Highly recommend!!!

Weekend Trip to Glamping - Intimate Cabin & Campsites

My husband and I came here for our first wedding anniversary. We had an amazing time! Choleena and Larry were the perfect hosts- super helpful, non-intrusive and even told us we could check out at anytime on our last day. The cabin was also great, very clean and well taken care of. Super close to Perth which is a very charming town. We would certainly love to return!

Weekend Trip to Perth Boho Chic Vintage Caravan

Had a great time at Elizabeth's caravan. Very nice land. The host was very nice and helpful. The caravan was very comfortable. Would recommend it for sure! Beautiful drive to the property. Saw some cool wildlife and Perth is very close by for supplies or for a nice day out in a wonderful small town.

2 nights at Black Maple Farm

We stayed at Lisa and family’s stargazer bunkie for two nights in early September and it was a wonderful experience. We arrived after dark and Lisa was so helpful in making sure we found the bunkie, and always replied to messages promptly. The bunkie was well stocked, cleaned, and decorated, and we had no trouble making all the meals we had planned. It really felt like glamping, and having some time alone with Tango the horse in the night and morning felt super special. All the animals looked happy and well taken care of, were friendly and a pleasure to interact with :) Location is also great if you are planning of taking advantage of the wonderful trails at Frontenac Provincial Park.
