Quiet, majestic back to nature spot! This is a place to get away from a busy life. With close proximity to Winchell Lake, this land is ideal for fishing, hiking or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery. We have 4 campsites available for tent or RV/trailer campers. If you're bringing an RV, we have two power outlets and water available. You will be parking on a field and the site requires levelling. Electricity and firewood are both available for purchase (see extras below). Please add this to your reservation at the time of booking. Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome. Potable water, picnic table, and outhouse are all available. We have cows, goats, chickens, horses and dogs on the property that generally love people. :) I have only one dog and typically allow dogs to run off leash. We do have to be careful that it doesn't turn to a dog gang as this happened once and they took down one of my goats. The goats Hon and Chewy are okay but it took months for poor Hon to heal. I also worry about the chickens so please keep and eye on your dogs! Lots of treed areas for private camping, horseback riding hiking and walking! Bird watching is big around here as we are on a bird migratory path. We are just above Winchell Lake and less than 10 km from Water Valley Golf Course and Saloon. Please recognize that you are visiting a Ranch not a campsite. We are sharing our piece of heaven with you and you are helping to support our animals and their heaven. Chickens are "True" Free Range and hand fed every morning. Eggs are $10 a dozen to pay for their feed. :) Every spring the rain tends to cause ruts and washes out some of the road on the way to the back forty where the meadow is. We gather rocks on the property to fill the ditches but the early part of the year the roads can be bumpy. Please ask the conditions of the road when you book if you have concerns. Thanks!

Accommodations • 20’ Yurt: Fully equipped with 2 king-size mattresses, chairs, nightstands, water, and snacks. • 420 Trailer: A fully powered 44’ 5th wheel trailer, fully stocked and converted into a 420 trailer with a blackout living room with tapestries, curtains, black light, and a stereo. The trailer has 1 bedroom, a couch, a day bed, a big full kitchen, and a bathroom with electricity and warm water. Note that there is no indoor toilet; the outdoor kitchen has hot water, and there is an outhouse out back. Amenities • Outdoor Full Kitchen/Bar: Running hot/cold water, fridges, BBQ, and a sit-around fire table. • Private Beach: Swings, hammock, pyramid, small volleyball, badminton area, and a small fire pit. • Large Fire Pit: Located on the grass area, with the first tub of wood free with booking. • Outdoor Shower: With hot water and an outhouse for the bathroom. • Hot Tub and Cold Tub: There is a 2-man hot tub with a cold tub for a cold plunge or hot tub use. This is a $75 add-on and requires 36 hours' notice. Lacombe is 15 minutes away with all amenities. Note: No drinking is allowed, but smoke as much as you want. We loved staying at Fairfolk Farm! The cabin was very cozy despite the dreary weather outside. The kitchen was perfect for the two of us, and we got some eggs, jam, and veg from Pinette to supplement the groceries we got. It was just a short drive to Elk Island, so perfect for a hike. Definitely a highlight of the month, and we’d love to come back!

We booked this cabin through HipCamp and were left with rather mixed impressions. The cabin itself is very cozy, styled like a hunting lodge, with a true “retro” atmosphere. Inside everything is simple but tasteful — it really feels like a little corner of nature where you can disconnect from everyday life. We genuinely enjoyed this authenticity and sense of peace. Unfortunately, at the very end of our stay, a situation occurred that spoiled the overall impression. As we were getting ready to leave, the hosts let out their large dog. The animal behaved quite aggressively, which felt unsafe — especially since we had our 4-month-old baby with us. We really appreciated the atmosphere of this place, but it would be important for the hosts to consider this issue with pets, as guest safety matters a lot. Overall, the place has great potential for a wonderful stay, and we sincerely hope this aspect will be addressed.

This was so lovely! The tents are clean and tidy, and very cozy and warm. The bed and bedding were toasty and comfy. The land was beautiful and the small creek was so refreshing. The outhouse was very tidy and nicely organized, but a bit smellier: it was right after a long weekend, so no surprises after lots of use! It can be a bit tricky to find in the dark and there’s no GPS, so be sure to read the detailed directions very closely BEFORE you lose service, unlike me 😅 Overall, a lovely little getaway space, peaceful and remote, but close to town for needs, and just a quick drive to Waterton. I also found the host very helpful and responsive which ruled :)

We had a great time Glamping here with our two little boys! It was the perfect way to camp in comfort (and warmth) with them. The cabins/tents and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. There was access to running water (non-potable) for dishes. The sauna was brand new and a definite touch of luxury. The staff were so friendly and approachable.

A cozy spot with everything we needed for an easy get away from Edmonton. Beautiful walking trails and 5 minute drive from a little lake with lots of wildlife. The dogs Cooey and Ruger were great hosts as well!
