Leven River Camping On Wattle Farm: Your Wilderness Escape Discover Leven River Camping at Wattle Farm, a tranquil retreat nestled on the edge of the wilderness, where the river and forest greet you at your front door. This naturally forested 100-acre property is a haven for abundant native wildlife, offering an idyllic escape into nature. When you book, you'll secure a site within one of our designated camping areas, with the freedom to choose your exact setup spot upon arrival. We offer two main areas: "The Big Paddock" (left of the road) and "The Little Paddock" (right of the road). The Big Paddock is ideally suited for smaller campervans, tents, swags, off-road caravans, and camper trailers. Here, you can set up anywhere within its bounds; pitching your tent among the trees or along the river is perfect for a truly immersive experience. An approximately 3-acre clearing is also available by the river. For easier access directly from the road, The Little Paddock is an excellent choice. While suitable for smaller vehicles, it's also ideal for larger caravans. This area offers approximately 5 acres of clearing right beside the river. Both paddocks are conveniently located just before the bridge and provide ample open space for outdoor activities like frisbee or cricket. Natural Surroundings & Activities: Leven River Camping borders the Dial Range Nature Recreation Area and a Nature Conservation Reserve. Our sites are set on lush, green, fern-filled river flats within a sometimes misty forested valley, cradled below Mt Duncan and Mt Lorymer. The surrounding area boasts popular hiking and mountain biking trails. The Leven River itself is a highlight, offering some of the best trout fishing in North West Tasmania. You'll also find perfect spots for kayaking, along with private river beaches where you can relax, paddle, swim, or enjoy a picnic. Access to the property is via a very scenic 4km, well-maintained gravel road that winds downhill to the base of the valley. Important Information No facilities are provided on-site. Guests must bring their own camping toilet (a dumping point is available in Knights Rd, West Ulverstone) and are responsible for all rubbish removal. Campfires must be small and adhere to Tas Fire Service recommendations and regulations

After diving down the long gravel hill, through eucalypt forest and ferns, camping is on the river flats at the base of the valley. Immediately at the bottom of the hill camping is in The Little Paddock on the right . Access to the paddock is midway along the straight section of road towards the bridge (just before the power pole). Please be mindful across the bridge and other side of the river is private property. There's an area to turn, just on the other side of the bridge. Once in the camping area, please find yourself a cosy spot among the wattle tree's set up and relax. ** Please note there are no facilities, so bring a camping toilet and general waste collection and please take it with you and dispose of responsibly**on.

We were lucky and had the whole place to ourselves. Fire pit was great, bought our own firewood. River access was fairly easy and even though I didn’t catch anything, it was very relaxing. Extremely easy to get our caravan into a good spot.

We were unsure if we were in the right spot because the directions said there were two entrances but there was only one. Maybe a Wattle Farm sign on the gate would be helpful as nobody met us there and we didn't see anyone in the two nights we stayed. Also unless you want to walk down to the sandy area there isn't alot of river access for fishing. Other than that we loved our stay here . Peaceful even with the occasional car passing. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves both nights. We will come back in summer.

Beautiful property right by the river. Camp fires allowed. Big sites. Clean cleared camp sites. Quiet. Trout fishing in the River. Responsive friendly hosts. Great for families or friends trips. Fire wood available for a fee by prior request.

Was lovely and sheltered and river was nice to swim in. We didn’t know before going that it’s a reasonably steep decline into the property on gravel roads and is just find a spot and set up. Was a great few days.

Overall this was an ok place to stay. The booking system requires you to book a site, but there are no "sites" which caused some confusion with campers who arrived later. There is no signage. A group had parked their vans and vehicles directly in front of the only access to the 'beach' area which meant no one else could get through except by walking up the road and across a fallen fence. The road is not pedestrian friendly with more traffic than expected and a lot of that traffic was moving fast. This was a concern with dogs and young children. All other access to the river is very steep and has wire from washed out fences across the path.

The Big Paddock "Private Area"
We pulled into a tiny triangle paddock, nothing like the pictures showed . Only one access to the river … booked site 9 … well there was caravans just parked anywhere. Why book a site to be told by campers that you park wherever. Payed $140 for 3 nights . So we left and went somewhere else … Wouldn’t recommend it!

A lovely, quiet, off-grid site beside the picturesque Leven River. Just a 15 minute drive away from Ulverstone and its beautiful beaches, this was an ideal spot for us to base ourselves for three nights. The roads (bitumen and some gravel as you get closer to the campsite) are well maintained and were easy to traverse with our vehicle and caravan. A very quiet spot, with minimal local traffic passing by. Plenty of birdlife to watch (especially the charming wrens), and we also saw the odd trout or two rising.

Great location right next to the river. Little complicated working out where the camp sites are with no signage and being the only person there. Would very much recommend though.

Beautiful spot very quiet. We stayed on the left side through the wattles as the other area was full. Plenty of space for our caravan and friends tent. Not much river access this side. And some prickly weeds that our dog kept stepping on. I think he learned eventually. Zero phone reception but that's why you camp 😁.

It was nice to be somewhere with space, facing the river (although it was a bit of a climb down). You book a spot, you just choose where to go once you arrive which is great when you have a few people travelling together. Bring a kayak if you have one, perfect spot. It was fun fishing but no luck with a catch.

We spent the australia day long weekend at this camp. Its a great spot on the river. Access is a little hard as the banks are steep but you can make it work. The best site is on the right gate down the very end as it has easy access to the river. Nice and quiet had fires each night. About 6 other caravans in the paddock at the time.

We thought it was a great clean spot, nice and peaceful by the river. We will definitely be back and have also recommended to other campers. The only down side is there were a few prickles around the camp area, but on the awhole a very nice relaxing ,peaceful place
