Camping near Saint John with wildlife watching

Our host Paul not only greeted us and gave us a tour of the property, but texted us ahead of time with directions and details of points of interest to visit on the way to his property, of which we made full use. His property has wonderful views of the water, and was very tranquil at night. We saw many species of birds, including osprey, bald eagles, kingfishers, woodpeckers, etc. Several deer wandered into the salt flats at low tide in the morning. The use of the washroom and shower facilities was a bonus. Paul is an exceptional host, providing so much historical knowledge of the area, and always having time for his guests. His little dog Milo was always excited to see us arrive back at the end of the day. We look forward to returning to this wonderful spot to camp while enjoying the many interesting places to explore within a short drive.

Amazing sites with a great host. Paul sent us all the information we needed to fully enjoy the area and also to learn about local history. The sites are private and well spread out and the views everywhere are spectacular! We are kayakers and this property was a perfect launch spot for the river and the bay. We saw bald eagles, deer, loons and we were lulled to sleep by gentle sound of the distant foghorns.

I haven't been camping in many years and decided to stay here at the last minute for two nights on a long trip back to Vermont from Newfoundland. I'm so glad I threw my tent and some gear in the car. Paul was a great host, giving me a tour of all the sites for me to pick one. I chose the amazing tip of the point behind the house with incredible views in all directions. So quiet and peaceful watching the tides rise and fall. Great local recommendations for food and sites to see, plus Milo, the camp dog. I'll be back the next time I'm up that way.

We spent three nights in our pop-up truck camper at Cranberry point looking up the river, and loved every minute. It was such a peaceful place to disconnect, read, take a relaxing walk and a refreshing cold dip. We didn’t end up getting out on the water, but one of our camp neighbors did so several times and came back raving each time. We are so grateful to Paul for sharing both his stunning and lovingly cared for property AND his true wealth of local tips and history. We will absolutely be back!!!

The views are stunningly beautiful and peacefully quiet. The host helpful and friendly and the camp dog was the best.

This campsite is amazing! Kayaking with my dog was awesome, and Paul was a great host. Milo, the campground mascot, was great too. It was so quiet and peaceful, and the fireflies at night were incredible. I'll definitely be back!

What a beautiful location! It was like no other campsite I’ve been to- Paul was an extremely helpful host and had many good recommendations of local places to visit. The views from his campground are next to none. We watched a pair of bald eagles while drinking our morning coffee, loved seeing the fireflies at night and just had such a nice stay. 10/10 would recommend.

This has been the site with the nicest view, absolutely fabulous view on the water, with rocks and trees around it. Beautiful. We were well received by Paul. The facilities are a bit outdated but functional.

Welcoming host, perfect landscape, peaceful and mostly private campsites, right on a river and a lake with access to kayaks and canoes. I had nothing but good things to say about my stay here.

Beautiful property. We had an area all to ourselves right at the edge of the water, and we got to watch the tides come in and out. Paul will give you great info about the area. We would stay here again.

Wow! Beautiful 100 acres! Many spacious options for view & waterfront spots for your tent to big rig. Paul is an outstanding host, friendly and willing to share his extensive knowledge of the area and all of NB. Also, he went over the top helping me through a bit of a crisis. Thank you.

Absolutely stunning spot with incredible sunsets and views on the river. Paul is a great host. He welcomed us when we arrived and showed us around the property. He also gave us great tips . His dog, Milo is super friendly and our kids loved playing with him!
