Overall, the environment is beautiful but there's clearly a lack of management. We came the week after Easter and we understood it was going to still be busy. We were allocated lot '94' which was supposed to be a drive through powered sites. Our lot was a corner space, a huge tree right in the middle, the ground was extremely uneven to the point where we were unable to park our car on it without being on the road. We had a rooftop tent, which was described in the notes section of our booking, our lot was unusable. There was no management around and the phone number provided didn't answer. We were forced to go down the back on a spare unpowered site, where we were able to get a decent sleep, hoping we weren't intruding on someone else's spot. For $100+ a night you would think they would allocate you a site that was usable. The toilets weren't cleaned from the public holiday weekend until Tuesday morning, facilities provided were ok, clearly a home job, some toilets didn't have appropriate locks and the male shower doors weren't high enough for privacy. Really disappointing considering the price. The location was good and we understand you are paying for the location, however for that amount of money you expect clean toilets and usable land.

The location itself is amazing. So close to town and surrounded by multiple beautiful walks/hikes and water holes only a short drive away. However the ground is rock hard at this site and literally covered in rocks we couldn’t get our pegs in no matter how many times we tried. Resulting in us not having any working pegs by the end. It would be great for a trailer or a caravan but not tents. We had to leave and find new accomodation so we paid for sights we didn’t end up using.

A short walk or bike ride to town and enough space between each campsite. Only concern is that it is a dirt campsite meaning cars around the campsite means you will need to wash everything afterwards. Otherwise a lovely stay.

Camp Crusty was a disaster—poorly managed, filthy, and nothing like the promises made. Rocky surface, lot of Dust, unfrienDly management. They didn’t even considers change of spot request, despite of lots of empty spots. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Quiet, clean, cheap and great for not having a deluxe time, just good fun camping near the bike trials. Mystic is on your doorstep. So bad it’s great.

We booked a powered site over 3 nights and on nights 1 and 2 the power was out across most if not all of the camp ground. So far no offer of refund forthcoming. Many campers left early as were reliant on power.
The bathroom blocks are very old, poorly maintained with sinks coming away from the wall. One positive was the water was hot.
I have stayed in many caravan parks around Australia and sadly this has to be one of the very worst. It’s sad for Bright that this is available as I am sure it is not the standard elsewhere around town.

The only good news was that we were not staying in one of the huts and it’s walkable to town…

Park management is friendly, helpful and does a great job making sure all guests have a fantastic stay. The location is great, and a more natural setting than staying in other parks in town. Nice clean facilities - love a clean shower and toilet when camping! The staff were very knowledgeable and great to have a yarn with! We will be back!

It was a very overcrowded camp. I realize it was Easter but still small sites far too close together.
Amenities really old & run down so not looking clean.
Very dusty, just all dirt.
The price was very expensive just because of Easter but not worth the money.
Minimum 5 night stay for a 4 day weekend. We left early having spent only 3 nights there.

I was hesitant to stay here due to the recent reviews. I personally enjoyed my stay and think most recent reviews were a bit dramatic. This site is close to everything, the Bright village, riding trails, or to take a scenic drive up the alpine way to Mount Hotham. The facilities were older but clean during my stay and the hot water shower was fantastic. The only downside I guess was gumtrees and their litter of branches everywhere. The ground was dry but so is most places around here at the moment. I would stay here again if I come back to this area.

Really expensive place for dirty toilets and really small no grass on the hill spots. I wouldn’t recommend and I will not go here again. The staff was so lovely though. Camp site is right next to a main road. Spots are uneven and you have to literally sleep on a hill and they are so close to each other also they are so tiny we had not enough space for two tents, one table and fire pit. Also I picked the place because they allow fire pits but even though I paid lots of money I had to hire the fire pit and wood costs $100.

Camp crusty, well, we really should have paid more attention to the name. Not sure if it was the crammed and small camping site, the prison cell of cabins or the ‘crusty’ showers, but this just wasn’t it. Pay attention to the reviews, not the photos (hint: false advertising, grass is non-existent and it resembled the Sahara dessert rather than lush greenery). Our only option was to pitch the swags on gravel and hope it didn’t get windy as there was no chance pegs were going into that ground. The only positive was the lively fellow mates residing in the cells next to us.
Proceed with caution.

Ground was a thin layer of dirt with all rock below. Overall it took us over an hour and a half to get in 10 peg's. Camp Crusty was our 7th camp in 7 days and it usually takes us about 15-20 minutes to get our setup sorted, so I think that shows just how bad it was.
It happened to rain quite heavily the night we were there, and the entire camping ground has terrible drainage. I spoke to a couple people who were on grassy sites but their site was considerably lower than ours, they said the water got to their ankles and took hours before it had subsided slightly.
Amenities were incredibly run down and very dirty. For one, the sinks in the ladies were at mid thigh height. The sink which were clearly meant to be attached to the wall, were not and would shake and shudder when you’d turn on the water to wash your hands. Only 2 blocks with 3 toilets and 3 showers for males and females. Not nearly enough to cater for the entire campground. The only highlight was leaving the next morning.
If you’re heavily into MTB or have a self contained caravan it might be a good campground. But if you’re just passing through like we were, keep driving!
It has the bones to be a great campsite, in fact you can see they are building new cabins, these are the ones they’ve taken picture of for their listings, you actually can’t stay in or access these. The cabins I saw in use look scary and as if they are about to crumble apart.
For $55 for an unpowered site, absolute rip off and no value for money.
