Valley's Nest is your very own rustic cabin in the Fingal Valley, nestled under Bare Rock and overlooking Ben Lomond. The property has a house, shack, 2x A-Frame cabins, gardens and a dam. You access Valley's Nest via a separate driveway and is your very own private retreat that perches above it all. Come and experience the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, wildlife and tranquility. If you're looking for adventure, Bare Rock offers world class rock-climbing and is a short walking distance from Valley's Nest. If mountain-biking is your thing, Derby is an hour away, and 50mins to St Helens. And the exquisite East Coast beaches are 30mins away. If it's rest and relaxation you're needing, we have you covered with stunning views from the cabin and fire-bath, reading materials and paints. The cabin itself has a cosy wood stove heater, and is furnished with a double bed with pillows and a queen-sized doona. There is an undercover outdoor small kitchen with a 2 burner gas stovetop, basic kitchenware (with hand-held coffee grinder and aeropress), sink, solar lighting and rechargeable camping lanterns. The toilet is a private eco-throne with a view to Bare Rock. It is composting and only a short walk from the cabin. We provide you with wood for the indoor wood stove, an esky, bed linen, towels, tea-towels, basic kitchenware, cooking basics and toilet paper. The kitchen sink and bath water comes from a spring fed dam, perfect for washing your dishes and bathing in. Please bring your own fresh drinking water. Please note this is rustic accommodation, the cabin doesn’t have 240v, only a solar powered charging port with USB-A/C inputs to recharge the camping lanterns and your devices. You may wish to bring head torches for night time reading and card games! There is no wifi available but there is strong mobile phone service. Fingal is fondly known by the locals as "the Valley", and hosts several coffee and food vans for travellers passing through. Fingal is located just 15 mins to local township St Marys, where you'll find IGA Supermarkets and the popular pub/restaurant St Marys Hotel. Valley's Nest
Such a beautiful location, abby has thought about everything you need to be comfortable. Kitchen is managable for simple cook ups and the bath is fantastic. Be aware that the charging station is very limited for power. Also wasnt expecting such close neighbours. All in all would definitely recommend and would consider staying again!

Valley's Nest
This weekend was a birthday present for my wife. She loved it at Valley’s Nest. Calm and peaceful with beautiful view. Very comfy bed, lovely fire that kept us warm. She had a long bath on Sunday taking in the view again. We also loved exploring Fingal and St Mary’s. Great meal that the St Mary’s pub and watched a platypus in the River running past the pub. Great weekend.

Very quiet and secluded, lovely set up and had everything for the perfect camping style. Bath however is designed for 1 person. As the heating is underneath the bath, it heats up too much. Just to keep in mind when booking your stay

We absolutely loved our little getaway…from afternoon hammock naps, star gazing from the wood fired bath, pears cooked in hot camp coals and the most comfiest bed to drift off to sleep. Pure relaxation! Thank you Abby and Markus for sharing your little slice of heaven ♥️

To anyone who wants the camping experience with all the creature comforts, look no further than Valleys Nest! Not only were the views spectacular, in daylight & at night, but this place really did make someone like me, who doesn’t like to camp, appreciate the experience even more. The potbelly stove was bliss in these cold evenings & made sure we were never cold. The long drop was the best we had ever used - super clean & smell less! The swing & open verandah were my constant go-to for taking in the views when not cooking & warming up next to the fire, and the bath - just wow! Super warm with the most spectacular views! The whole experience was just so magical & we wont be only visiting once! For anyone wanting to reconnect to nature without too much effort, this is for sure an experience worth booking! Thank you Abby & Markus for sharing your magical place - it made for the most perfect romantic escape from our regular city life & forced us to reconnect to nature in all the best possible way!

We absolutely loved the Valley's Nest! It's truly charming and has been designed, built and furnished with lots of meaningful touches and details. It gave us the chance to feel totally disconnected - cooking outside and sitting by the fire, while still feeling super comfortable with a warm bed & firebath. And of course, the swing is iconic. Loved it.

The most magical stay! We loved our night at Valley's Nest ❤️ Arriving here and being greeted by the stunning views, cosy space and the lure of the outdoor heated bath is enough. One of our most memorable stays, we're already planning a trip back! Huge thank you to Abbey for great communication & sharing such a beautiful space.

I beautiful experience for a solo night away. Such a magical little spot. The fire bath was a dream, and the cabin was super cosy. The only thing they was a bit tricky was that there was no charge in the provided power bank and all the lanterns were flat, so it was a very dark night. I embraced it, but maybe just bring a torch with you just incase.

Absolutely beautiful spot. Abby had everything set up and offered advice ahead of time to allow for cold weather. I was pleasantly surprised that absolutely everything you could need for a night away was there (utensils, cutlery, lanterns, washing up supplies, everything. just bring your food, drinking water and drinks.

This was the relaxing experience we both needed. We absolutely loved this place. Blessed with great weather and the Milky Way and stars were epic. The bath was also delightful. Leave your airs and graces at home and simply enjoy the ruggedness of this beautiful place.

Lovely night away becoming one with the frogs I could hear calling from the valley below. After 5 baths in 23 hours, I’m pretty sure I’m part aqua myself at this point. This place has everything you need to switch off and tune into nature and yourself. The water colours were a nice touch too. Hoping the price stays the same so I can come on the reg! Oh and a bandicoot said hello when i was in the toilet. :)

Peaceful and picturesque!

I had a lovely one night stay at the Nest. Abby and Markus were responsive hosts and they have created such a beautiful space to slow down and relax in. The bath was definitely the highlight!! The bedroom itself was super warm and cosy and I had a fantastic sleep, waking up to the beautiful still valley in the morning. I can’t wait to come back and stay at the Nest again, it was the perfect solo getaway for me. Thank you Abby and Markus :)

Valley's Nest
Valley's Nest is an absolute dream! Walking from the carpark to see the Nest with the valley and mountains unfurl beyond is jaw dropping. Surrounded by nature, there is everything you need for a peaceful rejuvenating stay. I loved the fire bath, laying on the deck in the sun, sitting around the fire, the cosy bed, and the swing! This place will get into your heart. I look forward to many more visits!

What a cracker of a spot to stay! Two blissful nights “camping” in the bush, but with a super comfy bed to snuggle up in at night and wake up to the best view out over the valley through the multi-panned timber window. Toasting big hunks of fresh bread over the fire pit, cooking up nighttime feasts over the little gas stove, hearing the patter of rain on the tin roof of the cabin while we sat inside and played music through our Bluetooth speaker (cozy from the little pot belly wood heater), cranking up the glowing coals under the outdoor bath on a freezing winter night and sliding down into the hot water to stare up at the stars and the moon glowing through the tree branches overhead…. *sighs… Absolute bliss, and we didn’t want the weekend to end! Thanks for providing this really unique spot! 🩷

Valley's Nest
Valley’s Nest was the perfect blend of camping and comfort. It was lovely having a warm cosy bed and a hot bath to look forward to after getting salty in the surf. We also utilised the water colour paints, guitar and books — a great selection! The views from the accomodation and location of the property are spectacular. Abby and Markus have created a super special spot, we will definitely be back!

What can I say.. I really didn’t want to leave! Came across Valleys Nest on Instagram and made a booking instantly. Such a special place. I particularly loved that it is dog friendly, as my pup was very happy to enjoy a snuggly night away! The bath was beautiful to relax in. The undercover kitchen was a bonus, as it rained on both days that I was there. The rain on the roof was lovely to listen to with a coffee in bed in the morning.. and the bed was extra comfy! Will absolutely be back and recommend to everyone.

I spent two treasured nights away in this magical little bush getaway. A gorgeous, private, rustic cabin with the most comfortable and cosy bed and a wonderful outdoor tub. I arrived frazzled after a long day, but felt relaxed and uplifted within minutes. I enjoyed a long soak in the bath with views overlooking the valley and then the best nights sleep. There was also a lovely selection of books to read. Fingal township is close bye for coffee and brekkie or the outdoor kitchen worked a treat. Communication with Abby was warm hearted and so accommodating and all directions to the property super easy. I highly recommend this experience as a wonderful way to leave the world behind for a day or two.

We really appreciated our stay at Valley’s nest. The space itself is great, simple and beautiful. The location and views are spot on and the bath is bliss. Abby communication with us was clear and kind and she was generous with our check in time. We are already planning our next ‘retreat’ to Valley’s Nest.
