Welcome to our secluded little farm paradise. We are located on the west side of the W̱SÁNEĆ Peninsula on the main drive, West Saanich Road. Close to the beaches Coles Bay and Patricia Bay and a 12-minute drive to Sidney and the village of Brentwood Bay.
We have 3 accommodations offerings here on HipCamp:
(1) Tent camping in the fenced forest meadow
(2) Car camping at selected sites around the farm
(3) The Barn Loft private guest suite
{1. The Camping Meadow}
The meadow is a 1/2 acre fully-fenced, flat forest dell. There is a water spigot and an electrical outlet. It can host up to 3 tents. It is tent camping only - no vehicles allowed in the meadow.
West Saanich Road can be a bit loud at night in the summer. If you have sensitive hearing, we encourage earplugs and/or camping at the farthest west end of the meadow.
{2. Car Camping}
The Cedar Grove is a private camp site with room for a regular vehicle (not an RV) and a tent. It is our only spot where you may camp next to your vehicle.
{3. The Barn Loft Guest Suite}
The Barn Loft Guest Suite is a beautiful restored hay loft with a double bed, a pull-out sofa, a kitchenette, and a living room and dining area. It is equipped with a composting toilet. Those staying at the Loft can also use the shared farm washroom.
{Shared Washroom}
The washroom is the shared washroom inside the farmhouse on the ground/basement floor, with a flush toilet and luxury shower. It is a short walk from the camping meadow, inside the heritage farmhouse. Please note that while inside the farmhouse basement, only the washroom is available for public use. Entering other areas of the basement is prohibited, as these are private living spaces.
{Farm Fun}
We have five horses, a tiny pony, chickens, a few goats and a flock of sheep. You are welcome to respectfully meet the animals with us - it is not permitted to meet the animals without a guide. DM us if you want to say hi to the animals and we will arrange a time. Please understand, there are safety protocols that need to be followed around horses.
Eggs and lamb meat are also available for sale. DM us to order.

Located just a 3 minute walk from Butchart Gardens and a short hike to Tod Inlet, we have 1.5 acres that is about half forested with fir and cedar trees. The rest of the property has many vegetable gardens, orchards, and our ducks. In the past we have hosted many bikepackers on their journeys and now welcome those hiking, bicycle touring, motorcycle touring, or car camping.
Our tenting-only sites are all located in the forest and each site has room for up to four people. Water is near the sites and we provide good quality drinking water in jugs at your site. Plugs are also available for charging phones and ebikes. A short walk away from the campsites there is a dishwashing/meal prep bench and sink. There is a day hammock to enjoy the forest near the tenting sites. We also have a flush toilet on site and now have a hot rainwater shower available for campers.
Nearby attractions include Butchart Gardens (3 min walk), Butterfly Gardens (4 min drive), and greater Victoria (about 20-25 minutes away). Swartz Bay ferry terminal is about 20 minutes away (Vancouver, Gulf Islands), the Mill Bay ferry terminal is about 5 minutes away (connects to Mill bay and destinations north of Victoria), the Coho to Port Angeles is about 20-25 minutes away.
The nearby village of Brentwood Bay is about a 5 minute drive away and offers a grocery store, pharmacies, various restaurants and cafes, a pub, and other conveniences for your stay.

Weekend Trip to Jordan River's Little Airstream
I enjoyed my little escape to the JR airstream. Robyn was very sweet and replied to all my inquries super promptly. The airstream is cute, well stocked, and the perfect size for one. I loved the gas stove & the little deck.
I would caution against staying here in winter if you are cold sensitive. I found it to be chilly inside the airstream even with the tiny heater running. I brought layers & an extra blanket, and drank hot drinks, but overall I was cold whenever I wasn't tucked into bed. People who run warm would probably be fine in winter, and I'm sure it's a lovely place to stay in the warmer seasons.

Weekend Trip to Raylia Cottage Farm Stay
What a perfect stay! Michele was a lovely host and the cabin was in such a beautiful, peaceful spot. I loved the vibe of the cabin, cosy with the option to make a fire (loved chopping wood), and lots of cosy dvds' and vhs's to watch on the couch. The cabin also had its own privacy (its far enough from the main house & has its own driveway) which was perfect for us. It's located in a super convenient spot too, probably the best part of the island to stay - right next to a few cute shops, coffee carts and a restaurant while still being tucked away in the woods. Also next to a lovely hike. Would highly recommend!!!

We had a lovely time at the sleep cabin. We definitely recommend bringing your own foldable cooking table if you plan on cooking your own meals outside as there isn’t much flat ground around the cabin to cook on. We had the most wonderful time at the Rad Shack. Such a cute place which has clearly been made with a lot of love. Madeline was a very responsive host and we enjoyed the guide book inside of the nearby area. It is very remote and private, with its own trail down to a completely quiet beach which is fantastic for a sunset. Outdoor shower is very fun!

Very cute meadow on a farm for safe camping. It is outside of the busy city. There is the main road and golf course on the corner of the meadow but the noise is not overwhelming. The clean bathroom/shower and shared fridge were a big bonus for the fair cost. Hosts were respectful and friendly.

I’m 2-0 with my first 2 HipCamp experiences on this trip. This spot and the adorable Airstream were exactly as advertised and so great. Robyn was super responsive. The location is private but still a short drive away from many great spots. Everything was super clean and comfortable, don’t let the size fool you, everything you need is there. A hammock or somewhere to lounge on the patio with a book would make it perfection.

Steve is a wonderful host and was extremely accommodating and gracious. For a couple of us it was the first time in Canada and he helped make that experience much easier. The site was large enough for a 3 person tent and two smaller backpacking tents. There was a hammock that for most of the day was in the shade. Steve was more than willing to help us find local places and where to go swimming, hiking, shopping, etc. Walking distance to the butchart gardens as it is on the same street. Overall a fantastic experience that make my first time in Canada very memorable. Will absolutely be booking this spot again in the future!

Just a perfect stay in a beautiful location. Exactly as was described. Super clean and great care was taken in making it really comfortable.
Our little dog loved it and kept a close eye on the horses and goats from her perch in the loft:) Highly recommend as it was also an easy drive to Sidney and about 30 minutes to downtown Victoria.

On sunny/ rainy days, there is no shaded area so make sure to bring a cover of sorts. We were also close to the road so we could hear cars and construction, but it wasn’t too bad! It was such a fun experience :) Would definitely go again!

This was a beautiful little spot, very private my boyfriend and my self basically had the whole place to ourselves. It was close to everything and the owners were very kind! There is a lovely little washroom and shower, a little place to do your dishes. Their chickens were very friendly as long as you leave them be and very cute watch. All and all it was a 10/10 stay! Just make sure to bring lots of lights!

2 nights at Raylia Cottage Farm Stay
Amazing little getaway in a cozy cabin in the middle of the forest. I appreciated that the cabin was walking distance to the store, the local restaurant, the Mt Park trails and a coffee shop. If I plan on going back to Mayne, that’s the place I want to book!
