Super easy drive in from the main road and there was lots of space to pitch our tent! The washrooms and kitchen were clean and the campsite was lovely being right on the water!

Really great spot for a night or a few! Facilities are great, kitchen is fabulous. We enjoyed our overnight stay at Rocky Waterski Club and would do it again if coming up this way.

We love the quiet, well cared for grounds of the Rockhampton Waterski Club. We arrived around 2pm and the caretaker was happy to assist and chat. He has asked if people are running late for arrival that they make a quick phone call so he is informed. He's a nice chap and obviously works hard and retires early of an evening. We would definitely stay again.

I found the caretaker to very friendly and helpful, the powered site was roomy and grass covered. It is a quiet location with the river as a beautiful backdrop. Will certainly visit again.

Large paddock near the river. Basic and dated toilets with two cubicles for the blokes. Large fully equipped kitchen so cooking during poor weather is a plus. Accommodating host and affordable for a quick stopover near Rocky. Did the job would stay again. Thanks

Site is OK and facilities reasonable but looks nothing like the photos, area is very dry and grass coarse, dead and dusty. Riverside camping is nice but very limited for caravans, tents on front with perhaps one or two caravans able to squeeze in down there. A pump on the river bank ran non stop while we were there providing a constant generator like sound, particularly annoying in the evening when sitting outside. Other caravaners we spoke on site thought the same.

The camping area is large so people where able to spread out. Toilets and showers good and very clean. We did not use the camp kitchen however it look good. The trouble with this place was the hours of noise coming from the several water pumps taking water out of the river for local properties. A couple of them were quite loud. It is also directly under the flight path for landing planes, about 6-8 a day, which wasn't too bad but it added to the pumps. Unfortunately we had to extend our stay for repair work. If you go there don't camp on the river side. We would choose somewhere else next time.

Was lovely and peaceful
We were on a powered site, next time we will go unpowered you can camp right on the water edge
Just make sure you have water as you can’t bulk fill your tanks and have an empty toilet
You can get water and empty toilet behind the tourist info centre in Rockhampton

Great spot to get away from crowds
Luckily we had an unpowered river front site.
Big river, top view, plenty of birds.
Amenities rustic but suited us fine

What a lovely spot! So peaceful and spacious. We were there in winter and it was perfect. We woke up to a view of the misty lake.
The facilities were good, shower was hot. We didn’t use the kitchen but it looked well equipped.

Peter directed us to a fantastic unpowered site overlooking the river. Great view, so peaceful.
Booked for 3 nights, stayed an extra 2.
Toilets and showers are rustic but fine by us, $24 @ night is a bargain
About 15 mins drive to town, but for the space an view, it is well worth it

We were welcomed very heartly by Peter. There were very nice and big sites. The vieuw was wonderful and the site was full of flowers and plants, the showers are good and warm. We were sorry we could only stay 1 night,
(There was trouble with the camper)

The Rocky Waterski Club was a great overnight camping spot beside the river with toilets and hot showers. It has a camp kit hen with hotplates and even an oven. The caretaker was welcoming and helpful.
