There are 27 acres of beautiful Muskoka bush for you to explore and enjoy. If you’re feeling adventurous you can hike around the surrounding forest; stay within the property boundaries and you will discover the hydro cut and its valley view, the ravine, the waterfall, and a footpath that leads to a bridge at the back of the lot. Or simply just relax and enjoy the soundings on the deck area. The public beach for swimming is a quick walk down Beach Road. It has a large dock, picnic table, and grassy area. The sites at Deer Lake Wilderness Retreat are the perfect combination of camping and rustic luxury. There is a Cozy Cabin, a Stargazer Geodome and a Boho Bell Tent. There is communal space in the historic barn that has a kitchenette, farmhouse table and sofas for all of my guests to retreat to when the weather outside is too cold or rainy. The vision going forward is for Deer Lake Wilderness Retreat to become a community where people can come together for workshops and a sense of community. The main floor has a pull-out double bed, and the loft has 2 sets of bunk beds, ideal for kids. The bathroom facility is a newly built very airy eco-outhouse - you will be pleasantly surprised! There is a sink to wash up, and an outdoor shower, but for now, only cold water is available. This an ideal family getaway or a romantic getaway, I look forward to hosting you!

In this cozy glamping setting, you will be serenaded by birds of every kind and will often see deer drinking by the stream close by. This cabin is OFF GRID (limited solar power) but has a wood stove (bundles of firewood available for purchase), propane outdoor portable grill, and enough solar power for very small electronic appliances. Sleeps 3 adults comfortably (or 2 adults & 2 children however msg us if you have any questions). Indoor bathroom with compostable toilet indoors. THE SPACE is an open green field with large mature Pine and Cedar trees through out. Enjoy the Private Friendship Beach with seating already there. Lorimer Lake Resort

Lorimer Lake is primarily a cottage lake. It is known for its clean fresh water and great fishing. It is a long and narrow lake and reaches depths of over 80 feet. There are many shallow and weedy bays that provide good cover for largemouth bass and northern pike. There are a series of islands that dot the lake from one end to the other. Fish holding structures such as narrows, point rock piles, rubble shorelines, shoals and steep drop-offs can also be found throughout the lake.
