These campsites are also located within the Geocaching Capital of Canada, so a great place to find treasures, nearby. Kingscote Lake is about 7 km up the road and High Falls Hiking trailhead is about 2 km from campsites.

It is located on Centennial Park Road on the southwest side of the Trent Severn Waterway bridge, northeast of Bolsover. The bridge was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1988. FISHING Canal Lake is a medium size lake with a large diversity of fishing spots. Group trip

1 night at Foresthill Retreat

Dale's yurt-style tent was an excellent spot for us to meet up and rest for one night before our canoe trip in the Kawartha Highlands. Dale was quick to respond to my questions and went out of his way to provide wine glasses. The electric fireplace was a welcome feature on a cool night. We made breakfast at the well-supplied outdoor kitchen. The light at the outhouse was a nice touch, though it could have used some cleaning. Thanks a bunch, Dale.

We had a wonderful time here. The place was private, beautiful, clean and cozy. Dale was an amazing host - super responsive, flexible and a pleasure to deal with. If the outdoor shower setup and the outhouse can be fixed up a bit that would make it even more comfortable, but overall it was a great value for the price and I would 100% recommend this.

2 nights at Waterfield Ridge

It was a great spot to pitch a tent and unwind after a few days of fishing some Haliburton lakes. Easy to get to and Jennifer was a great and helpful host. The location is very scenic with the marsh and pond nearby and beautiful tall woods surrounding the site. We didn't get to meet Jennifer (we were too busy fishing all day) but she kept in contact and provided firewood as needed. The only downside I could think of was the barbecue on site didn't seem to have any propane, which was no big deal. We brought our own and actually didn't even know there would be one provided. The outhouse was a bit rustic, but for two guys living off the land it was a luxury to have a toilet at all. Lol. Would definitely go back!

Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat

Dale's site is an ideal getaway for a couple who wants to go camping somewhere secluded but is no longer comfortable in a pop-up tent, on the floor with your own amenities. Dale's site is basic, but in the best way. The tent, the amenities and especially the bed were quite spacious and comfortable. It has very thing you need ( but food. That's all you need to bring). I highly recommend The site if you want to go Glamping on a budget and you're transitioning from regular camping to something more special and accommodating. Very well worth the price and will definitely book again..

Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat

We had a great stay at Forest Hill Retreat! The tent was lovely, well-equipped, and kept us warm and dry all night, even through some rain. It had everything we needed, though we did wish there was a small kettle inside. Since it rained in the morning, we couldn’t make coffee, and the gazebo shelter didn’t have the proper cover, so it didn’t provide much rain protection. The site itself is beautiful and surrounded by lots of trees, but you can still hear a fair bit of car noise from nearby roads. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re looking for total quiet. One of our favorite parts of the stay was watching movies under the stars by the fire—it was such a cozy and unique experience that really made the trip special! Overall, Forest Hill Retreat is a beautiful and relaxing getaway, and with a few small improvements, it would be absolutely perfect.

I had a great stay at Hybla Hideaway! The host was very kind and welcoming to the property. The property itself was clean and had everything I needed to enjoy my weekend stay. Bancroft is a beautiful area to visit, and close to Algonquin which is great. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.

Dale was a great host! The property was well maintained, with conveniences on-site and gas stations, grocery/convenience stores and natural attractions just a short drive away. The lot size was large enough for multiple cars and tents and felt private.

Weekend Trip to Waterfield Ridge

This site is perfect for those passing through Halliburton, or just wanting a getaway from the city and connecting with nature. I only stayed 1 night with my biker friends, so we rode to the site. Site is extremely easy to find, and we are just a short trip to the main town for groceries or restaurants. The night time is where it really brings out the beauty of this site. The trees make a perfect vignette to the night sky, and we spent HOURS stargazing. Our host Jennifer was a saint! She’s super responsive! The only rough part was riding through the gravel/dirt roads, but that is nothing to be worried about. If you’re a good rider, you’ll manage. Highly recommend!

Absolutely Stunning and Peaceful Escape! 🌲💦 We just returned from an incredible stay at this beautiful campsite and couldn’t be happier. The scenery was breathtaking — especially the waterfalls, which were not only gorgeous but so much fun to explore. There were plenty of well-marked trails that made hiking easy and enjoyable for all skill levels. The host was fantastic — welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was just right. It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing nature getaway!

Absolutely amazing. Very peaceful and comfortable, good mixture of shaded areas for the heat but also nice sunny patches for soaking in the sun. Kitchen has everything you’d need, and saves so much packing and hassle when staying here. The projector and dvd laptop player is great, and is an awesome way to enjoy the night beside the fire. Firewoods not available, but there’s very cheap firewood just across the street and the people selling it are very friendly. The tent is very clean and has a lot of extra blankets, pillows, and even a few inflatable mattresses. Super close to some beautiful beaches and very clear water. Seriously awesome space, 10/10. Thank you!! Ps: sorry for breaking your chair 😆

This site is only 1.5hours east from Toronto, so its good for weekenders. Yurt is good size for our family of 4 (2adults, 2kids). In the yurt, there are a mini fridge, dvd discs, players, a projector, books and some boardgames. Sleeping arrangement is...a full size bed, 2 airmattresses and bedding, extra blankets, a sleeping bag and pillows. Outdoor space, it has big green space to play soccer or freesby if you wish. Also there's an outdoor kitchen, shower and a outhouse. Kitchen comes with a propane bbq grill with a side stove. There are several pots and pans but you might wanna bring some cutleries and cups. Kids loved watching movies outdoor by the campfire at night. The site has many small lakes around that you can drive to, the closest one is 4mins away Burleigh falls. Our little ones enjoyed fishing and swimming there. We got to visit a cute little town Buckhorn, 15mins away. On the way back we stopped at lakefield beach, it was perfect for kids to swim. I think it could've been better if we went in the fall. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes even with the multiple layers of repellent. So, be prepared if you go in the middle of summer. You will hear the traffics going by at night, but you will have all the convenience being close to the city.

Lovely spot on Chad’s land. Right across from the river which is an ideal location. 4 minutes to town. Belly’s restaurant is a must visit when staying here! Complete privacy with mix of sun and shade amongst the trees.

We made a last minute stop, and glad we did! We arrived at sunset just in time to take in the gorgeous lake views. Clean, quiet and beautiful spot. Only thing I would change is the amount of time we got to spend here.
