You will be surrounded by paddocks of friendly farm animals situated in a peaceful rural setting. Day trip to Stanley, Don River railway, Cradle Mountain, Lemon Thyme Lodge, Sheffield, Devonport, Ulverstone, Leven Canyon and lots more knowing you home on wheels is safe, secure in a friendly environment or just kick back, relax. take some time to look up and star gaze! Pets welcome on leads, please pick up after them, off ground fire pits allowed, spring water available on request. You must be fully self sufficient and take all rubbish of the farm.

Site 2 Dam Front
What a great place to unwind after the trip over on the SOT. We stayed for 3 days, explored the area and also relaxed around the dam on the property. We saw the platypus playing each day and caught a rainbow trout. Steve was awesome and welcomed us. Put this one on your list.

We spent 2 night's at dam front, sheps farm recently,and found it a perfect short stay spot very quiet, rural outlook was very relaxing sitting in front of the dam, directions were clear, easy to find and steve was very welcoming will stay again in the future.

We love staying here, beautiful spot. Sit by the dam and watch the birds, cows across the way and the gorgeous platypus swimming past. Steve is the perfect host - very communicative.

We highly recommend staying here at Shep’s Farm. Definitely worth the 12 min drive from disembarking the SOT. Steve was a truly nice and helpful guy. We absolutely love our stay here. The green paddock and beautiful dam was so nice to camp beside and we even spotted a platypus.

Beautiful spot by the dam. Hubby had a go at fishing! Our frenchie loved having a run around. We had the place to ourselves, it was very relaxing. We will definitely be back.

A wonderful campsite. We enjoyed relaxing in front of the dam. No luck with fishing but the resident platypus was very active. Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed our two nights away at Shep's Farm! Host Steve and Michelle are very friendly and very helpful with all our needs during out stay! We very much loved staying at Steve's property and highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful location !

We only stayed one night at the end of our camping trip. But we've found the ideal spot not far from home where we can zip out to on a Friday night for the weekend. Sheps Farm was perfect. Clean, quiet, well sign posted and easy to follow directions. There is catch and release fishing, we both caught a fish. Beautiful outlook. You can sit and watch the horses galloping around the paddock. Our dog Shiloh wasn't quite sure what to make of them and sat and stared at them all day. Or watch the antics of the ducks in the dam and the cockatoos in the trees. Or lay back in your camp chair and gaze at the stars, clear skies and great views of the milky way. We will be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a great spot. Nicely mowed paddock right beside a dam which we actually caught a nice size trout in. Host Steve was very welcoming.Certainly will come back again.

Absolutely fantastic place. Location is great. Only 15 minutes to Spirit terminal. You can base yourself here and explore so much - Sheffield, Latrobe, Cradle Mountain, Deloraine and so much more. Or just sit by the dam, relax and watch the animals, lookout for the platypus! If you like a fish there is trout for catch and release. Steve and Michelle are very accommodating and their hipcamp is certainly a bit of paradise. Would totally recommend booking here.

A huge Thank You to Steve & lovely wife for having us for a couple of days, Beautiful spot to pull up , totally relaxing & you can fish for Rainbow Trout while you are there. Great spot to do something or Nothing & meet the Sweet Horses on there Property. 👍😀

We loved staying at Shep’s Farm , Owner Steve was more than helpful & ensuring we had a great stay , the Peacefulness & the fishing in the Dam for Rainbow Trout is a fun thing to do, fire at night just perfect & Shear Relaxation .
