Whether you prefer to be in sun or shade, both are available at this site. As much as we are sheltered from the County road, traffic can be heard at times.

Jump on your favourite floatie and float your troubles away down the lazy river located just a short walk across the road at Kawartha Highlands Signature Park. If kayaking and canoeing are more your thing, you will be in awe of the beautiful scenery as you paddle along. This breathtaking park also offers self-guided tours of its history and landscape.
Three Pines Retreat is surrounded by lakes and trails and is only 3 km from the picturesque town of Buckhorn. Forget something or feel like dining out? Buckhorn hosts an LCBO, grocery stores and restaurants overlooking the locks. Pizza Alloro will lure you in for a delectable slice and Main St. Bar and Grill offers delicious fare and live entertainment. Elana and family were wonderful hosts! I booked a few days just to “get away” and reset, and this was a perfect spot to do so. The animals (mini donkeys, oh my goodness!, the goat who welcomed me alongside Elana, the ducks that swam around the pond…) and the “Enchanted Forest” were highlights. I would have stayed longer (much longer!) if I could, and hope to be back next year… maybe to see baby donkeys or Highland cows? :) Thanks so much for a lovely weekend.

Woody and Elana were the kindest and most welcoming hosts, their camping area was absolutely stunning with the peaceful sounds of nature and animals. Their home and farm was the cutest and they have fresh eggs for sale which were amazing too! If you’re considering where to go camping I would wholeheartedly recommend camping here! We had an amazing time, reflecting and relaxing. We stayed by the water and it was really beautiful listening to the water. The farm tour was awesome, I even got the help feed the pigs 🐷 which was really a highlight for me as they are one of my favourite animals. The donkey is the cute and so good looking and very well mannered. Frenchie and dumpling and the other goats are free range and super friendly! So many animals all well behaved! The cows were beautiful! Everything was beautiful and brings you back to earth! I would recommend this place anyone who loves animals and nature! If you don't like nature this place isn't for you, as you can meditate and reflect on your life to become one with nature.
The family is super knowledgeable and very welcoming. I feel like they welcomed my partner and our dog in as apart of there family for the weekend!
Just remember to bring a camping toilet and a table.
This place deserves a 10 star rating out of 5!!!!

We had a lovely time in the Igloo. The location is beautiful and the water was clean and swimmable. The zip line and the slide were pretty fun too. We oiled have loved if the toilet was not beside the bed, it doesn’t smell lovely while in bed. Nonetheless we had a lovely time. Cleaning guy crept up on us before 11 am check out and scared the bejesus out of us. Maybe coming after 11 am would be a nice touch. The sound of the river while sleeping was a plus ! Bring a fan if you are visiting in the summer it is hot. The sauna is lovely and close to the water so you can plunge when it’s hot;)

This was my first Hipcamping experience and it is going to be hard to beat! Jamie provided very clear directions and helpful tips on how to access the land. As I pulled in the drive and headed toward the lake, I knew this would be a place I would forever carry in my memories. My two sons and I camped RIGHT on the lip of Lake Ontario on a large and quiet site complete with a clean portable potty and a massive pavilion with ample seating if you need to get out of the weather. After a morning swim in the crystal clear lake waters, we packed up with our only regret being just having one night there. I would LOVE to return to this spot. Weekend Trip to Uxbridge Igloo
We had an amazing time at the Uxbridge igloo this summer. Our favourite part was the personal "lake" on the property that was perfect for swimming and cooling off after a hot day. They had a full BBQ and blackstone for cooking. The sauna looked cool but we never used it. Igloo itself is very nice, definition of glamping. Only issues were that the igloo gets really hot in the summer, bring a fan or two cause the A/C doesn't work. There also wasn't any utensils for cooking but they had everything else - working toilet, toiletries, blankets, pillows, towels, etc. We will definitely be back soon!!

It was my husband's special birthday surprise. We loved that it was secluded, peaceful and we'll prepared before our arrival. Host sent a.message with all details mentioned, firepit and sauna were ready to use, beautiful lake and river, we walked on trail, had a very lovely getaway and it's not so far from the city. Nice comfy bed with lots of blankets and pillows.
