Nile Point - Oceanfront Camping

Hi, my name is Dave. My family and I would like to welcome you to Nile Point, a secluded campsite located on 20 acres of privately owned, oceanfront property on Nelson Island, BC. I consider it the closest thing to paradise. The first you'll need to know about this property is that it's only accessible by boat. This is what makes the campsite so secluded and peaceful. Transportation to and from the island is included with your stay. The stunning 15 minute boat ride to and from Nile Point is one of the many things that makes this a truly unique experience. The second thing you'll need to know is that we offer TWO SITES on the property, a 10x16 TENT PLATFORM and a OCEANFRONT CANVAS TENT WITH ENSUITE (NEW!) with king size bed, in-tent ensuite bathroom and fully stocked outdoor kitchen with potable water, bar fridge and BBQ We have one canoe, one one-person kayak, and a paddleboard. Bring your own water exploring devices if you wish. Our beach is rocky (it ain't a sandy beach!), so bring your good water/rock shoes! This is a great place to stay and explore if you love the wild. It's off the grid, so if you want to unplug from devices and do nothing but relax or play in the ocean and explore the forest, it's perfect. That said, there is cell reception should you need it and a solar charger if you need to charge your devices. There's free parking at the pickup/drop off location in Egmont. Egmont offers a pub, a fancy restaurant, and a charming convenience store with wi-fi. We can take you in to town during your stay for an additional charge. Nestled against the Provincial Park in a family-friendly RV park you will find relaxation and fun. The beautiful Shuswap Lake and beach is less than a block away, with a Provincial boat launch near by. Entrance to the Provincial Park is also less than a block away, where you will find many trails for biking or walking, as well as playgrounds and a bike park. Amenities such as grocery store, pharmacy, medical clinic and eating establishments close by. just a bit to know about the rental We are excited you are coming to enjoy the Shuswap and all it has to offer. We want to make sure you have an enjoyable time at our place and want to make sure you are prepared for your stay. Just a couple of important things to note. 1. Renters will need to bring all of your bedding including pillows. (There are coin operated laundry facilities on site) 2. You will also need to bring your own towels, there are some dish clothes and tea towels available in the park model for your use. 3. A propane tank will be available for use and there is a gas station where you can get it filled up for use of the BBQ and firepit should it run out. 4. The kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes and such you should need including some basic spices for cooking. There is a grocery store just a couple minutes away that can cover all of your needs including a liquor store, and a deli. 5. If you have any questions about the park or concerns with your rental please contact us directly as this is a private rental the park office will not be able to help you. 6. Learn more about this land: Fluffy Bunny Farms is a private 6-acre property located only 15 minutes from downtown Kelowna! It’s the perfect place to camp near Bear Creek Provincial Park and Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park. We have 3 private campsites with stunning mountain views perfect for a small trailer, or self-contained camper van/tent. Guests can enjoy biking, fishing, hiking and wildlife watching all nearby. We also have a white sand volleyball court to relax and enjoy some friendly competition with your camping partner at the end of your day. Please note that there are no amenities available at the campsite. Campers will need to have a self-contained vehicle and leave no trace. We are dog friendly and request that dogs remain under their owner's control at all times and on leash. We do not allow campfires as our home burned down last year in the McDougal Creek fire as well as a lot of the neighbourhood so we don’t allow any fires or smoking cigarettes on the property. We will be building our new home during the summer but the build is a bit away from where the sites are so it shouldn’t be an issue. But this is forwarded as we know that this is a priority for us as so we won’t stop building even if we have campers, so we just want everyone to know this in advance! We can’t wait to host you and if you have any questions before booking, just ask!

Learn more about this land:Enjoy the outdoors at our campsite at Shuswap Lake, where you can bring your own tent or RV. Our property sits just off the main road with a view of the lake and access to the beach and forest. We have two sites that can hold up to four guests each. Pets are welcome. Nearby lakeside attractions include Shuswap Lake Marine Provincial Park and Cinnemousun Narrows Provincial ParkThe property has a firepit with provided firewood, and a pit toilet is a 2-minute walk from the campsite. Flat parking is available. For those bringing an RV, the pull-in site can accommodate up to 40 feet in length. There are no hookups, and generators are not allowed. To the west along the lake, the communities of Scotch Creek and Ross Creek have a few shops and food options. The greater Shuswap Lake area offers a wealth of activities, from kayaking, hiking, snowshoeing, and fishing to visiting wineries and dining at local restaurants.

West Kootenay Adventure

The property sits at an elevation of 900m. Located in the southern tip of the West Kootenay region just 2km from the American border. The site is a quiet mountainous setting surrounded by babbling creeks and fresh mountain springs. There are numerous hiking trails with views down 2 valleys. Rosebud Lake and nature reserve is a short 3km bike ride. Thete is a secluded and scenic camping area set up for guests and can accommodate vehicle combinations up to 50ft in length. There are no hookups or cell service. However there is mountain spring water, Wifi and an outhouse at the site. Pets welcome, campfires permitted when no fire ban. Located a short 20-minute drive from the historic village of Salmo, BC. Walk or bike to Rosebud lake and wildlife sanctuary, go boating in the Ponderille. Or explore one of many private swimming holes on the Salmo River. A 2WD vehicle takes you to the top of Kootenay Pass (Stagleap Provincial park) at 1750m where world class hiking and ski touring exist. Fishing, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, horseback riding, canyoning, golfing, disc golf ect. There are endless opportunities to explore the rich history in the area. There are bicycles, a mobile woodfired sauna and luxury canvas Belle tent on site which can all be added to your rental for a small cost.

Overview

It’s hard to describe British Columbia as anything other than wildly breathtaking—quite literally when you swim in one of the province’s many turquoise glacier lakes, ride a wave, or catch a glimpse of a bear in the forest. For camping experiences and road trips, BC offers privately operated campgrounds and RV parks; a major network of parks with reservable and first-come, first-served tent camping sites; yurts and cabins; and thousands of recreation sites and trails on beaches, lakes, mountains, and meadows. Thanks to the mild climate and some winter huts, camping is possible year-round.

West Coast

The Pacific Ocean runs along the length of BC, offering plenty of oceanside spots to explore. On Vancouver Island, Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park are famous for cold-water surfing, whale watching, and hot springs, while nearby Ucluelet is a fisher’s paradise. Further inland, campers can find riverside camping in Squamish; backcountry huts around the resort town of Whistler; and reservable tent pads overlooking the jewel-toned Joffre Lake. For a true off-the-grid experience, head to Haida Gwaii's Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve—set about 100 kilometres off the northern British Columbia coast, this area is only reachable by sea or air.

Northern British Columbia

The northern part of the province is all raw, rugged beauty, with unique culture and untouched natural beauty. Soak in Canada’s second-largest hot spring in Fort Nelson, watch salmon spawning in the many rivers, and peek at bears catching some themselves at Kleanza Creek Provincial Park in Terrace. Options for outdoor stays include vast wilderness resorts, remote cabins, and private beach, lakefront, or rainforest campsites—but note that cell service and WiFi are rare in these parts. Bonus: Given its far north location, it’s relatively easy to snag last-minute campsites that still offer peace and quiet.

Cariboo Chilcotin Coast

With a blend of history, wildlife, adventure, and expansive grasslands, the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast is true Canadian countryside. Campers come to this wild western spot to spend time in the Great Bear Rainforest and at alpine rivers (whitewater rafting is big here), but travelers usually also visit lakeside fishing lodges and historic Gold Rush towns such as Barkerville. Tweedsmuir Provincial Park is a prime spot for the chance to spot a grizzly bear.

Kootenay Rockies

Set in the province’s southeastern corner and part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site, the Kootenays are home to four national parks: Glacier, Kootenay, Mount Revelstoke, and Yoho. Here you’ll find unrivaled wildlife—think black bears, mountain goats, and elk—much of which can be spotted even from the highway. Throughout the region are glaciers, peaks, waterfalls, and quirky little towns such as Golden, Cranbrook, and Kimberley, the highest in Canada at 1,113 meters up. Camping and tenting is typically open between May and September, with limited winter options.
