Most favourite farm camping site
What a great place to camp! You don’t feel at all like you’re on a farm. It’s so big you feel completely off the grid but know in the back of your mind you’re safely on someone’s property.
A Kangaroo drunk water from the Dam so close to us. Amazing. Nice terrain with hills and valleys and tracks for short 4wd experiences.
Nothing like one one expect of a farm. Felt more like being out bush. Plenty of wood provided and if you have an axe it’s easy to get wood as well.
Great place just early check out was hard if you’re not the fastest packer.
Great site... poor host
We recently spent 3 days camped at The Dams site in Seven Hills Tallarook. The property and site were great, lots of space for our camper and 4wd as well as a few local animals that came down to visit us at the dam. However, there are a few things to be aware of that are not listed in the description. The main property is at the top of a steep hill which when you take the alternate road is possible in a regular vehicle, the other more direct road is 4WD only. We were greeted by our host Taylan who was unaware of which campsite we had booked despite the correspondence we had had with him. His boys showed us to the site via their motorbikes which was down a very steep and rocky road which would be strictly 4WD only. After setup I texted Taylan to ask if we could have a fire due to possible restrictions, he replied with a yes and that he would drop off our prepaid firewood the following day. This was the last we heard from Taylan, no pre paid wood arrived and no message about possible fire restrictions the following days. We also booked in for the animal feeding but were never contacted about it. Main issue is the road back up to the house to leave the property. This is a very steep and rocky road which when towing a trailer or van could be very dangerous. We had to do some of our own roadworks to repair the road to have any chance of getting back up the hill despite having a 4WD in climbing mode. Once we arrived back at the house, Taylan was not there so possibly due to a mid week booking, we were left to fend for ourselves. Great property and location, but poor host and misleading information.
An awesome location with great hosts. They even came to our rescue when we had a few car troubles at the end of the stay - thank you! The property itself was clean and well maintained. Taylan suggested we move from the river to the dam. I’m glad we did. We parked our camper next to the dam where the kids spent much of the day catching yabbies. We got a heap of wood delivered for the fire which was way more than we could burn. Would definitely come back again!
What a great spot! So awesome to have the whole space for our group and the next closest camp was at least 300m away. Incredibly dry, not an issue for us but we felt for our hosts and their animals. Quiet, nothing to do but let the kids explore and enjoy the company we had. Just what we needed.
Great spot for a quiet getaway if you are looking for total get away from it all. Taylah found me a really quiet spot in the lea of a hill, and for the weekend saw no one but heard and saw birds, alpaca cows and sheep doing their own thing. Great for a group as there is sooooo much space.
