Come camp on a 40-acre parcel backing onto crown land mountains and wake up in front of 10 acres of vineyard and a view of Okanagan Lake! There is a small cabin and two camp sites to choose from. Site 1 is best suited for tents and small campervans, less than 18' or so (though people with small trailers like tear drop campers have been fine). Site 2 has a much larger flat area that can hold RVs up to 30'. Cabin available for those that want to sleep in a cozy bed and have a warm fire :) Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Welcome to a natural, convenient location with basic amenities on the West Kettle River! We have 300 acres including 1500 meters of river frontage with access to the surrounding crown land and KVR trail which runs through the property. We recommend arriving before dark so that you aren't complaining in a review how hard sites are to find at night, in the dark. Some sites may be overgrown generally a lawn mower is provided for your use. If you are looking for fully serviced campsites where the outhouse is closer than 250m, then you should just carry on! The KVR trail is the access to the property. From HWY 33 South, take the turn (West) onto Tuzo Main Road (about 7km's south of Beaverdell), then cross the wooden bridge over the Kettle River and take the first left onto the KVR trail (a long, straight flat gravel road) and follow for 1900meters. Mostly wide enough for one way traffic only, so please be patient and mindful of trail users on bikes, quads and vehicles. After driving down the KVR right of way about 1.2km, you will arrive at the farmhouse gates - there you will see a little sign for the campground on the tree, so keep going down the right away. Once you go another 600m or so, you will come to a homemade sign with an arrow pointing you left. Turn there and then make a quick right turn then follow the road. You will come to the large tree with a picnic table and two blue barrels marking site #10. Sites 1, 2, 3 ,4 are over at the river, the other RV sites 5, 6, 7, 8, can be any where around site 10 or in the loop. I can always bring the lawner mower over to cut the grass and weeds down just get a hold of me. We currently have 5 tent only sites on the river and 25 RV/Tent sites currently about 100m from the river. There are currently picnic tables with blue umbrellas for sites 1, 3, 4, 10. There is a small white table and chairs for site 2. RV's sites include sites #4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - I can add many more RV sites. Just need to cut the grass/weeds. Fishing, hiking, exploring, bring your quads, dirt bikes. There's plenty of roads and trails ... Even a secret honey hole fishing spot not far away but that's hush hush only locals know about this gem. A camper told me recently he saw a massive fish (16+ inches), likely a rainbow in the Kettle.

Conkle Lake is approximately 50 min drive for some excellent lake fishing. The Kettle River Recreation Area is where locals go to cool down while floating the river. Mt Baldy ski area is 40 minute drive with summer activities like scenic hiking, disc golf, horseshoes, volleyball and scenic chairlift rides. There are plenty of wildlife that come through, whitetail deer, coyotes, black bear, elk and the odd mule deer. Our local snowshoe hair and ground squirrels may give guests a surprise while having coffee in the morning. Across the road is a local park containing a small lake and marsh land, frequently the Red-winged Black birds can be heard singing. With only 2 pads occupied at a time, guests can expect to have the property mostly to them selves. We do have a tiny home near by that our family uses recreationally. There is a communal fire pit where guests can gather and share their adventure stories from the day. Bring your camp chair, we have the firewood provided! If there is a fire ban, guests are welcome to use their own CSA approved propane fire pits. Some local summer events include, Rock Creek Farmers Market May-October every Tuesday and Friday at Gyro Park and Rock Creek Fall Fair is the second weekend in September. The property is a quick 20 minute drive from South Okanagan wine country! We recommend arriving before dark so that you aren't complaining in a review how hard sites are to find at night, in the dark. Some sites may be overgrown generally a lawn mower is provided for your use. If you are looking for fully serviced campsites where the outhouse is closer than 250m, then you should just carry on! The KVR trail is the access to the property. From HWY 33 South, take the turn (West) onto Tuzo Main Road (about 7km's south of Beaverdell), then cross the wooden bridge over the Kettle River and take the first left onto the KVR trail (a long, straight flat gravel road) and follow for 1900meters. Mostly wide enough for one way traffic only, so please be patient and mindful of trail users on bikes, quads and vehicles. After driving down the KVR right of way about 1.2km, you will arrive at the farmhouse gates - there you will see a little sign for the campground on the tree, so keep going down the right away. Once you go another 600m or so, you will come to a homemade sign with an arrow pointing you left. Turn there and then make a quick right turn then follow the road. You will come to the large tree with a picnic table and two blue barrels marking site #10. Sites 1, 2, 3 ,4 are over at the river, the other RV sites 5, 6, 7, 8, can be any where around site 10 or in the loop. I can always bring the lawner mower over to cut the grass and weeds down just get a hold of me. We currently have 5 tent only sites on the river and 25 RV/Tent sites currently about 100m from the river. There are currently picnic tables with blue umbrellas for sites 1, 3, 4, 10. There is a small white table and chairs for site 2. RV's sites include sites #4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - I can add many more RV sites. Just need to cut the grass/weeds. Fishing, hiking, exploring, bring your quads, dirt bikes. There's plenty of roads and trails ... Even a secret honey hole fishing spot not far away but that's hush hush only locals know about this gem. A camper told me recently he saw a massive fish (16+ inches), likely a rainbow in the Kettle.

Conkle Lake is approximately 50 min drive for some excellent lake fishing. The Kettle River Recreation Area is where locals go to cool down while floating the river. Mt Baldy ski area is 40 minute drive with summer activities like scenic hiking, disc golf, horseshoes, volleyball and scenic chairlift rides. There are plenty of wildlife that come through, whitetail deer, coyotes, black bear, elk and the odd mule deer. Our local snowshoe hair and ground squirrels may give guests a surprise while having coffee in the morning. With only 2 pads occupied at a time, guests can expect to have the property mostly to them selves. We do have a tiny home near by that our family uses recreationally. If there is a fire ban, guests are welcome to use their own CSA approved propane fire pits. Camp 1 handled our Class B. I rented both sites and our friends were introduced into Hipcamping using site 2. Their trailer a small to medium size fit easily there with a drive through setup. The two camps are closer together for RVs but further apart of tents campers. The camp property is a very short drive on a large dirt road. It is located at a 600 foot elevation above town, we decided not to ride the bikes to town due one rider uses a three wheel bike which needs more space. The condition was OK but could be checked for trash we try to pickup what was there. It was great having access to water being that this was our fourth stop on this trip. Great to be in the country with a sea of grapes and lake in you front view. We did see and hear turkeys and other wild life. The gate needed to be opened and closed it could use a tune-up.

Down a quiet dirt road in the hills above Princeton, Lakeview Ranch offers a little slice of paradise. The site is peaceful, private, and well maintained, offering just what you need, and nothing you don't. The outhouse is clean and closeby, there's a small cooking stand, and a table with four chairs. The property offers endless exploration activities from hiking into the hills, or walking around the beaver pond. Or, wander a bit farther and look for fossils or go for a swim in the Similkameen River just a quick walk or drive away. Or, just relax on the dock and look for the beavers. Beyond the beavers, numerous other wildlife viewing opportunities exist from squirrels running about, to hearing the coyotes howl in the distance at night. Angelique is an amazing host offering great directions to the property and to nearby attractions, as well as thoughtfully including some extras knowing I was visiting on a motorcycle. I highly recommend staying at Hammock Ranch, and would happily do so again.

A very peaceful spot at the top of the hill behind their horse (and goat) farm. In fact, two horses seemed to spend most of their time peacefully eating hay in their pasture beside us. As others mentioned, there were a number of species of birds flitting around in the trees. The sunsets behind Black Mountain were lovely. Note: it was very dry and dusty when we were there. I am not sure what the laneway up to the site and the camping site itself would be like in rainy weather.

2 nights at Back Forty Vineyards

We loved tenting at Back Forty Vineyards. The view waking up to rows of grapevines each morning was beautiful, and the amount of stars at night around the fire was incredible. We stayed in Site 2 which is down in a small hollow, which was nice for privacy. Site 1 is not too far away but its up on a bit of a hill so it does still feel private. There's an outhouse not far from the site, and a water tap between the 2 campsites which is convenient. There's nowhere to shower so prepare accordingly. Daryn offers firewood for sale by the full or half wheelbarrow, which are decently priced. Daryn was a great host. He sent a welcome message before our arrival with all the necessary instructions, and any questions I had he was very responsive to. And I can't forget to mention Bernie, the farm dog who watches over the vineyard. He's a friendly boy and likes to check in on his campers. All in all I would definitely recommend camping here to anyone looking for an alternative experience to the typical cramped campground style. It's not every day you get to wake up, drink a coffee and eat breakfast in a vineyard. I'm sure we'll be back again soon!

We arrived late, and his dad kindly assisted us with lighting for our tent setup. The site features ample parking, a powered electrical pole with multiple outlets, and a strong sense of security. It's an ideal, family-friendly spot in Osoyoos that I highly recommend and would gladly visit again.
