Welcome to Wobbly Gate Estate! This is glamping with a side of real camping in the Tasmanian bush. Goats and sheep will stroll around and you have over 20 acres all to yourself to explore. We're located up a gravel road on the northwest coast, you won't find any other tourists here. Soak in the woodfired tub, under the blackwood tree. Cosy up to the wood fire, roasting marshmallows in your star Gazer yurt. A comfy queen bed and a backyard of adventure, it's a Tasmanian version of luxury camping. Our Yurt location is known as The Top Paddock - A Little Inside Information: Well in my opinion (and a few others) I am Living The Dream! I started living here permanently seven years ago, most of the property's out dwellings and the Cabin is built from recycled, reclaimed materials or been handed down. I am fully off the grid and in the process of trying to become self-sufficient. The water is pumped from a springfed dam and mostly gravity-ed. It's a little like McDonald's Farm, an array of birds and animals. There's an orchard, hothouse and a Raspberry patch which may be my favourite spot when they're fruiting. It really is an amazing lifestyle, peaceful, relaxing and rewarding. You should come see for yourself 😉

The Top Paddock

Yurt · Sleeps 2
Your Yurt has everything you need for an amazing, authentic stay. (Please read the house rules at the foot of the bed upon your arrival.) A queen bed, flickering woodfire, looking out onto nothing but rolling hills and native trees. At night, unclip the roof curtain and lie on the bed, staring at the stars✨ and the moon🌕. Sharing only with miniature goats, babydoll sheep and an array of wildlife. There's a small cabin down the road and up the hill, so while you might see a car going past every now and then, that will be it. Nearly all of the time, you're enjoying total privacy and the sounds of the bush. The bath will be full when you arrive. You just need to build a fire in the fire pot (takes about 45 minutes to heat up), and water is available to cool it down. We are very much fur baby friendly, and there's even something special for them hidden in the tent 🐾I just ask that they are under your control at all times. And please, if you have any questions or need any assistance, I can not say it enough, please, please just ask, I want you to 100% enjoy this experience. Enter the top paddock halfway down the lane through the gate, and please close the gate after you. Check-in is at 2 pm, and check out is before 10 am, as this is a working property. I thank you for your co-operation. This isn't your typical glamping, there's only one tent in the middle of the Top Paddock surrounded by nature, there's no shower(well there's a solar bag one) - only a wood-fired bath that takes about 45 minutes to heat once lit, other than the cast iron kettle on the stove, this is your only hot water. Firewood is supplied. All cooking equipment, plates, cups, cutlery ect is also supplied. You just need food, beverages and of course clothes, does tend to get a bit cold....
