**Our camping sites vary in size and proximity to others. If you want to come with a group with several vehicles etc, please send a message rather than book separate sites. We will help find a site which suits your needs. We now have several secluded bush camp sites as alternatives to our more 'civilised' sites. They have no facilities apart from the site so you must be entirely self-sufficient. But all are single sites well away from others. We invite you to come and share our property, soak up the tranquility of our quiet valley and enjoy feeling at home in nature. And your dog is welcome too (under control please because we value our wildlife, and no more than 2 dogs per couple or family group)! The land is nearly 200 Ha in the western foothills of the Dividing Range, with the usually-flowing North Branch Creek being a green haven supporting lots of wildlife. It also includes the secluded back valley of Hann Creek to which you can walk, cycle or ride, with many tracks of lengths up to 3 km. The land is mostly open forest land with some cleared areas from its dairy-farming history, and many gullies with thicker vegetation. The property is mostly now dedicated to nature conservation and the recovery of its more natural state. It is a Nature Refuge under Qld legislation with special emphasis on recognising that the land is Githabul country, honouring local Githabul people now, sharing it with them and others, plus preserving species of plants and animals with known relevance to their former lifestyles. The name Nyalar Mirungan-ah means 'Old Women's Tears' in Githabul, and recognises that they cry because the land was taken from them and because it has not been looked after well by European people. We are now trying to care for it well, and to allow the original ecosystems to return, by lighter grazing, soil recovery and using traditional Aboriginal burning knowledge. And we welcome dogs as long as they don't disturb our wildlife. Shandy, our own dog, is very welcoming to guests and might drop in to your camp for a visit.

On top of a small hill with grassy eucalypt forest on all sides, with a couple of small level spots to select from for your tent. Views to the mountains in the east and across North Branch valley. Completely isolated from other campers and neighbours. Access is across the creek and up a windy, grassy track, so trailers are not possible and a high-clearance vehicle is needed.

Some views to the mountains in the east. Under large Yellow Box trees with good shade all year and adjacent to a steep hillside with thick bush. This site is a small area among trees on the bank of a gully and with a fern-covered rocky slope beside it. It is totally secluded, with no other campers or neighbours within sight. Access is via a bush track which is a bit uneven and so requires some extra ground clearance. The site is too small to turn trailers.

A flat spot right on the creek bank with three Bunya trees and creek She Oaks etc providing shade and privacy. Only 8 m to the creek water and a large pool fringed by rocks, about 600 mm deep normally, lovely to sit beside or for kids to play in. A mown track starts here and winds it way along the creek for several hundred metres between Lomandras and many other riparian plants, all the way to a beautiful, deep waterhole in which you can swim. Children under 5 are free.

A lovely secluded spots in a wide grassy gully with patches of mature trees, good shade and well away from other campers and from property buildings. Distance to creek from 200 to 400 m. Children under 5 are free. Bring your own drinking water but good untreated water is available not far away for other purposes.  A toilet is a few hundred metres from the camp site if you don't have your own. On the other side of the creek requiring high clearance vehicle for access. Plenty of room for 2 or 3 tents/vans in a group, but please send us a message if your group is larger and we can make adjustments.

Apple Tree Ridge

This camping spot is among scattered trees on a ridge above the creek, and up the slope across a cleared paddock to a high and tree-covered ridge. It is adjacent to an old grain harvester from the property's 1950s farming history. This spot is well away from all other camp sites - more than 200m. It is about 150m from the creek , with somewhat uneven ground to cross, or 300m via easy tracks and a bit more to the swimming hole. It is on the other side of the creek to the road, requiring a high clearance vehicle for access, and slightly restrictive access track requiring careful negotiating between small trees if towing a large trailer. Bring your own drinking water but good untreated water is available right next to the camp spot for washing etc. The toilet is about 200m from the camp site. Children under 5 are free.

Such an amazing spot! Thankyou for sharing such a wonderful space with us! It was heart warming to stay in such a well looked after natural space. We enjoyed our time camping nearby and swimming in the beautiful creek, spotting wallabies and a great array of Birdlife! A great base to explore the goomburra section of main range NP.

Came back here for the fifth time in about as many years. A lot busier than normal but to be expected on a Public Holiday Weekend. We chose The Gully which we had all to ourselves and loved it.

My wife and I had a great long weekend on Brenda and David's property. I really enjoyed the bush walking tracks and how quiet the location was. Lots of wildlife, kangaroo's, birds etc. Our dog enjoyed being off lead and having plenty of space between campsite.

Stayed at Gully 2. Nice quiet camp spot away from other campers. Campsite well maintained for tents and for the kids to run around. Creek a short walk for the kids to have a play. Great communication from the hosts.

What a fantastic camp, we spent a long weekend at Apple tree camp, it was private large and had beutiful. The walking tracks were amazing, the walk to the rock orchids was excellent. Would stay here again, loved the place.

We loved camping at Nyalar Mirunganah Nature Refuge. It was very peaceful and secluded. The scenery was beautiful. There was only one other set of campers when we were there but we didn't see or hear them. We would love to go back.

Site 2 - The Waterhole
David was a great communicator and met us on arrival and guided us on a cool and dark Friday night to our secluded campsite by the creek. We awoke to the sounds of birds, and soon after the bacon went on we were greeted by the lovely little farm dog, Shandy. This property has many kilometres of tracks the David maintains through some beautiful country. As keen birdwatchers we were able to photograph over twenty different species of birds and spent the entire weekend exploring the property without leaving. Ventured to the open sites during the evening and saw the most incredible showing of stars from horizon to horizon as our trip coincided with the new moon. The toilets on this campsite are impeccably clean and by far the best earth dunnies we have seen. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Absolutely beautiful place to camp with the family and dog. The sites were really spacious and the creek crystal clear with a stunning waterhole. Loved the ability to discover the walking tracks on site. And Brenda and David were just lovely and helpful. We hope to be back soon!

Beautiful camping spot on a gorgeous property. We could hear the running creak from our tent. Close to the toilet, short walk to the swimming hole and accessible by our 2WD. Our dogs loved the stay as much as we did. Brenda and David were very welcoming. Would recommend!
