We offer a space that is quiet and minimal bookings to ensure the place is never crowded or over booked. We are now establishing as a space for retreats for healing and wellness and a space of sanctuary & nurturing for the land & the people that visit.
Campers will have access to composting toilets and a camp kitchen. There is a firepit you can use, and firewood available for purchase (add extra to your booking at checkout). A large dam provides a place to relax, cool off or paddle.
We are situated 35 minutes from Noosa beach adjoining the Noosa trails. The property is in short proximity to the Woondum National Park, with the Great Sandy National Park not far away either.
The centre of our valley is situated between the dam and camp kitchen. This site allows for easy access and field campgrounds. This is a beautiful site for camping, or trailers, close to everything. Enjoy the views of the hills and surrounds and relax by the dam, or hike the hills.
No pets, sorry!
Was a beautiful stay! Byron was super helpful and responsive and provided warm showers, firewood, and the goats on the property were a lovely touch. Would gladly come back again!
It was a good experience but a bit of a treck to the toilets in the middle of the night, especially on a slippery hillside after it had been raining. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly.
Byron’s camping sites are an absolute gem! Whether you're looking for a quiet, private spot for a couples' retreat or a spacious area to enjoy with family and friends, this place has it all. The layout is thoughtfully designed to accommodate all types of campers, without ever feeling crowded.
Byron, the owner, is incredibly friendly and helpful—he goes above and beyond to make sure guests feel welcome and comfortable. It's clear he takes pride in the space and it shows.
We had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back again with friends. Highly recommended!
Campsite was well run and cared for. Beautiful spot. Very easy going. We appreciated that it wasn't crowded so that the campsites were able to be well spaced.
We loved staying at Hillier retreat, fantastic spot, well managed by Byron and super quiet and peaceful. Just us and 3 other families. We’ll be back for sure.
We had a terrible experience with the camping overall but we felt really left out by the host. There is no procedure for check in or check out, we were told to find a spot on our own and camp, unfortunately due to heavy rain we left the night and did not actually camp there but the host didn’t seem to have noticed that since they don’t care, or at least we felt that way. The common kitchen is the only thing that is nice, other than that the bush were too big and scary and the host were really insensitive about their guest.
There are better places than this around sunny coast.
Thanks
I had high hopes for this campsite, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by poor communication. I attempted to reschedule my stay multiple times due to inclement weather, but received no response from the host. This lack of communication left me feeling unsupported and frustrated.
It's crucial for hosts to be responsive, especially when weather conditions can significantly impact a camper's experience. The absence of timely updates or assistance was disappointing and made it difficult to make informed decisions about my plans.
I hope the host takes this feedback constructively and improves their communication practices for future guests
Great spot with wonderful hosts, surrounded by the trees and mountains was beautiful, felt like a home away from home. Recommend to anyone with top marks.
This was my first experience using Hip Camp, me and my friend are on a working holiday visa traveling through Australia and this was our first stop. We had a good experience staying here and the views of the mountain were gorgeous. There is a kitchenette where you can cook food outside, shower and bathroom. Would recommend staying here and got to see kangaroos.
The place is incredible quiet and peaceful, nobody around you. Have a special vibes that place, awesome. The owner Byron, very nice with us and welcoming.
Easy to find, good indicated.
We spent a wonderful holidays there.
My partner and I had the most incredible camping weekend at Hillier Retreat in Cooran, Queensland. Tucked away in the Noosa Hinterland, this 72-hectare sanctuary felt like our own private paradise. We were blown away by the stunning valley views and the peaceful vibe—perfect for just the two of us to unplug and soak in nature. The facilities were spotless—hot showers and composting toilets made camping super comfortable. Byron, the host, and his partner Yan was so warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. With so few bookings, it felt intimate and serene. We left feeling recharged and can’t wait to return to this magical spot!
I enjoyed my visit as the property has a large open area well maintained with an easy drive in to the property. Byron is a good communicator and easy going.
We had a great time camping here. The land is beautiful and the facilities are clean. We really enjoyed floating in the dam with the rings provided. Gorgeous views and the friendly goats were a bonus. Byron was welcoming and lovely to talk too. We’re already talking about our next trip!
We recently had the most amazing camping trip at this incredible spot! The amenities were top-notch—there’s a dam with floaties that made for hours of fun, a well-equipped outdoor kitchen that made meal prep a breeze, and clean toilets and hot showers that added a touch of comfort to the experience. The fire pit was perfect for cozy evenings under the stars, and the breathtaking view of the valley was absolutely unforgettable. Byron, the owner, was such a helpful and welcoming host, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We can't wait to come back and enjoy it all over again! Highly recommend this gem!
Lovely spot, We only stayed two nights beautiful dam we’ll definitely go for a dip next time we stay! Was raining but sun popped out before we left and wow so beautiful!
Byron was lovely and helpful on arrival🙏😊
Toilets and hot showers were earthy witch I love and adequate, Byron has a lot to do, can’t wait to see how this magical place evolves with all Byron’s great ideas still being created✨
Great location to retreat to after kicking around the Gold Coast doing some not so fun jobs!
We will definitely visit again!😊✨
Byron was a very helpful and friendly host. It was our first time camping and he advised us regarding the best spot to camp on his property and spent some time ensuring we settled in okay. We had the place to ourselves and really enjoyed the isolation. We can’t comment on the facilities as only stayed overnight so didn’t use them. Will definitely come back and hopefully get better weather.
This was my first time camping, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I camped with my toddler, my friends and their toddlers and we had the best time. The location is breathtaking, with stunning natural surroundings and star gazing that was absolutely magical. The camp facilities were outstanding—clean, and well-maintained—making it feel more like glamping than camping. Byron was a fantastic host. I highly recommend this campsite, whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned camper. We can’t wait to come back.
Byron and his comrades have created a great place to adventure camp. Well equipped, cool shaded gully, with swimming and a camp kitchen. Unbeatable value 👍👍🚴
We absolutely loved the landscape and the atmosphere at the retreat.
Byron & Jess were extremely welcoming and friendly and made us feel very comfortable to stay.
We extended our stay as we really loved it.
There is a kitchen, toilet & warm showers, little pond where you can enjoy for swim.
Fire pit was available and you can buy fire woods. Sleeping under the stars was amazing.
We had a little privacy as the space is huge and everyone set tent/van far away from each others.
Thanks Byron for making our trip fun and special.
Will definitely come back when we visit the area!
Wonderful place to camp, very quiet and peaceful. Having the toilet and warm showers definitely made the trip better. Host was wonderful and hope to do more camping there and around the place in the future. Tho there is a steep hill that some cars have struggled with but nothing bad. Overall great time wonderful scenery beautiful place!!
