RV camping in Nova Scotia

With more than 7,500 kilometers of coastline to explore, you'll never be far from an ocean view in Nova Scotia. The southeast tip of Canada's maritime region is perfect for a coastal road trip, taking you from sweeping cliffs and rocky coves past sandy beaches, picturesque villages, and historic lighthouses. Bringing your RV means you can enjoy camping through all four seasons (although some campgrounds do close over winter), and there are RV parks, provincial campgrounds, and Hipcamps dotted all around the province. A road trip along the Cabot Trail is unmissable (the views are most spectacular in fall), and there are eight campgrounds to choose from at Cape Breton Highlands National Park, some with flush toilets and fire pits. If you want full hookups and extra amenities, opt for an RV park instead. Several sit near Halifax, close enough for exploring Kejimkujik National Park and wine tasting in the Annapolis Valley.

I have a nice grassy and gravel space on the side of my home for an RV or a tent with easy access to a hose and electricity and extra parking. Nova Scotia is experiencing very dry weather with little rain in sight. I'm on well water and the water levels are low. I can offer bottled water for necessities but water usage from my home is limited. My backyard also has an above ground pool (currently being repaired) and firepit (when fires are allowed) for extra convenience. My yard is surrounded by trees and we often have wildlife visit us. It is very quiet and serene. It's a family oriented neighborhood so you will see and hear kids. Everyone helps each other out. We are also located 6km to Rainbow Haven Beach, 3km to the Cow Bay Moose and 3km to the local grocery store. Also 9.7km from the Woodside Ferry Terminal and 800m from the closest city bus stop.

Relax here after a day of paddling on the majestic Musquodoboit River. 🛶

There are paths through the woods for walking the dog. In a pen near the main house is Tess the potbelly pig. She is super friendly and loves people, kids, and other animals. The area is suitable for a self -contained RV or tenting. There is a outdoor toilet and shower. There is 110 power at the spot via 2 extension cords. There is a shed available for storage, Wi-Fi, dishwashing station, BBQ, cooking station.

ABOUT Big Belle Farm is surrounded by large hayfields on the front of our property and at the back behind where the concert will take place. Tenters will be camping in the front fields and RVs will behind the concert field. When you come onsite there will be someone to meet you who will point out the locations were you can setup your tent or RV. There will be event Portable Toilets on site and access to water near the concert grounds.

Oh. My. Gawd. Where to start?! This is one of the original properties for the area. Owned by one lovely family since the 1700's until your current (very lucky) host. The house was the post office from 1861 to 1961. One of the rooms was the hospice for the area... SPOOOOOKY!!! There is a culvert from the 1700's on the property from where the province moved the highway sometime before the 40's. Neat! Reggie took over ownership in 2020 and is keeping things as original as possible, but adding his touch, like his battle axe travel trailer, Franny, which makes her home in the driveway. She's worth a visit! - TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent. Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy! **KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything. For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share! On the property, there is: - A decent-sized lake (I wish I had a canoe... :( ) - 1700's abandoned bridge - Lots of foraging (Won't be held liable if ya eat something silly!) - Rail Trail (runs through the property) So many bloody things to do nearby: - The ocean is right across the street. - Oasis Fish and Chips (Also right across the street!) - Beech Street Kitchen (in Lockeport) - Barrington (Lobster capital of the world, UFO capital of Canada) - Brooklyn (Hank Snow's hometown) - Provincial Parks - Boxing Rock Brewing Co.

We have a half acre lake front lot with privacy. We have access directly to the lake from the lot and a laneway for a small boat as well. There is fishing, paddle boarding, boating, hiking and walking on these quiet roads in the wilderness. The Bay of Fundy is down the road maybe 2-5 min. If you want peace and quiet then here it is, a nice fresh lot on a lake out in the middle of no where. We DO NOT have any any of the equipment (kayaks, paddle boards and fishing equip) there you must bring your own. There is no washroom or electricity yet, so please be aware of this.

"Big Blue" sits atop a lawn covered hill on the shore of the Cobequid Bay. A grove of fir and pine trees offer a sense of woodland solitude and fairies. The energy is magical. You can enjoy a front row seat or amble down over the lawn to sit on the end of the public wharf to watch the tidal bore squeeze into the mouth of the Shubenacadie River. It won't be long and you can marvel at the force of the water as it turns and begins to pour back toward the Bay of Fundy. Walk across the dyke to reach the oldest continually operating general store in North America - Frieze and Roy. Beyond the Wharf, a locally stocked craft shop borders us on the easterly side of the lawn. Next to it you will find Dawson Dowel Picnic Park, a playground and basketball court. On the westerly side of the driveway you there is a marsh area. The remnants of the shipyard where the WD Lawrence was built in the 1800's can be seen poking through the sand on the beach directly in front of the marsh. At low tide you can walk for miles in a westerly direction. Always be Tide Aware! Across the road from the marsh is the residence of WD Lawrence himself. It is a provincial museum. Directly across from Big Blue is a Ducks Unlimited pond. The sound of the geese and ducks can be heard 24 hours a day! There is a path that circumvents most of the pond. Adjacent to the Lawrence House parking lot there is an observatory where you can linger and watch the shenanigans of the occasional muskrat or possibly a beaver. The washrooms are accessed through a side door on the verandah of the main house. There are three showers and three toilets. If happen to be missing your "workout" there is a treadmill and exercise bike available to use. Outdoor fire regulations are strictly adhered to. There is a BBQ available for a small fee. She's worth a visit! - TENT ADVANCED LEVEL LAKESIDE is by far the most beautiful; however, it is a small area, located on the edge of the property, and I can't be responsible for the neighbours to a certain extent. Fort Nova is your home for as long as you choose. Let's get campy! **KEEP IN MIND THAT THERE MAY BE OTHERS STAYING THERE** But there are multiple areas to choose from, including: the lawn, living amongst the pines, a forest clearing, or even lakeside (it's rough back there). You can have complete privacy and feel free to reach out to me at the house if you need anything. For those with RV's, there is an exterior outlet and a water spigot, but please remember, others might be staying there so we need to play nice and share! "Big Blue" sits atop a lawn covered hill on the shore of the Cobequid Bay. A grove of fir and pine trees offer a sense of woodland solitude and fairies. The energy is magical. You can enjoy a front row seat or amble down over the lawn to sit on the end of the public wharf to watch the tidal bore squeeze into the mouth of the Shubenacadie River. It won't be long and you can marvel at the force of the water as it turns and begins to pour back toward the Bay of Fundy. Walk across the dyke to reach the oldest continually operating general store in North America - Frieze and Roy. Beyond the Wharf, a locally stocked craft shop borders us on the easterly side of the lawn. Next to it you will find Dawson Dowel Picnic Park, a playground and basketball court. On the westerly side of the driveway you there is a marsh area. The remnants of the shipyard where the WD Lawrence was built in the 1800's can be seen poking through the sand on the beach directly in front of the marsh. At low tide you can walk for miles in a westerly direction. Always be Tide Aware! Across the road from the marsh is the residence of WD Lawrence himself. It is a provincial museum. Directly across from Big Blue is a Ducks Unlimited pond. The sound of the geese and ducks can be heard 24 hours a day! There is a path that circumvents most of the pond. Adjacent to the Lawrence House parking lot there is an observatory where you can linger and watch the shenanigans of the occasional muskrat or possibly a beaver. The washrooms are accessed through a side door on the verandah of the main house. There are three showers and three toilets. If happen to be missing your "workout" there is a treadmill and exercise bike available to use. Outdoor fire regulations are strictly adhered to. There is a BBQ available for a small fee. Gloria was a friendly host and the big grassy yard that she offered was a good place to camp near the Bay of Fundy where you could watch the tides come and go.. There’s a nice walking trail from her place to the village of Maitland where we got a very decent dinner at a good price. The bathroom facilities were substandard, not clean, but made available whenever we needed it. Overall, it was a decent experience, although perhaps a bit overpriced.

Absolutely beautiful! What view! It's an off grid camping spot in the most beautiful area. There is an outhouse that was clean. Dan was quick to respond to any questions I had and check in to make sure I was okay or needed anything. That view though is everything. I would wake up looking out at that view everyday if I could. Also had 5g out there which was nice to still be connected. I will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful waterfront views from almost every site. We visited in early October so the campground wasn’t very crowded. Electric, water, fire ring and nice picnic table at our site. Older bathhouse with shower that was well maintained and clean. Would recommend staying here.

We called ahead and Quinton met us as we drove in and showed us to the site. We had our choice of spots because we were the only ones there. We watched the tidal bore come up the river and a mild sunset in the orchard. Early in the morning, we heard some ruffled grouse calling. A very peaceful stay.

Great Bras D'Or Waterside Camp

Nicely treed with grassy clearings, this waterfront property has a pebble beach, with stunning views down the Great Bras D'Or Channel. At the beach, there’s swimming and fishing, shell searching, rock-skipping. Walk 100m down the beach to the Ross Ferry Marine Park where you’ll find shaded walking-trails, an outdoor fitness gym, and a jungle-gym with a slide for kids. Anyone who feels bold enough can jump off the wharf! There is also a boat launch that can be used (for a small donation to the Ross Ferry Marine Park. Guests of all campsites will have communal access to a small cabin close to the road in SUMMER TIMES ONLY. The interior of the cabin and the water are shut down in September. The cabin has power and water (AC cord can be run from the exterior outlet, and a hose can be attached to the exterior tap). Guests are free to use the small basic kitchen, bathroom, large deck and small living room, but the cabin is not for sleeping. There is no regular cleaning service, so guests are responsible for keeping the communal spaces clean.

It was sold to a man who started renovations for a summer house but ended up listing it for sale. I purchased it and completely renovated the 100-year-old house. Shortly after, my brother and I started an outfitting company with no plan of building a campground, but in 2017 we saw a great opportunity for building something unique. We wanted to keep a backwoods camping feel, but yet create it around a hostel-inspired environment. We launched June 1, 2018 and are in full swing now. Adventure awaits at this eco-camping hostel offering a natural setting, overlooking a picturesque valley. My backyard also has an above ground pool (currently being repaired) and firepit (when fires are allowed) for extra convenience. My yard is surrounded by trees and we often have wildlife visit us. It is very quiet and serene. It's a family oriented neighborhood so you will see and hear kids. Everyone helps each other out. We are also located 6km to Rainbow Haven Beach, 3km to the Cow Bay Moose and 3km to the local grocery store. Also 9.7km from the Woodside Ferry Terminal and 800m from the closest city bus stop.
