A beautiful 240 acre property with 40 acres of lakes and dams and 40 acres of fruit trees. Fish for Barramundi, Jew or Bass or go kayaking, swimming, bike riding, walking or just sit and relax. There are 6 x 2brm, air-cond, fully s.c. cottages or unpowered caravan sites right by the lake. Only caravans with own amenities can be catered for at this time. We are halfway between Gympie and Tin Can Bay and only 40 minutes from Rainbow Beach. Sorry no pets allowed in cottages but ok for campsites.

    Peach Cottage
    We loved our stay in Barra Cottage. Very comfortable for 4 people. The sunsets were gorgeous and we loved exploring the grounds. Brian and his staff were friendly and helpful. Wonderfully relaxing, we did some short trips to local attractions then back for dinner and stargazing around the fire.

    Quiet little spot with good access to the dams. You camp need to improve their system to record when fishing passes are purchased as it is not clear to the camp operators when this has or has not occurred.

    Met all our expectations. Hosts were friendly and hospitable. Plenty of wildlife ( Roo's, Hares,Kookaburra, Budgies etc). Relaxing or as busy as you wanted to be. 30 mins to Tin Can bay or Gympie for a change of scenery. Frog chorus of a night time. If you decide to fish you need a watercraft.

    Thank you so much Margaret and Lawrence for helping us have an amazing long weekend at Lake Barra Cottages. You made everything very easy, enjoyable and personable, you are a credit to this amazing place. Lake Barra has everything, open fire, camp kitchen, beautiful views, amazing sunsets.

    Lake Barra Cottages is a hidden gem. 10 families stayed the Sep-Oct long weekend, booking all 6 cottages (which were so comfortable and clean-just perfect, facing the sunset and orchard), and the other families camping, which was very easy and well appointed with a open fire and camp kitchen.
