A 200 acre horse breeding property on the outskirts of Tamworth. 6 minutes to the Country Music Capital CBD. Lots of shady trees to camp or park your van/RV. Hills that you can see forever from the top of.... Some outdoor seating. There's two flush toilets, two hot showers. Dogs are welcome but must be strictly on a lead at all times. There is a dog run available if you want to leave your dog and go to town or the Country Music Festival. Generally most people stay and camp near the horse barn. Indoor shower and toilet available and there is a outdoor hot shower and a sink and a tub to rub a dub dub. Laundry is available. Ask for the key ($5) The outdoor shower is private but has no roof so you can shower under the stars. Picnic table provided and a fire pit to barbecue in winter (fire bans in summer) Transported horses are also welcome...yards available. Price is per person. Price is per person. Children under 12 are free.

We loved our stay at Hillside. Dawn was amazing, she took the time each morning to say good morning to all the campers and even took us for a drive through her property. Highly recommand

Dawn was so welcoming and wanted to take us on a complete guided tour of her entire property, unfortunately we did not have time. Highly recommend this place for a stay.

Dawn was fantastic. Nothing was a problem. She took us for a drive up to the top of the hill and the views were amazing. I would definitely stay here again.

As soon as I was welcomed by a lovely gentleman who showed me where to go then as I was setting up came over and showed me where the toilet and shower was. Would certainly go back again.

Was such a beautiful camp site! We arrived quite late but the camping site was still easy to find. The outdoor shower is super warm and definitely worth it to look at the stars. We woke up to plenty of horses in the fields nearby including some foals.

This was our first Hipcamp and my word it was an experience. Our host Dawn took us to the top of the property where we saw the most magical view and got to see the horses and fouls gallop alongside us. It was a perfect set up, close to Tamworth to see the sights, clean and varied amenities (you have to shower in the open air shower) and plenty of space for the family.

Awesome spot, just out of town. Beautiful scenery, nice amenities and reasonably priced. This was our second stay and we'll no doubt be back again.

I had a great time. I was there for two weeks. The campsite is great - lots of room. Directions were easy and signage at the entrance and on the farm made it easy to get to the paddock. Shower, sink, laundry and toilet facilities also very good. Two toilets, two showers. Lovely hot water. Clothesline available for laundry. Finally, Dawn was lovely to deal with. I had a very enjoyable stay. I've already booked a trip back!

Had a nice outlook from some sites but unfortunately there seemed to be lots of long term campers all very close to each other in a small fenced off area near the barn, that appeared to be living there. I thought for advertising 200 acres, we would have the option to be more spread out given we were self contained and didn’t need amenities and a choice to stay not so close or on top of other campers as it is advertised as a farm stay.

Shower water was properly hot, toilet was clean and had a mop on standby to tidy up if you get it too wet. Laundry is $5 (at time of writing) vs $7 in town.

Lovely green grass and clover and pretty views. Good bathroom, shower and wash up facilities. A great,cost effective sleepover option near Tamworth. Close to road so noisy especially during the day and no walks on the property due to livestock, so not really a country escape kind of camp but a beauty of a close to town option.

Very peaceful spot right near Tamworth. Dawn was a lovely host who welcomed us and showed us around the property. Would recommend the drive to the viewpoint if offered - it's a stunning view at the top! Highly recommend Dawn's property to anyone camping in the area.

This is the best stay I've had anywhere. Dawn (and Mark) made me feel so safe and comfortable. I had the opportunity to take incredible photos of the most gorgeous horses with major personalities. Dawn taught me so much during my short stay and I really feel honored to have experienced something so special here. I hope to be returning for the Country Music Festival in Jan. Seeya then!

We lived camping here as it was super close to Tamworth but far enough away you feel out in the bush! You wouldn’t even know the roads as close as it is if it weren’t for the few cars that drive past at night!

Dawn was so warm and welcoming to us and really made sure we were comfortable. Amenities were clean and well looked after. The camping paddocks itself were beautiful. We will definitely be coming back.

Beautiful views, plenty of space and a convenient location. Dawn was very hospitable and went out of her way to give us a tour of the property, provide firewood, tea/coffee and amenities. Couldn't recommend more!

I wish we could give Dawn and her beautiful home more than 5 stars. She is an absolutely fantastic host, very welcoming and made us feel at home on her stunning property. We had a small hiccup due to our car and we had to extend our stay.. Dawn went above and beyond for us and let us experience tamworth from the eyes of a local and gave our little family some amazing memories we'll never forget. It is truly a piece of paradise not to be missed.

Easy access, close to Tamworth. Dawn was very friendly and offered to give us a tour of the view . Quite a small place and a couple of long term stays but they were very friendly too and good to have toilets and shower. Little bit of noise from the road but definitely recommend

Expected quiet & got major highway noise. Expected a nice country view and got rusted parts and rubbish (have pictures but hipcamp doesn’t seem to allow us to post). Expected a warm welcome and got snide remarks and abrasive attitude. Hoped for a shower and found such filth it wasn’t an option. Hoped for space and found many other campers in a small space. Left after 1 night although we’d paid for 2. Can’t understand how anyone would give this place a good review.

I absolutely loved staying here. Getting to pet the horses and the farm cats was such a great bonus to camping in the beautiful scenery. Dawn was super helpful in explaining things to us when we arrived. It was a great base to go and explore Tamworth and Nundle. Would definitely come back!
